First you have to do "Worth its Weight in Gold" quest from Apprentince Kryten, then you have to do "Wand Over Fist" from the guy near him and then you can get this quest.

Drop rate seems to be about 20%, not too hard to solo for stealth classes as there are a few shaman who you can single pull.

For those of you that are like me and don't actually know how to get to the tower:

When you are standing facing Stromgarde turn to the right. Don't actually go inside. Follow the wall outside as closely as you can until you get to the coordinates (21.3, 70.5) Be careful to not fall off ;) You can walk the wall inside, but do watch out because there is a patrol that walks up there as well.

When you come in to Stromgarde take a right into the alliance friendly area, then a left right before you go under the archway and there you have it. The above way works and is the way i came in but this way tends to be easier.

solo'd quite easily as a lvl 40 demonology warlock. i just pulled using curse of agony, ran back holding cntrl+2 to keep my VW close and once he was far enough away sent in my VW and went to town. just make sure to take time in between each to heal and mana up. i got a lot of XP doing it on my own, 400-700xp per mob. once i got what i needed i mounted and got out of there. pretty easy, just make sure you pull.

I'd just like to point out that the fastest way to this area is not actually entering Stromgarde Keep via the gate, or the crack in the wall on the right side. For those with Co-ords simply go to 21,72 (those without co-ords, while facing the entrance of the keep, turn left and run around the castle wall. You should reach a small alcove with the water in front of you. ) Upon reaching this point, while facing the water, if you turn right there is a somewhat steep hill that you can easily climb ( may be fiddly ) leading to a large gap in the wall. (gap co-ords 21,70) At this point you do not need to jump down. And will not agro ogres from the ground. Simply circle your way around to the location required and jump down at a valid entry point. This is only to amend the fact that this IS climbable and you do not need to make your way around along the hillside.

The drop rate may be low but i got it on the first mob that i killed....but the real problem aint getting in there but coming out of there because you cant get out from where you came in :S

I went in through the front gate, then went down the alley by the Allied safe haven. I had to kill a couple of maulers, but the item dropped off the first shaman I got to. Easily solo'd as a 39 Pally.

If you go in using SecondChance's back way, through the big gap in the wall, you can get back out that way. Once you've gone through the crack you can jump down and killed the ogres til the gem drops. There's a ramp on the right with trolls around it, with a ledge that runs alongside it; if you run up the ramp you can jump onto the ledge and follow it around, and it brings you back to the entrance point you used. The mobs dont hit hard, and once you're on the ledge you're home free. It's the method I used, and it worked really easily and made it really quick =D

The listed reputation reward is incorrect. On my 40 night elf druid, I just completed the quest and received 250 Stormwind faction.

If while hugging the wall you fall off into Drowned Reef (or something like that) swim to Faldir's cove, hop out of the water, run to the cave and through it. You'll see a huge gap in the wall-Go for it!

I completed this easily as a level 33 frost mage. Item dropped after two or three mobs.

Here's our next step: there're ogres all around the Tower of Arathor in Stromgarde. We're gonna need to activate the tower's defenses if you're gonna stand a chance against 'em an' still make it to the items alive. To do that, we're gonna need some gems the Boulderfist shaman have taken a liking to. They took 'em from the tower, but they're not gonna stay in their possession for long.

Get one of them gems an' bring 'em to Kryten--he knows the spell to enchant 'em so they'll work as a key.
