This is a very simple quest in STV, just kill snapjaws throughout the zone for the quest items. They have a decently high drop rate. Lake Nazaferiti near the Venture Co. Base Camp is an excellent place to find the snapjaw crocs.

Didn't drop from the first 8 crocs, then 5 in a row for me.

Fairly high droprate. took me 2 laps around the lake with no competition for the basilisks.
took me about 11 kills to get 5.

For the sake of time, you should also consider doing "Hostile Takeover" (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=213) by killing the goblins at the nearby camp, and "Goblin Sponsorship" (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1182).

Note that Goblin Sponsorship is a chain quest that begins at the Mirage Racetrack in Shimmering Flats (Eastern Thousand Needles, north of Gadgetzan).

1750xp as of 2.3. Drop rate was around 1 in 4 for me.

Didn't drop for the first 4-5 or so, then 5 in a row. I was around the south-west stream leading into the Lake.

I've killed at least 30 of these bastards and still no cigar. I have the quest so whats the deal! this drop rate is the worst!

I must have killed over 20 crocs and only got 4 drops. Nice Med/heavy leather from them there crocs.

The cords are 40.6 ,15.2

I've gone up and down the river and killed all the crocs on the lake that i could see and i've only got 1. Either i have bad luck or the drop rate has been seriously reduced.

After killing 40 of these crocs around the Lake still havn't gotten a single skin so deleted the quest. Either this piece of crap time wasting quest is broken or the people here claiming they got 5 skins from first 5 crocs are complete liars.

Avoid this quest, Blizzard must have hired Brad McQuaid to design it.

According to the quest log itself, we are supposed to gather the croc skins from around Lake NazFeriti itself.

I found that the drop rate was significantly higher when I was in proximity to the lake, rather than going up and down the river.

I just stayed around the lake. I killed all the ones i could find around it and didn't get any skins. Then when i went back around, I got three in a row. After a few more kills, about five or six, I got my last two. Just stick with it, it only took me about 15 minutes, maybe less.

I just kept running around Lake Nazferiti, killing any Snapjaw Crocolisks i saw. According to my MobInfo addon, it is a 29% drop rate (5/13 crocolisks)... but it felt like i killed more than 13 crocs

Dropped on five of twelve Snapjaw Croc kills. Stay in the vicinity of the Venture Co. Operations Center, on both sides of the lake. If you go too far upriver or downriver you'll encounter Crocolisks, but not Snapjaws. 40,15 and south to the lake's end is fine.

5/13 drop rate, didnt take long just stick to circling the lake, by the time you have done a circuit they will have re-spawned.

This quest can be completed in the latest patch as well as it's counterparts.

I just completed the quest on patch 5.3, I don't know why it says it's obsolete.

Well, I've got the basic shape of the boots worked out, and they're coming along fine, but the skins you brought aren't going to be quite enough for the inner layers.

"What are we going to do, Drizzlik?" No doubt the question on your lips, and well, isn't it lucky you're talking to Drizzlik, because he's going to tell you what we're going to do!

The inner layers will never really be seen, so we'll just get some of the thicker, cheaper skins from the crocs around Lake Nazferiti to fill the boots out.
