Found him in the basement of the tavern located in Strahnbrad.
1 gold and 3.9k at 44 for 10 minutes questing
Found him at 47,17 easy kill, had to take out five of his buddies to get to him.

Like the quest notes say, he can also be found in the camps to the north of Strahnbrad. While there are usually around 10 mobs around each camp, they can be easily pulled. I was able to solo this at lvl38 with no problems at all.

38 tank warrior and 38 holy priest. Found the baron in the camp farthest west. Not too bad, having a healer with the warrior made it quite easy.

39 Draenei Shaman, killed one mob in front of him, pulled him. He didn't even take me down 100 health. 47,17 correct coords. Probably could be done at level 37.

Yep.... found him exactly at 47.17. But it is not the basement of the Inn..... it's a camp (northwest) and he is right in the middle of it.... Clearing the camp will make you get him as well. He is just an ordinary mob. Have fun :)

While a friend of mine earlier found him near Strahnbrad, I was not quite so lucky. I found him tucked away in the western-most Syndicate camp in The Uplands, surrounded by about six-seven others: archers, casters, and plain ol' axe-swingers. After two abortive attempts at whittling down his bodyguards (one death, one ignominous retreat) I settled on just picking off a few followers before focusing on him directly. Once I cleared out a quadrant of the camp, I sent my Voidwalker in to solo the Baron and then I laid on as much firepower on him as I can. He is a caster and does not have that much staying power. Lay the hurt on him fast and he'll be toast. Once he was down, I performed a "loot & scoot" and then abandoned my pet to the mercy of his guards as I ran.

Found him at a camp at 55,27

I found him in the uplands in the last camp before the farm area with the house.
I think he can spawn in a few places but it was easy for me, soloed as a level 41 druid, just prowled around all the recommended places looking at my mini-map with track humanoids on.
Found him and just killed him quick, just letting the guards around him kill me, died but had the head in-hand so couldn't complain...

i found this guy in the 2nd syndicate camp outside Strahnbrad ..... watch out there lvl 37- 40 i think oh ya its in the uplands

I found him at 53, 20 in the back, did the quest late and with no problems at all at lvl 45 haha.

The contract you recovered was signed by Baron Vardus, a noble of the former kingdom of Alterac, and one known for a cold heart and brutal practices. I'm not surprised someone like the Baron was behind this.

Find this man. Find him, and bring him to justice. He must be among the Syndicate haunts - perhaps at the ruins of Strahnbrad, or perhaps within the valley north of them.
