This quest is ludicrously easy. It can be performed at the lowest possible level. Three waves of Naga appear from behind the hill. One wave of three, one wave of two, and a final wave of three. They are all level 40.

Pay attention to the Captain, though, swabbie! He tells you to man the cannon. Head up the ramp to the ship and find the solitary cannon on the main deck. Right-clicking on this cannon while standing beside it will one-shot every Naga that appears in one fell swoop. Wait until the Naga are descending upon the defenders and fire. Every Naga will die instantly. After your three waves are done, collect your reward, matey!

This has to be the easiest quest in the game...no HP lost..No effort on my part what so ever...ok maybe to click the cannon fire...

Accept this quest (can do solo...see above comment). Run up on the ship and fire the cannon a few times. Every 4th shot naga will appear and be twarted on attack. Complete will insue. Great ring for free. Done and Done..

Would say Good Luck but you dont need it!!!

As of 4 April 2005:

Accept Quest. Run up plank to main deck of boat. As you get onboard, turn right and run to the cannon overlooking the dock.

You will see the Gear icon appear. Keep right clicking everytime the gear appears. Keep firing cannon. About every 4th time you fire some Nagas will appear and be killed. The last wave the Nagas will shout something as you fire and then die.

Complete quest for about 4k exp.

I just completed this quest, but did not read the text about manning the cannons! DOH! I was solo (lv 42, with pet) and got wasted before long. I noticed that the friendly NPC's kept killing the Naga, so I did not quickly hit the resurrect button ... I stayed there in spirit form and watched as the NPC's killed all the Naga ... and the quest completed!! So, if this happens to you ... do NOT rez out! Wait for the Naga to be killed!! You still have to come back and complete the quest with Shakes O'Breen, so hurry back! :)

rofl, HUGE glitch. i started the quest, went to cannon immediately, watched the ogre go up the hill and run back. i waited for about a minute and no naga came. i got off the boat and i completed the quest, rofl.

As of 8/20 The Naga do spawn properly. I didn't read about the cannon part, soloed the waves with little difficulty as a 41 lock.

at the moment the nagas are not spawning at all. nothing happens for a few mins and you then get quest complete.

I accepted the quest and manned the cannon. No Nagas came. Fired several shots, no Naga still. Abandoned quest. The Captain vanished and Naga arrived. Killed them, exited game, reloaded. Captain back in place, re-accepted quest, manned cannons, Nagas appeared . Boom dead repeat x 3 quest completed job done

To get this quest, you have to have completed all of the other quests offered here. This quest is easy, but at least 3 of the others require you to spend long periods underwater fighting level 38-39 mobs that will root you (in case you were thinking of surfacing for air, I'd imagine).

It's worth noting that you should NOT be tempted to jump down and fight these things - they'll end up swarming around and killing you. Tried this as a 44 rogue with Mechanical Dragonling and got punished.

A couple of these will spawn in the camp rather than on the little hill, but don't worry - the crew will take care of these. Just stick by the canon and pick off the Naga's that appear on the hill and this will be an easy quest.

Cannon didn't seem to work, but as 40 Moonkin, very easy solo anyway.

I just got done with it as a 46 paladin. The canon didn't seem to do anything to the Naga, so I jumped down and just killed them. Since they were only level 40 or 41 it wasn't much of a problem.

Cannon didn't work for me either so I jumped down and attacked. After 2 waves of 3 naga the quest was completed. Pretty simple.

I got completion after killing two waves, and while I was handing the quest in, a third wave came and attacked Shakes. Just a warning to hand it in quickly if you get completion after only two waves.

An interesting glitch occurred after i finished this quest on my warlock.

shortly after i turned in the quest, i turned to leave when i saw two more naga spawn. They ran into the camp as they would have during the quest, but since i couldnt use the cannon anymore i decided to watch. They killed the captain and one of the guards and then ran off and despawned.

Was bugged for me today but completed...

Started quest, went up to the cannon, used it, 1 naga died. A second, solitary, naga arrived (not waves), I sent hunter pet to kill and shot it with bow. Nothing for a while, I went to the hill, mission failed.

Started again, went up to the cannon, no mobs appeared, mission completed without doing anything.

I'd suggest just stand on the ship and use cannon if they appear, else just wait...

Just did this quest today, no nagas spawned and the quest completed. Oddly, after I turned in the quest to Shanks O'Breen, 2 level 40 Daggerspine Marauders spawned and attacked the camp.

A great quest area for leveling, easy 7k xp. :)

Shot one naga, then another solo naga, third one wouldn't die from cannon, engaged in melee, failed quest.

Redid quest, nothing happened, abandoned. captain vanished, naga appeared. Killed naga, relogged, killed more naga.

Accepted again, shot one naga, shot one naga, shot one ~~sherr~~ naga, shot three naga, dinner, shower, shot three naga, quest complete. No deputees were harmed.

I apparently had all the naga attack at once, and the cannon didn't seem to do anything. It also took about 3 minutes for them to even appear.

However as a level 40 paladin with a heirloom weapon, I didn't seem to have any trouble at all. I guess that will do.

Oh, and the quest completed itself before they even all died.

Did this today, meleed all the naga to death, didn't use cannon, then read about cannon here afterwards.
Not that hard really, time to bandage tween waves.

I did this on my mage and paladin (both lvl 41) yesterday and both times it was bugged. On my mage, I didn't realize I was supposed to man the cannon, so I waited on the ground by the captain and the soldiers. The naga never came so I reread the quest and then noticed that I was supposed to get on the cannon. I found it, fired it once and the quest completed. The naga never came.

On my paladin, I ran up to the cannon right away and waited for naga to come. Again, they didn't come so I started firing at nothing. About 8-10 shots later the quest completed. After turning it in, I ran over the hill to see if anything was there. I was immediately mobbed by by 2 naga, so I slaughtered them and went on my way.

I would say Blizzard should fix this, but it's so far out of the way, I am surprised anyone has found it. They probably forgot about it, or don't even care. I only found this area when I was working on 'Explorer' on my 80.

quest was quite bugged as of 6/20/2010.first attempt the mobs started down the hill i killed one( one shot, 80 ele shammy working on loremaster) the other two took off running, i went to follow them up they vanished,i came down the hill they showed back up then vanished and it said i failed.I checked wowhead to see the comment about the cannons so started again and went to ship waiting to use cannon, waited for a couple mins then saw nagas appear but the cannons would not work. i was able to jump off the sip and kill the wave that was there, after doing so it flashed accross my screen that I completed it and i turned it in only to turn around and kill a second wave of the nagas...

i dont know exactly how to tell u to fix this bug other then trying to drop it and restart if your naga run and maybe if at a low lvl bring a friend since you may have to fight them face on instead of using a cannon.

I completed this quest today, but had similar issues other people have posted about. I accepted the quest and then went up on ship to man the cannon. I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, the first Naga showed up. I fired the cannon and he was dead. I waited some more. A while later two more Naga showed up. I got one with the cannon, but had to hit the other myself. I then received the quest complete message. I turned in the quest and went afk for a bit. When I came back, I saw that Shakes was dead and three Nagas were responsible.

This says cannot be obtained or completed, but I just got it and completed it today. I had to wait a bit for the naga; it took them awhile to show up, but a couple shots from the cannon and O'Breen was safe. Weird, but nice after all the broken quests I found in Dwarf lands trying to go back and do the new zone achievements on my main :\

Still in game and completeable.
Just did it on a 27 hunter. It's a little buggy, but it's doable.
I died the first time, when I tried to kill them with my pet, died at the last wave. Second time I found the right cannon on the deck, shot 2 times, nothing happened. So I went up the hill, saw them coming, ran back to ship and when they came, shot once, and got q complete.
So the q is not like it supposed to be, but it's still there and u can complete it, even with a minor bug.

Just did this today, and noticed the loot is different as well. Not the rings. Cant remember all of them, but Vestes do Nabrava and Perneiras de Faldir were two of them.

i just completed this quest today so the"This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed." is not true 'cause i obtained and completed it , the only problem is that the cannon on the ship is missing it's animations and sound + the naga won't come after killing them, so to complete this quest you:
- accept it.
- go up to the ship, next to the cannon.
- once you see the first group of naga coming from over the hill you just activate the cannon and they should die (if you don't see the naga, walk up to the border of the ship in front of the cannon and they should come, if still not ,walk off the ship or try abandoning and re-accepting the quest).
- walk up to the border of the ship in front of the cannon and they should come again , activate the cannon and they should die.
- repeat this until the quest is complete.

Hmmm... odd. I just completed the quest. (Note my submission date.) As another member here said, the cannon "glitters" as if it can be used. It can't. Don't bother to go up the wooden ramp, waste of your time. I also had to physically help kill the invaders. Very easy at lvl 28.

I completed this quest today. I didn't obtain it today, it might have been a week ago or so. I couldn't find any cannon, so I just killed the attackers in hand to hand combat.

Active quest as of today, completed on lvl 36 warrior (although the cannons weren't usable, killed the nagas one on one). Rewards 13339 exp, +350 rep with Booty Bay, +175 rep each with Gadgetzan, Ratchet and Everlook, -350 rep with Bloodsail Buccaneers and Legguards of the Promising Hero.

This is bad. It seems the Daggerspines are amassing for an attack.

Naga are known for their ruthlessness in battle. They will keep attacking until I am dead.

I don't value my own life above that of my crew members, but you must help to defend me. The crew will not be able to make it back to Booty Bay without my knowledge of the seas.

The naga will be coming from the sea. I need you to remain up here with me to fend off the attack. Man the cannon and drive them back.
