For those without a coordinate addon, on the road from Camp Taurajo to Crossroads, there's a bridge that crosses a dried up river bed. To the soutwest of that bridge there are a pair of huts or houses. Inside one of those huts is a body, that body is Mankirk's wife.

Quest is fairly easy. The only hard thing is running. It's pretty far, but the silver is worth it. Their might be a ornery plainstrider near the huts which can attack you.

Easy :D Follow the road south from the crossroads.. You will see a golden dot on your mini map to your right. If you got to Camp Taurajo. Although it is very close to it.

This quest has probably caused more Barrens related jokes than any other. Hardly a minute can go by without a person asking, "Where is Mankruks wife lol!?"

The above posters are correct. If you follow the road south you will eventually cross a small bridge. Very near the bridge are a group of small huts. The beaten corpse is inside one of the huts. Make sure to click on the corpse!

A good idea to complete this while you're running south to pickup the Camp Taurajo and Thunderbluff flightpaths.

Maybe it's just the new patch, but I didn't get a gold mark on my mini map. It's right where they're saying. just a Raptor or 2 gaurding it.

Mankrik's wife is at 49, 50. She is listed as "Beaten Corpse" if i remember correctly.

Clearly, if it's a BEATEN corpse, the only explanation is that she ran into Chuck Norris as he was PvPing in the area. He saw her ugly green face, and gave her a good round house to the neck, killing her instantly. Saurfang and his axes can't top that.

bah, on cataclysm most likely we get to find Mankirk's lover.

and she's not the beaten corpse, she's the deep-fried corpse. and to find her we gotta climb the mountain that separates barrens from mulgore.

You turn the body over and see the marks from blades and spells upon the deceased orc--her armor all but destroyed, her hair matted to her face.
Based on Mankrik's description of her, there is no doubt in your mind that this was his wife.
He will be upset by the news, but you are sure he should know the truth.

I inspect the body further.

The body is that of a female orc warrior.
It is clear that she died in battle, probably against the quilboar in the area.

Quite possibly the most hardcore quest in the history of WoW. Blizzard had to delete it because it was literally too difficult for all but the elitest of elite raiders to finish.

I just introduced a cousin to WoW and I'm kind of sad that he'll never be able to revel in the tear jerking frustration involved in finding Mankrik's wife.

I was more proud of finding her than I was of clearing AQ40.
(I found her about the same time too. Never gave up the quest and just happened upon a body while out farming herbs.) I was ecstatic.

We battled in a small tauren camp when we were separated--she held three of the Bristlebacks off by herself. But the odds began to overwhelm us. I led some away only to see her overwhelmed by newcomers. In my rage, I turned to face my enemies, but they brought me down easily with their vast numbers.

I awoke to a tauren druid tending my wounds--he had come across me on the Gold Road as I fell.

Please, <class>, find some sign of my wife.
