Once you enter the inn, you'll see a pyramid of kegs near the stairs going to the second floor. Simply clicking on the keg is enough to complete the quest; it doesn't function like a chest where you have to wait 5 seconds.

Note that clicking on the kegs will flag you on a PvE server. I ran in without attacking and the instant I clicked the kegs all the players in the inn attacked me.

Note that the keg you have to click on is the one on the top of the pyramid.

Tried to do this quest solo.A load of 70s Alliance were laying in wait to gank in the inn.One 66 in junk quest greens didn't stand a chance though I took one spacegoat with me.

PvE server where Horde (despite our 3:1 ratio) wins almost every BG.This is how Alliance does world PvP on my server,victory by masses of 70s.

ran into the inn while the guards hitting me did keg, went outside into centre of town threw stink bombs while guards still hitting me, ran out of town waving at flagged alliance

easy quest, wont get flagged if you dont attack.

70 pally.

As of writing this, this quest (and presumably the other one, although I haven't been able to check) can be completed in Old Hillsbrad in the Caverns of Time.

Hurry and complete it before Blizzard fixes this bug.

EDIT: The Stinking Up Southshore quest cannot be completed in Old Hillsbrad.

Click on the top barrel specifically.

When I did this there were two rogues laying in wait, they both ambushed me for over 5k and I died in less than a second

Lots of 45 guards spawn, and the 60 elite Alliance quest giver *will* aggro. Easy enough to do as a 66 priest with pw:shield, psychic scream and lots of holy novas (they get kind of annoying).

was very easy as a lvl 60 Shaman, just killed everything and clicked the keg, except a guard comes running every now and then, so you are almost constantly being attacked by a guard which is annoying when you are trying to get apples from the apple bobber :(
you can run to the basement and heal and stuff and only the ones who are already aggroed will follow.
It is also a good place to resurect if you die in the inn, gives you time to get back to full health before you head out, and you don't have to fight your way back into the building..

While doing this quest on PvE server I ran into the inn not flagged, but when I ran upstairs (no particular reason) and was literally just standing there out of combat and doing NOTHING at ALL, suddenly I became flagged. At which point every NPC and their dogs attacked me. I did not even have the opportunity to click on the keg or do anything else.

Can somebody clarify when questfiver for this quest is available? I failed to find her near Undercity for last three days (starting with Monday). Hallow's End is in progress, but NPC is unavalable :(

Wanna do this the easyway?

For people who can enter COT old hillsbrand (N/HC) you can freely walk in and finish the quest.

btw dont forget to buy all the brews at the inn for the happy hour achievement

Did this quest as a 53 hunter...on PvP server...got nailed by a 70 mage...if you have the luck I did....get as close to entrance of inn as possible, then corpse run and res inside inn....if your body is at doorway, you should be able to res right in front of pyramid of kegs.

First go to Hillsbrad foothills then go to allys camp click on the highest keg near innkeeper.

No wonder Horde are better than Ally at PvP.

The Ally equivalent to this and the stink bomb quests are ones to put out the stink bomb and to simply ride close to the wickerman statue o_O

the flagging definitely seems to be screwy with this, and it's almost like there's some desync involved...

I ran in, tossed stinkbombs, ran around the inn for a while looking for the keg, finally found it, ran out and screwed around kiting guards and letting them attack me (dodge dodge dodge parry)... the flagged symbol never appeared and thus no allies were attacking me... until out of nowhere a warrior charges me, I have to trinket and vanish... THEN I suddenly have a flag with a 5m timer.

It's like my flag was visible to no one except this lone ally

Indeed. I ran into the Inn and was flagged and immediately jumped. I hadn't clicked the keg nor tossed a stink bomb. I didn't think this was wonky until I came here to read, as I'm used to being flagged upon entering Alliance cities.

I flagged as soon as a entered the Inn, shadowpriest so I have no retaliatory attacks, and of course there are numerous alliance making this really difficult, thanks blizz, whats the alliance version here run by UC and curse really loud, for the same achievement.

The screenshot provided for this quest is perfect. You'll know exactly where to find the keg inside the inn.

Approach Southshore from the west avoiding any guards. The entrance to the inn would be directly opposite you. Here's a map with the starting point.
Cast Ice Armor and Ice Barrier on yourself
Cast Invisibility and run into the inn
Go up the first flight of stairs to the right of the kegs and stand on the flat space between the first and second flight of stairs (This is a fairly secluded spot inside the inn). The kegs will be to your left.
Click on the top keg to complete quest and accept Ruined Kegs.
Clicking on the keg marks you PvP and will remove Invisibility from you. I had one guard attacking me but the Ice Barrier allowed me more than enough time to hearth out

Alliance now have a Renegado Galhofeiro who spawns at the Southshore inn and lobs stink bombs for them to clean up. Thus, they don't need to wait for you to complete Stinking Up Southshore before they can do The Power of Pine. This may have consequences for Horde trying to complete this quest. While the reduced wait time means there will probably be fewer bored Alliance hanging around, the ones who are there will be less motivated to let you finish your quests without hassling you. Just something to keep in mind.

Doing this in 2010, the Southshore guards are bugged and it's annoying as heck. I'm level 80, and they're level 45 - under normal circumstances they shouldn't notice me unless I almost run into them. However, the guards have instant respawn and an aggro radius approximately the size of the town. As fast as I could one-shot them, 2 or 3 more would spawn and aggro on me, even after I was inside the inn. Between their low chance to hit and low damage it's mostly just annoying. Another druid ran in as I was running out, and he was having the same problem.

Being struck by town guards will flag you whether you have any retaliatory abilities/buffs or not.

Seems too be bugged currently ? Says i've completed the quest without actually finding the keg, can't turn the quest in either.

Suggestion for Warlocks, before you enter the inn, go behind it and place a Demonic Circle near the back wall. Once you complete the quest and flag you can pop out and run for the hills.

ROGUES ONLY INFILTRATION

If you have a mount ride in from west along the building in front of the tavern.
When the guards are almost upon you, Sprint the rest of the way to the tavern.
If you were lucky you didn't die, but maybe will (This is pointless if you can kill the guards easily).
Go back to your body BUT DON"T RESURRECT YET!
Go into the tavern as close to the middle floor of the stairs as you can
Move the camera so you can see the top barrel, but so you can't BE seen, then res (I wasn't able to click the barrel from through the stairs).
Click the barrel and accept next quest, then hearth out (unless you want to play around more, but I wouldn't recommend it. Well I would do it myself).
Go to Darkcaller Yanka and turn in. Ta-Dah!

The humans of Southshore love their ale, and as such they prize the ale served at the Southshore Inn. With the chaos of Hallow's End now upon them, we can use it to ruin their latest batch of beverages for weeks - if not months to come!

Take these rotten eggs and place them in the main brew keg inside the Southshore Inn. Your presence alone will cause strife, so be prepared to defend yourself!

Once you've given Southshore a taste they'll not soon forget, return to me here at the festival!
