Sword of Hammerfall is a fine green sword if you don't want to spend lots of money on blue weapons at AH. Warriors/hunters/rogues can use it for a few lvls. Or'kalar got 1 add the trick is to kill the add first. Or'kalar got around 5.500 hp and easy to kill as a group of 3. The sword looks pretty cool as well ;)

Found him at around 22,66. He has 2 elite boulderfist shamans as part of his group.

In order to get this quest you first need to complete the "The Hammer May Fall" quest from Tarren Mill, and then the two parts of "Call to Arms" that follow.

Me (a rogue), a paladin, and two mages (all around level 35) managed to complete this quest. What we did was sap and sheep the three adds, then go for the boss. The problem with this is that it requires good timing so that it don't get too nasty.

The boss will also generally pull up another add that isn't nearby.

A healer is VERY much advised. Will be very difficult to do without it.

If you go for the boss, it's alright if you kill him then die cos you can get the loot after you kill him then run like hell. =D

you can't get The real threat till you do the chain quest for Tarren Mill so really yes its a chain

Solod this as a 38 hunter. Shot the boss from the ledge above, used a potion and feign death at the right times, and my pet took most of the damage. Very tough but it can be done.

Quest is easy now. I found him next to one linked mob in the "house" immediately East of the Tower of Arathor in the Ogre area of Stromgarde.

I did need to feign death though, after a few adds spawned right at the end of the fight. I don't know if they were linked or a result of a couple allied guys who ran behind me just before the fight. Be prepared.

after patch 2.3 he is non elite mob and so is his guard (a level 38-39 shaman) Or'kalar himself is level 40.
I soloed this with my level 38 paladin.

easy as a rogue sap the named mob- then pull the first from far you should not be in combat - repeat for second one. have fun. thank you blizzard for 2.3

soloed this as a prot pally at 36, just slapped on Judgement of Light and Seal of Light and watched his healthbar go down... slowly

I completed this solo with a lvl 40 Holy Paladin. I pulled the Lord next to him away and killed him. Then I attacked Or'Kalar, silencing him as I went. No problems at all, did not get attacked by his mob.

I solo'd this as a lvl 36 Blood Elf Prot Paladin. He had two lvl 39 shammy's with him, and I ended up having to run from them once. Focus on the shammy's first, they're easier to kill.

Solo'd it as a lvl 37 druid. Just stealth by all the mobs, kill him warstomp and heal real quick and then finish him and the add off. shouldn't be much of a problem.

Soloed as a lvl 36 holy priest. Approach Stromgard from the main entrance but don't enter. Follow the wall around to the right until you reach the broken wall that puts you right above the Shamans, & Lords. Enter the opening and turn left. Pull t & kill the single ogres as you move along the top of the wall. You shouldn't aggro any but the one you attack. Eventually you will get to the area with Or'kalar. All Non-elites. You will need to pass him, jump off the wall and kill each one individually. Start with the one in the corner and work your way back to Or'Kalar. Pull the closest one of his associates first, kill, then pull him. Once he is dead continue to work your way allong the wall toward the structure, killing as you go. I was able to jump back up to the top of the wall by jumping up in the corners. Got back out the same way I came in.

Soloed as a 35 warlock, hybrid aff/demo. Went through the hole in the wall, stayed on top of the wall, and pulled his guards one by one. Let imp pull and get aggro on mobs, then dot, when my threat exceeded that of the imp, I started fearing. Trick is that by that time the mobs had "climbed" the wall, and when feared would run back and forth along the wall, not aggroing anythng else. Was rather hard, imp died on the "boss", but certainly doable. Train with the level 38 and 39 ogres before attempting him...

soloed as a L33 hunter, coming in the back way (the hole around 21,70). he only had 1 shaman add; i sent my pet to attack the add, and kited Or'kalar by jumping up and down from the corner directly east of Or'kalar's position. the corner is between the outhouse (on the lower level) and the cooking pot (on the upper level). by going back and forth between the upper and lower levels, and using mend pet a few times, i was able to survive long enough to DPS Or'kalar down.

at that point, i suicided, then ran out around through the hole in the back of the ogre area, rezzing on the very top ledge. from there, it was a simple matter to run back out the way i'd come in.

He does no longer have any elite guards and is quite easily spankable ;) Just look out for patrols and multipulls and everything should be fine. He's situated near the big tower in the ogre part of Stromgarde keep. In Stromgarde there are several other quests, Call to Arms and Sigil of Strom for example, be sure to pick them up as well.

Also, watch out for rare elites, they hit hard and don't even have guaranteed green drops =S

Or'Kalar has THREE spawn locations. He has a near instantaneous respawn time. His corpse was still on the ground each time and he'd already be up again by the time I got to the next spot. Just check the other locations.

19.7,68.6 - Open building just East of the tower
18.7,66.3 - Open building just North of the tower
21.0, 65.5 - Open building NE of the tower on a rise above the courtyard

Can be soloed with a lvl 36 warrior IF he's in the right spawn location: go into Stromgarde through the hole in the back and pull him from the ledge. None of the other mobs aggroed when I did it.

Soloed this as a 37 holy priest. i went to the ledge above him and just killed him from there. i didn't aggro any of the mobs around him so it was real easy.

soloed as a 38 troll mage, didnt even realize i was attacking the boss til he was half dead, just sat back and frostbolted and didnt get touched. very easy also do http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=640,http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=673 and http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=679 whiile your in that general area.

Just completed it solo with a lvl 36 Rogue. Dead easy. He was surrounded by a lvl 40 Lord and a 38 Shammy. I found a place, 18.93, 64.84 which was clear in which to fight. Sapped Or'Kalar and pulled, with throwing knife, the Lord, to the above position. Finished the Lord off then got health up to max and pulled Or'Kalar to the same position. The Shammy never moved either time. This was when he was in the open area at 18.69, 66.29.

Leaving my comment in order to help out, I soloed this as a level 36 Rouge with all spec in Subtlety.

This quest was easy and fun, here's they way to Or'Kalar and how to kill him.

When you're entering Stromgarde Keep, take your first turn to the right, as you run forward you'll have two options which are either go straight forward in to a town of humanoids or turn left in to a place with Ogres, you should turn left.

You'll walk down a small hill and the only way after the hill is to the right, if you've made it there then you're on the correct path.

As a rouge I stealthed through all the mobs, sapping a few along the way, as you follow this path with many ogres around you, you should once again take your first right up a small hill, the hill has a house to the right of it.
If you've reached the tower then you've gone to far, take the right up the hill and then go left, at this point you should be able to see Or'Kalar who's level 40, beside him is a level 38 Shaman.

As I said this was very simple, I stealthed in, Sapped the Shaman and directly Ambushed Or'Kalar causing very much damage, almost half his health points. After gathering some points on him I used Eviscrate to finish the job, the Shaman is still Sapped.
I picked up his head which is the quest item and stealthed again, the Shaman did see me and casted one attack, I was hit and then used Vanish.

Very simple job as a Rouge, hope this helped you all, sap and ambush, and now I'm on my way to collect a finer sword then the one I had.

Or'Kalar, Mug'thol's pawn in Stromgarde, has an intense hatred for my husband, and wishes nothing more than my husband's death for defeating him years ago.

My auguries tell me that Or'Kalar has laid a trap for my husband, so I have hidden signs of the ogre's presence from him.

My husband will rush off foolishly if he learns of the ogre's whereabouts and I would ask for your help in slaying the creature.
