Two of us went to do this one last night, 36 mage and 34 druid. We went around Dalaran to the north and followed the lakeshore to the house where Nagaz is. (We picked up the Shadow Mages earlier in Strahnbrad while doing another quest) There's a house about halfway along the lakeshore with a couple of elites in it, so don't get caught off guard there. We cleared out the syndicate mobs near the house where Nagaz is, and pulled out the two syndicates inside the house, Nagaz did not aggro with them which was a little odd. Lastly we pulled him out and finished him off, but around then the mobs started to respawn again. This happened rather quickly I thought, so don't waste any time while doing this, do it and get out.

Nagaz is at 39,14 -. Head North from the town and head toward the lake. The lake is full of Snapjaws. At 36 it's tough, as the assassins and Nagaz himself is 40. Annoying, since the Mages are so easy.

The asassins are 38-40, so you might get lucky.

38 tank warrior and 38 holy priest. Not much trouble. If you can draw the guards away you fight Nagaz on his own straight through the door of the building.

I soloed this as a 38 prot pally and found it extremely easy. There are two stealthed assassins, levels 38-40, outside the house (coordinates listed above are correct). They can be pulled one at a time.

Inside the house are two mobs; for me, I found an assassin and an enforcer. (I assume this is random.) I'm a pally, so no ranged attacks. I managed to inch forward far enough to aggro them and run out of the house without getting Nagaz as well.

Alone, Nagaz is a very quick and easy fight. I've done this same thing before on other toons and made the mistake of rushing in and getting pwnt. If you take it slow, though, it's quite easy.

I tried to do this quest as 38 shadowpriest and found it surprisingly difficult - so difficult, in fact, that I gave up after three or four deaths.

Those assassins and enforcers around the house respawn damn fast, but I could clear them all. The I pulled those two from inside the house (without Nagaz) and started pounding them. I couldn't fear them, because they would aggro all other mobs around the house, so I shielded. I nuked the assassin, which was rather easy, but that enforced kept me busy so I had to fear him. He aggroed another enforcer and another assassin. By that time one of the assassins that I killed earlier respawned, so I had two enforcers and two assassins on my neck, which made my death rather quick and uninteresting.

As I've said, I gave up after three or four death with the same reason - too many mobs.

I wonder how could you guys do it so easily, namely fishrem (33 priest? wtf?!).

Solo'd 37 feral druid, killed him and 2 guards no prob, only healed once(regrowth+rejuv) and frenzy regen

Soloed as lvl 37 arms&fury warrior

1. Get onto the small hill beside the house.
2. Pull the enforcer on the left with bow, finish him/her
3. Move closer, pull the first assassin with bow when she/he's spotted
4. Do it to the second one
5. Body pull the assassin in the house, she/he will bring out an enforcer.
6. Activate Retaliation, switch to Defense Stance, disarm enforcer, back to battle and smash the enforcer, then the assassin.
7. Charge at Nagaz, if you're lucky you won't aggro yet another enforcer in the house(to your left near the stairs)
8. Finish him.

Warning: If you need to regain health, use bandages or spells(but not healing potions). Do NOT sit on the ground and eat... the mobs there respawn fast.

Nagaz: 39,14 in Alterac Mountains.

He is in the house directly in front of you as you walk in, right next to a Worn Wooden Chest that you'll need to use.

Soloed as a lvl 36 mage. Used mage water/food which is behind bought water/food and only had to kill one respawn. Sheep one mob, nuke the other, and run till the other resets. Rinse and repeat until you get Nagaz all by himself.

Solo'd as 35 shadowpriest. The Shadow mages are in Strahnbrad and are easy. Nagaz is trickier.

Cleared outside first, was tricky because of the stealthers. There are 1 enforcer and 1 assasin inside the house. Pulled the enforcer, nuked him, feared, killed him, then ran. Killed the assasin when he was alone. Pulled Nagaz himself, he resists alot when you are low level but thankfully he didnt resist my fear and I had luck he didnt pick up adds.

You can do Noble Deaths while you do this

Don't run or hearth back to Southshore to turn this quest in. Follow the road east and up to Chillwind Camp in Western Plaguelands, grab the flight point and fly back. It's much quicker and adds a flight point to your list.

Locations above are confirmed...best spot to solo the Mages is 56,26. I have done this with a hunter, paladin, and mage.

First: Kill the Sentry walking back and forth.

Second: Attack the mage right past the saboteur and burn him quickly then kill the Sab.

(All other locations require multiple pulls or dealing with more than two at a time and with the fast respawn rate it is tougher.)

Third: Heal if neccessary. Kill the 2nd Saboteur. Return to step one.

I just soloed him as 37 arcane mage.
I just pulled the mobs one at a time, and then killed him last.

Found him on Drandred's Fold in Alterac....

Easy to fight with level 45 warlock and voidwalker..

Also do Noble Deaths while there!!!

I soloed as a 36 Shaman.
I was able to pull the 2 guards in front of Nagaz w/o pulling him and then it was easy to take him down.
I got the Shadow Mages in Strahnbrad while doing Noble Deaths.

Soloed as lvl36 Enhancement Shaman. Water Shield and Healing Wave means you can even pull Nagaz and both of his adds. Finished with 90% health and 60% mana, was a pretty short fight too, considering they were 4 levels higher.

soloed 35 affliction warlock, after 3 tries

used voidwalker as tank, pull the assassins out first, after finishing them, go against kagaz, really hard fight, kept spamming DOT while vw is tanking, use health funnel to keep the vw alive. close call

The Shadow Mages are, strangely, not social with the Syndicate mobs around them.

Did this solo as a 40 warrior. Pretty easy, just make sure you don't aggro any others.

Solo'd as 36 shadow priest. if anyone hasn't said it, Nagaz is 40 non-elite, as are his goons.

These mobs seem to have high shadow resistance.

Soloed easily as a 36 Warlock with a Void Walker up. Cleared out the surrounding stealthed assassins one at a time, grabbed the two inside with him at the same time (as mentioned before, he did not agro with them) then him. Piled on the DOTs, a couple of Shadow Bolts and it was done.

Just completed this quest, solo'd at lvl 35 Rogue and I have to say, I didn't have much trouble. For a quest that was in the red for me, I'm very impressed with how it turned out. When killing Nagaz, sap the assassin at the entrance to the house, then stealth all the way up to Nagaz. Run behind him until you are right at the back. When the assassin awakens from the sap, he/she will not see you and you can kill Nagaz with ease.

I soloed this quest as a Level 35 protection Paladin. I first went up to Strahnbrad to kill the Argus Shadow Mages. Located at 63;44. Then go up to Dandred's Fold just northwest of Strahnbrad and you will find Nagaz inside of a house. I started by killing the hidden rogues in the area, ( there are quite a few) then I used my Hand of Reckoning to aggro. Nagaz out of the house with out the mob following him. So it was a nice 1-on-1.

I soloed with a 36 human rouge.I died 2 times but i made it. First u must kill the syndicate assasins around the house and the patroling guard.At the end i ended up with just Nagaz left.It wasn't a hard fight.Once i killed him and looted him i used sprint and runed away like hell because guard started to respawn.

I hope that this will help someone :).

PS:
I saw no adds around him so it was easy.

second PS:
I was playing on the Burning crusade.

The letter you brought me was written by a being who calls himself Nagaz, a member of the Argus Wake. I don't know what this Argus Wake is, but if they're in alliance with the Syndicate then they must be a threat.

I want you to find Nagaz and the Argus Shadow Mages mentioned in that letter. I want you to find them, and kill them.

Search in the Uplands, where the Syndicate is strongest. It is north of Strahnbrad.

With luck, you'll find these envoys of the Argus Wake there.
