Don't forget to pick up the ledger - you don't get it automatically. It appears in front of the outhouse. You can talk to him again if you miss it.

The leg shafts drop from Glassweb Spiders in Searing Gorge. The Overdue Package is in Dustwallow Marsh, and the sword is by the eastern coast of Swamp of Sorrows, carried by a named murloc. Check the links in the quest description above for exact positions.

For the Solid Crystal Leg Shafts that drop off of the Glassweb Spiders, you are going to want to try to aviod criting if at all possible, since you will get more off of them if you don't crit. They might have changed this in a patch, but I just did it and seemed to get more when I didn't crit.

The Godsteel Ledger is outside the outhouse.
The Leg Shafts are off of spiders in searing gorge
The Overdue Package is 54,55 in Dustwallow Marsh.
Godsteel's Balanced Flameberge is 91,66 in the Swamp of Sorrows.

The Leg Shafts are the hardest part here. I farmed them for about 15 minutes before I got the 20. Most would drop 1 at a time but some do drop 3 and 4's at a time.

5050 xp for some time farming and a fairly decent wand.

The sword "Goodsteel's Balanced Flameberge" drops off of the named murloc right outside of the turtle house at 94, 52 in swamp of sorrows

Ok, once you get the book that is laying outside the out-house, everything you need to know is in the book. But if you haven't done quests that have had to do with these areas, then here:
-The Glassweb Spiders can be found all over around the out-house. They do use Poison, which only lasts for a few minutes. But if you are a rogue or druid and a fan of stealthing to each attack, then bring Antipoisons, for this poison attack WILL break a stealth. The drop rate's not too high but each spider drops 1-4 legs per kill.
-Next head to Dustwallow Marsh. The package you need is at exactly 54,55.
-Next go to the Swamp of Sorrows. You're off to find Jarquia. Hes a purple murloc at the lvl of 46. He can be found from 94,50 to 94,61. Kill Jarquia and you have your weapon.
-Lastly, go to Gadgetzan,Tanaris. Go to Krinkle Goodsteel and you've finished.

I overlooked the "Goodsteel Ledger" because it blended in with the terrain. When you talk to the person in the outhouse it appears beneath you on the ground.

If you've missed it you can talk to the person again and it will reappear.

ok the coordinates up above are wrong i spent like 15 minutes there and he never spawned
the correct coordinates are 93,51

Apparently Jarqaiu spawns in a couple of places in between 91,66 and 94,52 along the beach, so if you just walk down that stretch of beach you should find him.

Easy way to get the Overdue Package is the shortcut over the mountains. Swim East from Theramore Isle to 56, 53, cross the mountains, turn South and it's right there waiting for you. All you have to worry about are a couple 40-41 mobs in the water and some 40-41 mobs near the crash site.

The solid crystal leg shafts have a terrible drop rate now. I've been killing the spiders for at least half an hour and I'm still not finished. I'm a rogue, and the spiders are ten levels below me, so I've killed many of them in that time. Unless you absolutely need the xp and you need to travel to the other zones for other quests, I would recommend skipping this quest.

Drop rate off glassweb spiders is really not as bad as claimed. Most drop 2+ legs. My rate was 20 in 28 kills. For a kill-for-drop quest that's pretty good.

This is a tedious quest and takes as long as some chain quests. It's good to get the quest and do other quests in the zones as you travel.

Droprate is MUCH better than it used to be after 2.3

The actual droprate hasn't changed but now some of the spiders drop 4 legs instead of just one.

That's my experience with the 2 chars I've been doing that quest since 2.3.

Also as mentioned:

Get the legs
Fly to Swamp of Sorrows and get the Sword
Fly to Booty Bay, take the boat to Ratchet
Fly to Dustwallow March get the crate
Fly to Tanaris

Just finished this quest...pretty simple if you don't cross continent for the gathering.

Start in searing gorge and kill glass spiders, and also grab book at quest giver, then kill jarquia in Swamp of sorrows, then head over to dustwallow marsh and grab package at 54,55 confirmed.

Pretty decent return for time invested, and good transition into Tanaris quests.

Seems to me that the droprate has bin increased.
Did this quest today and got in 4 kills 4 legs each.
Then one spider was empty and after 6 kills i had all 20.
Can't speak of a horrible drop rate :)

The exp rate is wrong. I just got 2900 exp from this quest, not 7200.

I wasn't quite that good with my droprate.

Still, 20 items from 13 kills is better than any other drop quest I've done so far.

Upon completion of The Key to Freedom, this quest wasn't offered, neither was Caught!. Possibly changed in 3.0.8.

■192 reputation with Booty Bay
■193 reputation with Everlook
■385 reputation with Gadgetzan
■193 reputation with Ratchet

I did the quest with a level 47 Warrior.

For the overdue package, there is a cut in the hill by Nat Pagle you can use to cut a lot of time off your journey by swimming down to Nat from Theramore. It's just south west of Nat.

FYI I'm assuming anyone Hated with Gadgetzan can't turn this in, as the quest-turn-in person is affiliated with them.

If you are going for Insane The Membrane don't worry, turning in this quest will NOT lower your Bloodsail.

Without a racial bonus, you'll get:
Gadgetzan +350
Booty Bay +175
Everlook +175
Ratchet +175
Bloodsail NO CHANGE
