I strongly suggest getting this Ichor of Undeath beforehand, from undead in Western Plaguelands or off the Auction House. The mobs mentioned in the quest description are both rare and have a low droprate for this thing.

If you are in Azshara and do not feel like walking all the way back to Ironforge there are still hope! You can find it in a few monsters in Azshara!

You find them around 16, 70

Drop rate is only about 3-4%, so it is very low. At least you will get some loot and experience while trying to find it.

Pick up this quest on the way into Aszhara. http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5535 You have to kill a bunch of them anyway.

It took a few kills, but I did eventually get an Ichor of Undeath off of a Highborne Apparation, near the Shadowsong Shrine. I would suggest going to these guys, as they drop a good amount of Mageweave as well.

I killed around 13 or 14 and I got the drop from an Apparition.

Level 52 here.

I went right to the ruins as per the quest text - took 3-4 minutes before it dropped. Much faster than a trip to the AH

Incredibly easy to obtain the Ichor. It sells in the AH for really low prices ( I happened to pick mine up today for only 6s).
So unless you're one of those hardworking types, it's not worth the time killing everything. The drop rate for this stuff in Azshara is really low.

I farmed this for maybe 30 min in The ruins of Eldarath before i gave up and logged in on my bank to buy it from ah, but realised i had to run all the way to Ashenvale to get it from the mailbox i ran into some mobs at 20.65 and got the drop.

funny, I made sure to buy an Ichor at the AH before heading to Azshara after reading the comments, and then the first Highborne Lichling I kill drops one. OH WELLZ.

These items drop in WPL, though not very often. I've been grinding my AD rep and killed about 400 mobs and got 28 of these. So, if you do some quests there, you could end up having some for your quest... though, Azshara and WPL are quite distant. :)

For this restorative salve, you must use a simple formula: one part poison, two parts cure. You have acquired one cure, now you must gather the poison.

Powerful undead, such as the lingering highborne who wander the Ruins of Eldarath, are sometimes so infused with evil that it coalesces into a sickly greenish goo. To the living, this substance is known as ichor of undeath.

Due to the potency of this vile element, I require only a single ichor.
