Turn in is at 80,66 in the Alterac Mountains. If you have the Chillwind Point Flightpath, just head directly south.

You can easily collect these elements from their respective circles of binding in Arathi Highlands.

If you don't want to spend money buying the Elementals from Auction House, you can easily just fly to Arathi Highlands and visit each Circle of binding to farm the Elementals. They got pretty good droprate.

Elemental Water: 66,29
Elemental Air: 52,50
Elemental Fire: 25,30
Elemental Earth: 36,58

After that you can just easily run to Hillsbrad Foothills or fly to Southshore / Tarren Mill, and get to the river and just follow it up and you will find the Bath'rah Ruins. MAP: http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6176

Yes, after the 2.3 patch you don't have to have 10 i just bought them off the ah for all of them it was like 3g only.

how do horde pick up this quest ? the quest giver here is hostile to horde, and i might add in the moat at stormwind ?

arathi highlands is the best place to get those , go to everyo binding area and kill mobs till u get 1 elemental. i killed 1-3 mobs in every place and got all elementals

Drop rate is pretty low for these now; I basically had to wipe the entire circle to get a single Elemental. Save yourself the trouble and get them from the AH.

Drop rate sucks at the circles in Arathi Basin, but it's still one of the higher drop rate places for these.

I had to collect five times the items for this quest as I'm multiboxing five shamans, and it took me about three hours before I got them all.

Waters were fine, Earths weren't too bad, Fires sucked, and Airs made me cry.

So I go to the AH to get the elemental junk.... it was late at night and i rly didn't feel like wasting time (you know the feeling)...and i look at elemental earth, and lo and behold the price had more than double from a week ago (5g buyout compared to the earlier 2-2.5g)....and this being my main, i didn't want to throw 20g away on a quest (not even bothering to look at the others).

To make a long story short, I got earth, air, and water all in a matter of 20-30 minutes; but i haved for fire for 1 hr 10 min with no luck....so i finally say to myself, all right 5g isn't that bad, and head back to ironforge to buy some...as it turns out elemental fire was in the AH at a whopping buyout price of 20s !!!! :P I could not believe I had just wasted over an hour trying to save 20s.

The moral of the story....check the prices of all the things in the AH before you go farm them. :D

Cba, and farmed earth, water and air. 3 kills max. Bought water for 20s of AH. :D Arathi is definelty a good place for these, apart from the lvl 39s resisting your frost shock >_<

For whatever reason I had a heck of a time getting the elemental air off of the Thundering Exiles in Arathi Highlands. I wiped the circle 7 or 8 times before I got one to drop it- the others dropped much quicker.

Got all of these in Arathi, although it took a while. 1 pass through the water circle, 2 through the other three and I was done.

You can also get the elemental water in Stranglethorn Vale, off the northern island, just off-shore of the trolls.

I'm a lazy person and got two of the three elementals from the AH...but when I went to turn in the quest, the "continue" bar was grey. Wtf?

Found a bug in the Quest tracker while doing this:
If you accidentally leave some of the quest items in the bank, it will still be flagged as completed in your quest log. Then when you get to the quest giver (a pain in the arse), it will show up with the gold question mark icon on the map, as if to say you've completed the quest.
When you talk to the quest giver, obviously you won't be able to complete it because you don't have the item in your backpack!
Not sure if this happens for other quests, but it sure happened here for me!

I bought all the elementals from the auction house for roughly 3-6G each. With a Level 80 main feeding my first alt. loot, this was more feasible than killing for the items to continue the quest chain. Hooray for instant in-account player mail delivery.

Arathi Highlands is one of the best places to get the Elementals that you need to complete this quest, The drop rate may be low/very low in some case, but the respawn rate is fairly high to medium. and with the Four Elemental Rings it shouldnt be that hard to get one/two elements per Ring...

there are 3 horde races who have shaman ... only one alliance
shaman is a horde class (before TBC there was no shamans at alliance, like there was no paladins at horde)

and there is this quest marked "both" but ONLY WITH ALLIANCE STARTER !

and some people say that there is no discrimination against horde or WOWHEAD DON'T TAKE SIDES !

As sorcerer25 points out this quest was originally ONLY for the horde but no one here has managed to point out the NPCs that start it. Either Beram Skychaser or Sagorne Creststrider start this quest for orcs. Strangely Searn Firewarder is listed on wowhead as starting the quest but I could not get the quest from him with an orc character who was friendly with the Darkspear Trolls. I could get all of the "Call of" quests that Searn offers though. I don't know why I could get those and not this one.

I arrived at the ruins to find that the NPC wouldn't talk to me, even though I had all the items and saw a yellow ? as I flew over him on my way to Chillwind camp. I logged off and back on again and there was the yellow ?. Quest complete.

This quest does NOT count for Loremaster, but it DOES count for 3000 Quests.

Bath'rah the Windwatcher has sent out a summons for a shaman of your wisdom. He requests you bring a sample of each of the elements to show you are ready.

To find Bath'rah, go to the river east of Tarren Mill. Follow the river north until you come across the ruins where Bath'rah resides.
