There are a couple "types" of goblins there. This quest can become difficult really quick because:
- The goblins respawn fast
- They have a ranged fire (dynamite) attack
- They're small and hard to see and it's easy to pull 2
- There are "Supervisor" type mobs that wander the entire area, once again making multiple pulls (and death) easy if you don't watch closely

If you are soloing, I recommend staying out of the back cave area. You'll easily get overcome by respawns if you aren't killing fast enough. The quest is doable by staying on the outside area of the camp, and just moving left to right and killing the outer most mobs.

Screw this quest. The "Tinkerer" mobs can repeatedly spawn mechanical adds that are immune to just about everything. Repeatedly dying because your target can't be hurt isn't worth the crap mace or the fire wand.

The coordinates are about 40,43 Go up in the hills,west of the cave you will find Foreman, Strip Miner, Surveyor and Tinkerer..
Kill them and you will drop "Singing Blue Crystal".
This quest gives about 330 XP - 3300 XP.

You may wish to watch out for Shadowmaw Panthers getting to location 41, 41. They and Stranglethorn Tigresses are skulking about.

The dynamite ranged attacks are a pain; if you're in a group try and remain split up so that not everyone gets their spell interrupted! The dynamite can distract you long enough that the goblin can close the distance and start hitting you. I was taking between 190 - 220 damage on average from those attacks.

I would reiterate that the respawn rate here is *scary*. And the drop rate of crystals is low enough to become a little frustrating.

The dynamites didn't interrupt my druids spells at all.
Anyhow, since the goblins tend to run away in fear, make sure to stand between the goblin you're fighting and the other goblins, this mostly makes the goblin run in another direction and not straight into a bunch of mobs.
The low drop rate is really annoying.

The coordinates are a spot on key as listed above. I done this solo with a 38 warlock and only died once. There are about 3 or 4 goblins that spawn right off the road up the hill. I would suggest if your doing this solo not to venture any further up the hill. You can heal on the road and wait for them to repsawn. The respawn time is fairly quick and drop rate isn't to bad. Took me little over an hour to get all the crystals. Might as well kill the panthers and tigers you see before messing with the goblins.

Several people seemed to have a problem with the dynamite. It's relatively easy to dodge out of the way because it doesn't home in on you.

Its relative easy to dodge the dynamites, i did like this:
-Earth Shock
-Run away when he tosses the dynamite

If you did right, you will take no dynamite damage, the dynamites average damage is 200.

Although it's good to do this one in groups, the drop rate is soooooooooo low that it would take forever for all people to get the crystals.

Goblins are tough if you are below 40, pulls aggro very easy escpiccialy with tigers around you.

this is one tough quest. The mobs are tough and the drop rate is abismal. I've been at this for over an hour .. killed 37 kobolds for one drop. At least the xpr is climbing up.

I have been at this Quest for over an hour and i have only 1 drop and which did not come from the mobs at the mines it came from the Forman back at the VentureCo. Base Camp going back there to see if i get any more drops and if i do i will post it here.

ok well i went to the Venture Co. Base Camp and still nothing i even killed Forman Cozzle again and didnt get one so i guess you have to stay at the mines and do it the hard way

Drop rate was excellent, out of the 11 goblins i killed i got 10 Crystals :) I never went right up, stayed below where theirs about 5 of them, took them out one by one then waited for them to respawn and repeat. Lvl 39 hunter

Drop rate on this quest is absolutely horrible. Prepare to be here for a while....

Drop rate here is so low as to be insulting. I don't know where the 30% rate came from but I've been here at least an hour and I've seen two crystals - out of a truly genocidal number of kills. Oh, and the respawn rate can be summed up as "I'm doomed!", something I said frequently while fending off the goblins.

At 41.2,42.2 done quest and found chest ( 8silver, 3superior healing potion ).

Quest is easy, watch on the tinkerers, fireballs almost killed me.

Other coords are great, this is a great place for (prot) Paladins (41+) to do a little AoE grinding.

Just keep Seal/Judgement of Light/Wisdom up with blessing of sanctuary, and you can just keep going...

As a point, I had to kill 5 mobs in a row. One strip miner, then a tinkerer and his pet and then a second tinkerer and his pet, which spawned before the first pair were dead. Ran out of mana and had to wand a pet in the middle of the fight because I'd already used a mana potion and I needed the shadow bonus for a kill to regen mana. Singles were not hard for a L44 priest to kill, but the group of 4 right after I killed one was. Post 2.3, took about 40 kills to get 10 crystals. I was on the path, the advice about pulling them is right on.

the best place is actually at this is their actual base camp. The goblins here seem to be around level 35 or 36. I soloed this at level 42 as a hunter without any problems.

Dynamites are easy if you think better. They throw always to locked spot. After firing ranged spell, move forward, so dynamite miss you easy.

Don't know what your experience may be. Mine is this:

Three Toons AFTER 2.3 and the drop rate has to be by far the worst for any quest line I have ever accepted in all of WoW. I actually leveled past the quest level by grinding on those little green goobers waiting for Singing Blue Crystals to drop.

Imho - Not worth it. Do any other quest than this one.

This quest is really hard at any level!
When goblins have less 10% HP they run away and return with 5-6!!!

you have to be ready for these guys to run, use any slow/stun/entangling abilities your class has...If one does run, kill it as fast as possible and then get as close to the next mob he aggro'd* and pull that mob out into the open in case of running.
*You need to get really close to the next aggro'd mob because theres a very specific range at which they can use their dynamite ability which takes off around 200 hit points on my level 40.

On the plus side, if you are doing the Chapter quests. The goblins do drop a couple.

Just for the record, the drop rate ranges from 32-34%. Some of the named goblins and "The Surveyor" have VERY low drop rates. Should probably get a crystal every three or four kills.

The drop rates on this are fairly skewed in these posts.

Checking my Windfury timers, it took me a total of 15 minutes of goblin murder to get all 10 crystals, really it's not all that bad unless you rush headlong in, or aren't good at dealing with runners.

I can't find them... I went to the EXACT coordinates as stated several times above and there were no goblins there... horrible quest.

Just wanted to add that I pulled several that had Devotion Aura on them. The Surveyors hit hard but use mana. Hunters, use Viper sting if you have it and Arcane shot on these.

The Venture Company has a string of operations through Stranglethorn which keeps hard-working goblins, like me, from making honest gold! Please, you must help me!

The Venture Company is mining near the Crystalvein Mine to the north. They can't get into the mine because of all the basilisks, but they're still able to dig up Singing Crystals from the surrounding hills.

Take their crystals from them, and show them they don't have the run of the jungle.

And... um... bring me those crystals as proof!
