The guard tower is located at 55, 23. The item is in a chest at the top.

This tower is the same one the Scarlet Spellbinders spawn in, it is a bit before Hearthglen with no elites. 55, 23 are the correct coordinates.

ok so i get up there fine, even though theres a retarded 3 person pull to find a level 63 rare elite. Screw you blizzard.

Tower:
55,23 (The only tower on the road to Hearthglen)

Mobs (lvl 56-63):
-2 Scarlet Avengers patrolling the road
-2 Scarlet Avengers patrolling around the tower
-2 Scarlet Avengers guarding the entrance
-1 Special mob patrolling inside the tower, not a significent threat, just count it as a normal mob
-3 Scarlet Spellbinders inside the tower, floor level
-3 Scarlet Spellbinders at the top of the tower
-1 Scarlet High Clerist at the top of the tower (lvl 63 rare ~9k hp)

The box is at the top of the tower.

Hunter tip: when you get to the top, send your pet in, it should give you enough time to open the chest and pick up the item.

If you're trying to solo this, make sure that you kill Cavalier Durgen right before engaging with the Spellbinders. It'll be costly if he patrols right into your fight.

I was able to solo this as a 56 warrior by popping Recklessness and quickly plowing through the casters. Warriors, beware that you won't be able to get off the initial charge due to line of sight.

As balance druid you might pop force of nature, loot chest, kill (if 63 elite is there give up... :P) cat form (slow fall) jump down and dash away.

Tried 3 times to solo as a level 56 hunter, no luck tho. The 63 rare-elite is kinda invencible at this level, he casts shield on him, absorbs a lot of damage and casts holy fire that hits for ~900. Tried to lure the remaining mobs with my pet and open the chest before the pet dies, but I didnt have enough time.
The respawn is really fast too, if you die, by the time you arrive to get your corpse all mobs already respawned.

Easy as a level 57 spriest. Spellbinders die quick and don't do much damage, just use fear good and three isn't a hard number to beat.

Solo'd as a Level 57 Feral Druid. Make sure Durgen has just recently gone down the stairs, he'll be down there for a while giving you plenty of time.

Stealth up to the nearest one and wait until it turns its back. Pounce, and DPS it down as fast as possible (should be pretty fast).

Jump out of Cat Form, and hit Bear Form (5/5 Furor is a must) while making your way around, and Bash the next one. Jump out of Bear Form and pop Regrowth, Rejuv and probably Innervate for good measure. Get back in Cat Form and kill the one you Bashed.

After the first two are down the last is easy as pie. Though this fight was entirely possible to me because of Feral, I killed the last one as he ran away using Moonfire, lol.

You may want to pick this http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=6023 quest at same time, Durgen resides on top of same tower and second quest spawn, hunter, is on the way there.

The only nerf was to the elite. If you are a non CC class - forget it. Cavalier Douche or whatever his name is will, in spite of your best efforts to wait until he is downstairs, pop out of a got-dam bowl of rice each time you squeak out a victory against the 2 casters (after the obligatory corpse run having downed 1 of them).

Group quest. Bout tossed my 27" monitor like a frisbee.

I presume that one or two are supposed to patrol downstairs. I got to the top and there were 5, yes 5, mobs waiting for me. 59 mage got owned in seconds.

Just a little tip, if ur having a main as i do just go with ur alt near the tower, log off and log in ur main. After that go kill all mobs from there and log in again on ur alt, loot the chest and get XP :). Remember that u can do this with others quests as well.

Found this nigh on impossible to do as level 56 prot pala, the casters on the bottom floor pretty much destryed me, and by the time i corpseran back the 2 mobs in front of the tower respawned.

its impossible to do when there is the elite up there for some classes some like hunters or mages could just frost trap or sheep him, they should remove it imo or atleast move him to another position.

did this as a 56 shammy with elemntal spec, but i did good at the door, but i didnt know about the 61 elite there and he killed me quick but when i came back, yes gaurds are back but since your dead just walk past the guy and go most of the way up the tower then spawn back and eat some stuff then i walked up two mages were on the top so i hit elemental mastery and did chain lightning and got ride of them quickly then took the staff and jumped off and mount and ran =D lol it worked

Soloed this as a level 55 Retribution blood elf paladin.
solo pulled durgen with mana tap ran up to the spell binders aoe silenced, cc'd the one i wasnt attacking with HoJ and Repentance, cleanse slow, and jumped off the tower so i didnt have to fight respawns :)

Tried soloing as a 56 prot warrior. the 63 rare elite was there, poped shield wall and a major pot, could only get him down to about 60% health. whoever tries this, good luck.

completed this quest by getting my main to kill everything there then logging onto my warrior.

They must have changed the location of the chest as it is not there anymore, cleaned that tower top to bottom and looked in ever cranny and no chest :(

Most annoying remains that stupid rare cleric. When you finaly get there safe and well, u go in and get totaly kicked your ... by this dude. He pops shield nonstop, untill he runs out of mana. As avarage 55-57, even good luck hitting him.

If he's there, just call in some lvl80 to clear him, no match for a normal 55-57 there.

Yes, I ran into the Cleric Elite. It made the quest rather impossible.

Instead what I did, I ran in and fought as many as I could. Died. Rezzed at the top of the tower. Had my demon attack the clerics at the top. Looted the chest then jumped off the tower.

It was easy for me, I killed everybody downstairs and I ran upstairs with a Power Word : Shield on me. I feared everyone then levitate. I ran away as fast as Speedy Gonzales :-)

I was once a pupil of Uther Lightbringer, founder of the Knights of the Silver Hand. I saw how he mishandled Prince Arthas's training. It led to the destruction of my homeland, Quel'Thalas, and I blame Uther and his incompetence for all of it! And now he has a tomb in his honor - how lovely.

My sources tell me that the scarlet fools are keeping one of his 'holy' relics atop their guard tower near the gates of Hearthglen.

Go to the Western Plaguelands and retrieve it for me.
