You need a Mithril casing to go on to the Final part of the quest which are made by 215 engineers.

Be very careful if you decide to buy a Mithril Casing. The reward for finishing the quest line is only 1g 60s and XP. If Mithril Casing's are selling for a over 2g buy the mats Mithril Ore or Bars and ask an Eng to make it for you.

The important thing to weigh out is not only the price, but the XP. If completing the mission gets you your level than to me its worth it.

I would not "be very careful" about buying a Mithril Casing. Regardless of the fact that gold in Outland is vastly more plentiful, even by old world standards, the price of a Mithril Casing is low. Take this from someone who has farmed for their epic flying mount, and has always had enough gold for the prior mounts. Upon levelling up my 2nd character on a different server, I have a different perspective to gold in this game, and in my opinion, losing 40 silver or even more, is well worth it to gain 3950 exp at this level, considering it will help me get to Outland faster.

Definitely worth buying the mithril casing (which cost me 3g50 off the AH) because apart from the 5,700xp you get for activating the robot you then get the next quest which is to escort the robot back to base; it's not very far and if you have cleared all the apes on the way in you don't bump into much difficulty on the way out.
On return of the robot you get an additional 9,500xp.
This was at lvl 50.

If you have the addon QuestHelper it will tell you to get mithril casing in Gadgetzan. And other places you will see it say this is sold by a vendor. It is not. You must get it on AH.

Currently Mithril Casing ran a little under 4g on my server.

QuestHelper tells you Gadgetzan because that is the closest engineer trainer; as if you would suddenly pick up engineering just to make a mitril casing for this quest. The vendor "sightings" comes from: quote Aricitic, "When on private servers any addons you have continue working. I suspect that this was placed here because someone who was playing on a 'private' server (in quotes because they accessed it across a network making it an unsanctioned public server) with the Thottbot addon. The addon picked up this NPC and placed it here.
This has happened with other NPCs and possibly spells as well... "

Jemccrystal says that the mithril casings aren't sold by the vendors, but they are, only sometimes. Different hours etc, it's just like with certain recipees for things it says that there's 1 of them, that means that after you've bought it, it will take time for it to ''respawn'' and sometimes other items ''respawn''. So yeah if the quest helper tells you to go to one of those vendors I would because the might just have it!

Even when you guys are disagreeing you are still really helpful.

There was none available at AH or vendor, so bugging friends and family atm.

Thanks for the tips, I spent ages looking for this and now I know why.

I found the mithril casing in gadget AH. Luckily an engineer put 10 in. Sucky that they were 4g 50 s buyout.

Thanks for the advice on this quest. I had a alt character in Iron Forge and I just started yelling, "I need a Mithril Casing! Anybody have a Mithril Casing?" After a few minutes someone responded and just gave me one after they made one at the forge. This is a cool game. People do this kind of stuff all the time. I love it.

Seeing how Mithril Casing goes for 15g on AH (Aszune EU-Alliance) while the mats are at about 3g, it is definitely a good idea to know someone with engineering to make it for you...

I accepted quest, I have a Mithril Casing, Yellow Question mark above the ape's head, says I cannot complete quest. Why?

I've been fishing in Azshara, and I got Mithril Casing there. I think it is not very useful to go there and fish because it took a long time for me to get it there(I wasn't going there to fish for it, just to increase my skill, but it dropped). Better get some engineer to make it, it is the faster way :D

It doesn't matter if it says that you need to go to Gadgetzan at the engineer trainer. There is also a AH from where you can buy it.
By the way my QH says that i can find a mithril casing in the cave for http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4244. Is that posible?

At level 52, this was a Yellow quest for but Apes of Un'Goro, which you kinda have to do to get to A-Me 01 is an orange. ah well.

A little further investigation shows a panel that slides open. Clearly written above some wiring is the statement, "Replace Mithril Casing And Turn Power Off Then On."

Taking a moment to replace the panel, you wonder if it'll be that simple to fix A-Me 01 and get her back to Karna Remtravel near Marshall's Refuge.

Only trying it will tell.
