If i am right,in order to summon them,you need the cultist set which drops off of members of twilight hammer and you summon them from the windstones while wearing the 3 items from that set.

Be careful when fighting them as they have a very short leash and will despawn midfight. I was soloing this quest on my 67 ice mage (they're all immune to slowing ice effects, by the way) and while fighting my last one, the Duke of Zephyrs, I blinked to get out of one of his weather clouds and he vanished. When I mentioned this in guild chat, a warlock who had try to solo with fear kiting mentioned the same problem.

Now I don't have a Signet of Beckoning for Thunder, so I have to burn a few more sets of mats and gear til I get Zephyrs again.

This quest was a major pain.... I am not sure if it was bugged at the time, but everytime I summoned from Lesser Windstones, all of my Cultist clothing was taken from my inventory..hours of farming wasted. I ended up re-farming all the clothes and mailing them to another character to equip just one set at a time (12 sets needed for the Abyssal Crests)

For the follow on quest here's some info also: ... Don't count on the Four Dukes spawning in succession.... So get more gear than you think you need..especially medallions of station. It's also best to stand and wait for the regular Wind Stone to respawn rather than going from Twilight Camp to Twilight camp, as this will certainly guarantee the wrong Duke to Spawn.

And not to mention that Large Brilliant Shards are not cheap...7g ea at AH on my Server...do the math.

The reward for the 3 days working on this quest was going from 61 to 63 ! ! !

Happy Questing, and good luck with this one!! P.S. Bring a few lvl 70 friends for the Dukes and let your group hold onto the clothing for you so it won't be destroyed. And no matter what..if you are the summoner...DO NOT DIE during the fight..you get a cool glass of start the hell over to drink up!

The repeatable Field Duty quest can randomly lead to this quest.

This quest, like the other Field Duty quests, does not count towards Loremaster.

EDIT: It should also be added that when using a wind stone to summon a duke, you will get a random duke each time.

The dukes for this quest spawn in a particular order when summoned by just wearing the Medailion of station and the Twilight cultist's set. First to last: Duke of Shards, Fathoms, Cinders, Zephyrs.
A useful habit when fighting the ones with a knockback ability, the Dukes of Fathoms and Zephyrs, is fighting them with a tall object behind you to minimize the time lost of for example, cooldowns.

Personally I've experienced they are gradually more difficult, with the Duke of Zephyrs having incredible bursts consisting of both ranged aoe and melee abilities.
In the current wow version, they despawn if you(your group) die before they do or kite them away too far.

I killed each of them in order and then on the Duke of Zephyrs I somehow died and it despawned. I have been shafted every attempt at getting it to spawn since. I really hate Silithus quests and any other quest that depends on several levels of RNG where it can royally rip you a new one.

Don't even bother with this quest until you have gotten lucky with Hermit Ortell's mail to you. It's not worth the huge amount of gold and aggravation.

They do spawn in a particular order, it's just that anyone can interfere with it. You summon a Duke of Shards? The lvl 80 just ahead is summonning a duke, and hey, it's the Duke of Fathoms! /gasp!

As your use of caps suggests, you probably haven't realized this. Only reason how I found out is because EU - Eonar Horde is pretty much deserted, and silithus isn't really best place for our Alliance players to boost their DKs. Silithus is pretty much deserted, I had the chance to test it. Also, this spawning order may differ on some other servers, but I'm sharing what I can.

Yes, well, when a comment is either inaccurate or unnecessarily vague, downrating is appropriate. I'm pretty sure it is indeed random (or if there is a sequence, it includes repeats of some dukes before the first of any particular duke); a couple weeks ago I got two Dukes of Fathoms in a row from the wind stones closest to each other with no other players in sight. So either the sequence is specific to each stone and those two stones just happened to be at the same point in their sequences, or the sequence goes something like Fathoms-Fathoms-Shards-Zephyrs-Shards, which I think is the order I got while trying to do Three Kings of Flame - I wouldn't swear to that exactly, but I definitely summoned five dukes without getting Cynders, I didn't get him until I came back with a signet of beckoning - or it is random.

So did you summon dozens of dukes and the order repeated multiple times? If so, what was the order? That information would have helped. If not, then it probably really is random and you got lucky.
