The shards are the small red things on the ground next to the boss (Alzzin the Wildshaper). It is not he whole vine itself and they do NOT sparkle like normal quest items.

Maybe a bug but the moment I turned this quest in i stayed at 689 and didnt seem to count, must be a bug or something.

The boss you need for this quest is named "Alzzin the Wildshaper" and can be found within the east part of Dire Maul.

Wrong, wrong and indeed wrong.

You DO NOT need to clear Dire Maul West to clear Dire Maul East. Infact to be correct you need to clear DM East first as that is where you will get the Crescent Key needed to open the door to DM West.

You need to kill Zevrim Thornhoof in order to be able to talk to Old Ironbark who will 'open' the door to Alzzin. Fastest way to get to him is through the back door at the Lariss Pavilion (approx 76,37) if you have already acquired the Crescent Key from a previous run.

this is not true, i completed the quest today. it DOES count for the loremaster achievement.

I just want to warn everyone when u fight the boss near the flower lets call it, as soon he falls down, alot of trash will spawn, as i killed them, they felt and covered the entire area and i could not see the shards on the floor , not even click on them, so just an advice, when the flower dies, some shards will be on the floor, and those which u are to pick up, so fight the trash a bit away from the flower.

This was my last quest for Loremaster.

In doing my Loremaster achievement there is no need for Crescent Key that I have found for this quest. this can be done in a few easy steps, an in and out operation at lvl 80.

Step 1: Zone in through DM East Front Door (Eldereth Row) and jump straight down to south side of lower area in first room (may want to use some kind of fall breaker I didn't but it did about 10K damage)
Step 2: Go to your right through the door and into the room there. Criss cross room to right side and go up ramp on the north side of the room.
Step 3: Kill Zevrim Thornhoof and go back to where you jumped down.
Step 4: Talk to Old Ironbark and he will smash door go down hallway and kill Alzzin loot crystals on ground by the vine behind him.

I didn't kill anything in Alzzin's room but after he died a bunch of imps and plamts attacked me so be prepared if you go that route. GLHF!

In your adventures leveling via the LFD tool, you will no doubt be sent to Dire Maul - East at some point. This is a handy chunk of free exp if you pick up the Felvine Shard and start up the quest with Rabine Saturna later on. Keep in mind that he does not have the standard yellow ! above his head, you need to follow his conversation text before he offers the starting quest.

With this in your inventory - all you have to do is go to Silithus and pick up the reliquary, profit! As other people noted already you do NOT need to be on the quest chain to pick up the Felvine Shard, but you do for the reliquary.

While the quest is in progress, Rabine Saturna says a few words, but ends with "I know Milli would have had it no other way..."

Which leads one to the question, who's Milli?

This statement is incorrect. I just completed this quest with no problem. The shards are in the same place they always were.

I successfully completed this quest today, so it ain't obsolete and is still obtainable.

At the last boss in Warpwood Quarter, there is a plant with some small purple shiny things on the ground. Those are the ones you need to complete the quest.

As of January 2015 you are able to complete this quest.

The boss you need for this quest is named "Alzzin the Wildshaper" and can be found within the east part of Dire Maul. You can pick up the shards off the floor near the tunnel to exit and then click on the reliquary of purity in your inventory. Go back to the entrance to turn the quest in....and there you go!

Find the Felvine in Dire Maul and acquire a shard from it. Chances are you'll only be able to procure one with the demise of Alzzin the Wildshaper. Use the Reliquary of Purity to securely seal the shard inside, and return it to Rabine Saturna in Nighthaven, Moonglade.

Your knowledge of Eldre'Thalas - Dire Maul - in Feralas will now come into play, <name>. In the eastern part of the ruined city is where Alzzin the Wildshaper has exerted his corrupt dominion. Go there with all due haste and brave whatever challenges await you.

The Fruit of Fertility, now corrupted as the Felvine, should be close to Alzzin. When he falls, capture whatever essence of the Felvine you can. Seal it in the Reliquary, and bring it to me.

Good luck, and Cenarion's speed.
