FYI: As a rogue, you can stealth back out with the cat. It doesn't seem to pull aggro.

After returning to Winna Hazzard with the corrupted cat, you must talk to the pet to continue the quest. Until you do this, Winna will have a gray question mark above her head.

Also, be quick about talking to the cat. Once you are close enough to Winna Hazzard, the cat stops and no longer follows you. The cat will despawn quickly so be sure to talk to it quickly otherwise you'll be doing the whole thing over again.

This quest is horrid solo as it's almost impossible to lead the cat out alive even if you clear the whole area first as it only takes one respawn to one shot kill it.

I had read that the best way to do this (solo) is to clear a spot in the back, release the cat, then hop on your mount and purposely train as many mobs on to you as possible while leaving the area. The theory being that the cat would follow you and all the mobs in your path would already be hitting you leaving your cat alone. I tried this about 10 times last night and every time sooner or later the cat would attempt to defend me and since I wasn't fighting back, draw aggro, and die instantly.

I chose a much longer and more tedious method: I cleared the back spot, released the cat, then hopped off of the side of the mountain into Darkshore. I avoided all the mobs and fled the Alliance controlled zone ASAP then slowly rode through Ashenvale and back to Winna carefully steering clear of any mobs.

Another note: When you get back you must talk to the cat to release it before talking to Winna and claiming your reward.

well the quest is easy at all,but it takes much time to do this because if you are not a rogue,you have to kill many mobs to reach at the well

i just ran and ran and ran at was at the well and all mobs dropped aggro! easy quest! solo as lvl 51 pally!

FYI- the tip above does not work, you cannot mount and ride through the mobs. the cat disappears as soon as you get on your mount, or something. i just know that it does not work, i tried 4 times :P- secondly... this stupid cat has a timer apparently... because i got to bloodvenom post with it and was tlaking on guild chat for a moment before i turned it in and the stupid thing transformed back into a regular cat. if you arent a rogue and dont have the advice i just gave you abandon this stupid quest.

I was with group of 3 and i returned with teh cat and was unable to turn it in for some reason, not sure..

tried a second time no horse, by myself and the cat disappears after about 1 minute. A couple of guildies had similar issue with it and redid it successfully but I submitted bug. 5-17-07

the "Normal White Kitten" just sat there in the middle of the pool... how do you get it to get corrupted?

It's a easy quest to solo, u will get a Cat Cage in your back pack. go to the moon well where you was from last quest, use the cat cage at the moon well, if u have problems with Xavathras(level 54) you just go to left of moon well, u don't need to kill him. when you use the cage u will get a Corrupted Saber with you, just mount up and run back to the quest giver Winna Hazzard, when u are at the quest giver just talk to the cat and u will complete your quest, soloed as a 51 paladin

Very easy quest as a rogue, only problem I had was getting ganked by a mage on the way to hand it in...

So you know, if you die while you have the corrupted saber, you will have to abandon the quest an re-get it. So just be careful. Cat does not despawn when mounted so either that got patched... or y'all have some bad luck.

If you're a pet class, you need to dismiss your pet before being able to talk to the corrupted cat.

soon as it turns into a saber mount up and go turn in the quests bc your pet doesnt get attacked and stays on you the whole time

and im a ret pally with 15% more speed and it still kept right behind me

Had to do the quest over. I was following a questing guide and it did not tell me I had to click Winna real quick after clicking the cat. It was only a few seconds and the cat vanished. :(

first right click "Winna" to open chat window...than right click the cat " Winna window won't close "

Yeah good info guys, Yeah i went in didn't even clear around Pool, Just let cat go, He got big, I mounted, Ran out got chased by alot of mobs but kept going and cat followed, 32,66 was good cords.

On my 1st attempt, cat did not follow me out of the pool and disappeared soon after. Once again, an excellent job by Blizzard.

As for the advice here, it's contradictory.

I right clicked Winna and cat immediately disappeared.

And btw... If YOU happen to die, the cat disappears and you can't summon it back. You need to abandon the quest and re-take it.

lol to easy of a quest... i stood there for 5 seconds for instant Xp. wanna know how? some1 came up to her with a cat and i just talked to it and the quest was complete LOL. fun fun fun

Completed on 6/23/08 without any glitches--the saber followed me on my mount all the way back to the post with no problem. Quest easily soloed (using caution) as a 54 frost mage. Appreciate the comments about talking to the cat first and *then* talking to the quest giver upon returning.

Hunters, feel free to mount to the moonwell, feign death, release the cat, mount out, feign death again, and run back. worked like a charm for me. Cat didnt try attacking anything, oddly enough.

Whatever you do DO NOT spawn the cat on-top of rocky terrain or one of those mushrooms, the cat will freeze there and not follow you.

return to moonwell at 32.66 and open cage than escort tainted tiger back to quest giver at 34.52 and talk to her and than tiger and you get the complete

Soloed this on my level 52 Rogue, only had to kill two Satyrs, more for cloth than anything else. Being able to slip into stealth makes it an incrediably easy quest, as the cat has no aggro. After completion I recieved 250 rep with Undercity.

Just like good ol' Cringer, it won't even think about pulling any aggro. It's a shame it can't be kept as a pet or at least a vanity pet (not to mention mount.... "Gooooooo, Cringer! To battle!" "Battle? I'm getting out of here!")

I've tested that the cat, as a non-combat pet, has a 30 minute duration before it drops dead. I dragged it through Ashenvale to the Barrens to the Tidus Stair turn-in with the corrupted moonwell water, and rode it to Orgrimmar for a little face-time. Had a few people boggle at how I tamed it, despite me not being a hunter.

the moonwell is at 32,66. Use " Winna's Kitten Carrier" near the moonwell and you create a tiger. after that you walk back to Winna Hazzard and right click on tiger and click the only option and ur done! =)

cat has over 10K HP he is a no agro pet. As of current patch you will see above... You CAN mount with him while you run..makes it quick. I had no troubles at all just run back up...being stealth sure does help.

This used to be the worst escort quest in the game. The cat was once a level 5 pet that would aggro adds from offscreen.

Now, as of Patch 3.2.2, cat is your level, gets NO aggro, and follows you when you mount. Mine had 22k health and kept pace with a 100% speed ground mount.

You better make it quick. After a certain amount of time (15 minutes?) the cat disappears.

Yeah this quest bugged on me, after the cat grew larger and left well, the return cat to winna quest circle stayed where the well was. the cat the followed me back to winna, and dissapeared. I'm gonna try it again D:

I still cant get this quest to work. It says bring it back to Winna, but the WoW Map Icon is not where Winna is at.

this is really weird i was at the well and i released the cat. it still remained in its old form which is small and white. standing on the well water doesnt do anything as well.. help! but something really weird happened.. it actually fought for me and made a loud hissing (of a big cat) perhaps its just a graphics bug... but when i reach back to the winna, the quest is still incomplete... and one more thing if u happen to have the same prob then congrats! if u summon ur own non-combat pet out, u'll have 2 pest! i dunno for hunter if this happens to u, will u have 2 combat pets!

For all of those that cant do the quest, did you guys accept it pre-cata? becaue as of cataclysm the quest no longer exsists so you cannot finnish it.
