It depends. If you are lucky you can get the horns in a few min. If you are unlucky it can take up to 30 min orso.

Theirs some yetis along the path between Timbermaw Hold and Everlook, Do this with Wild Guardians because their a lot of Owlbeasts out their. If you go kinda northeast of Everlook, theirs some yetis out their.

Got this quest as a 52 marksman hunter. When I got the quest it seemed easy enough, kill yetis that are right outside everlook. My cat bangladash from STV kept getting killed and i was having to melee so this was not working out. I flew to orgrimmar unlearned my talents for 5g and put them all in Beast Mastery. Went back and my cat dominated, took me 1 and a half hours to finish this quest when I got back with beast mastery. Good luck this quest takes a long time.

go for the Rogue Ice Thistle yetis on the way to Everlook from timbermaw hold Felwood. They ve a better droprate then others.10 of 12 for me.

Got this quest? My recommendation is Do Not do it, reasons are as follow:
- Drop rate is really low...not even 20%
- Waste hours of worthless killing, when you can be doing some other quest that gives more exp rewards
- The fact that the end reward is garbage and the exp/time ratio will never come close to doing other quests.

in my opinion you should definetly do this quest, reason being is if u do a quest with a 20 percent drop rate thats just more exp, try around 65,41

This was a pain as a Frost Mage lvl 53. They have a lot of Frost Resistance, so beware ;)

I was unlucky... Took some hours to get them all. Took about two hours or so to get 7, and then 5 min to get the last 3. Just my usual luck.

The drop rate is abysmal. I would recommend that, at least, melee classes skip this quest, as it seems the Yetis have high armor and thus are not a good grinding mob. It's perhaps worth doing for the followups.

There is also a cave at 68,42 full of ice yetis and more tightly packed too so easier to work through. I'm on a PvP server so I did most of the quest in there to avoid ganking, you might want to do the same. :)

The drop rate this was horrible for me...I lost count of how many I killed before I got the first one.

And they're are pretty resistant to frost attacks. (For once a good thing I'm a fire mage)

I also had no luck getting any drops from the cave location. However, when I rode along the road between Everlook and the Timbermaw Tunnel, I killed off the wandering Rogue Yetis and the drop rate was much better! Finished under an hour.

The real reason to do this quest is because you are an engineer and want the tranquil mechanical yeti. You finish this quest first and then this quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8798 appears and you get the recipe. Enjoy!

I had high drop on the ice yeti's located by the Raging owlbeasts, but when I went over to get some Ragged and saw the Rogue Ice Yeti I didnt get any furs.

What are you people talking about? This is a REALLY easy quest, just grind a few south of the yeti cave. The droprate is good, i got one every 3-4 yeti i killed. Note that matriarchs and patriarchs dont drop it. They have low armor and not strong. They are great for grinding as you can skin them, they drops loads of grey items and money. So for you who say this is hard, i tell you this. Its not. Note that if you grind inside yeti cave you will find few, as most the spawns in there are matriarchs and patriarch with no droprate on the hides.

I ran this earlier in the week and the drops rates were pathetic, 1 for every 6 yeti's killed, and I had to fight a gang of five Horde hunters.

Did with a group of a 52pally and 54fire mage. Deplorable drop rate and so-so exp. I wouldnot reccomend unless you are desperate for exp. Also had problem because there was a bunch of other alliance players killing them to so on top of bad drop rate we had to wait an hour for repops.... --.--

Keep in mind that only Ice Thistle Yeti and Rogue Ice Thistle drop this item! Do not kill either the Patriarchs or the Matriarchs because they don't drop it. There are a lot of Ice Thistle Yeti around 67,44.

I'm not certain, but I think the quest name 'Are we there, Yeti?' is also a tongue-in-cheek reference to how long this quest will take you due to the terrible drop rate.

This quest was such easy experience, grind on the yetis until the items drop, i got the fur after about 12 kills but i think i was just lucky.

In Winterspring Ice Thistle Yeti's hang out in abundance around a cave loacted at 67.41. I experienced a 0 drop rate on the fur's If I took down any other type of yeti other than the Ice Thistle ones. I would recommend picking out the Ice Thistle Yeti's to complete the quest the fastest. Also the cave at 67.41 is where you need to go to complete the next quest in the chain.

The coords are right, but i have to say this, This was the hardest part of the quest. This part took me over a day to day, but the second part is easy, it only took about 4 kills :)

Took me 34 kills (23 of the lvl 56, 11 of the lvl 55). plus 2 Patriarchs and 7 Matriarchs that got in my way.

66,43 area outside the cave was best, just went from one to the next without pause (53 hunter)

Make sure to kill the Ice Thistle Yetis only. Nothing else will drop them.
My kills:
Lv. 55 Yetis - 6 Fur / 12 Kills - 50% drop
Lv. 56 Yetis - 4 Fur / 16 Kills - 25% drop

This quest is a pain...even at 55, you will be better off skipping it. The drop rate is abysmal at best, I killed 10 and didn't even get 1 item. I skipped this quest on my last time through as well after killing 20 or so and getting only 2.

With the new changes to quest XP in 2.3....there are much easier, faster quests that will give you the same amount of XP.

Worst drop rate ever for a quest =/ Two hours later and I only have 7 of the 10 furs I need. This is also avoiding the Matriarchs and Patriarchs per instructions above.

the drop rate is really good right outside the city, me as a level 54 hunter got it done in under twenty minutes. the yeti's can be skinned though i do not think you can get the yeti furs from that. good luck all!

Best spot: 65, 41

I believe they have upped the drop-rate on the furs. I completed this quest in about 15 minutes as a level 54 fire mage. It took me 14 kills of Ice Thistle Yetis (not the Patriarchs or Matriarchs) to get the 10 furs required.

Doing this quest now as a level 55 frost mage, the drop rate seems to be poor and as a frost mage it sucks killing these with there frost resistant fur.

If you are a frost mage I advise you to get yourself some help. The yetis have a very high resistance to frost. I was using my fire spells on them but was consuming too much mana to make it worth while because of this bummer drop rate.

56,29, work your way down the hill and back up again. You should be able to complete the quest in about 15 min. Drop rates are 50 percent in your favor. Skin them as well if you are a skinner.

if your a frost mage be prepared for a lot of resists as they are ice thistle yeti's i reverted to using either fire or arcane spells.

Quest is LAME as a frost mage, even on equal level with t he mobs. I started using the following combo to kill them off... Ice Barrier, Fireball, Fireball, Arcane Missiles, Scorch. Dead.

took me about one hour to complete it, as a lvl 56 frost mage, sometimes they resist everything, then i just switch over and use som fire spells. my drop chance was like crap!

cords 66, 41 found a ton of them. range from 55-58, took about 25 minutes to do, drop rate was 34%. Can skin them for thick leather and rugged leather.

and 2 levels before I saw the last of the furs drop.

Did this with a group of four. Frost mage, Enhancement Shaman, Feral Druid, Disc Priest. We were killing things faster than they could spawn. Nobody else in the zone at all.

Took almost 4 hours. Far too long for 40 pieces of fur that should drop easily.
Not to mention we went from Unfriendly to Friendly farming furbies while waiting for respawn. >.>

If you're going to do this quest? Bring something to amuse yourself during respawn. I was shocked at how long it took us. None of my other characters went past 30 minutes total, even in full 5 man groups, fighting bots and other groups for spawns pre-BC.

Uh, either the drop rate has been fixed or i was very very lucky because i honestly got all 10 furs in about 15 mins like any ordinary quest. Don't let all the above comments scare you if you're not afraid of a little grinding imo.

If you are reading this thinking "omgz dis quest looks liek fail" - ignore these other people who missed the post that says: IGNORE THE YETI'S TO THE WEST OF EVERLOOK, GET THE ROGUE YETI'S TO THE EAST.

Much better droprate.

As of patch 2.4.3, the furs will also be dropped by the Ice Thistle Matriarchs and Patriarchs.

it took me 15-20 mins to complete this quest with my lvl 52 feral druid. 8 of the furs from skinning and got the other 2 from corpse loot.

I completed this quest on my level 54 hunter in about 15 mins. I found i was getting the required furs from skinning the yetis tooo :) So if ur a skinner very easy quest.

I did this quest easily as a 54 hunter.

Go to 67.4, 41.5 and kill any of the yetis you see.
Not only will the Ice Thistle Yetis drop them, but the Ice Thistle Matriarchs, and Ice Thistle Patriarchs will drop them too.
Here are my stats.

Droprates seem to have improved; In my experience the cave east of everlook was a great place for the fur. You can also gain the fur by skinning the yetis.

You can kill one yeti and then if the fur drops you can skin it and get double!

In present time this quest give 150 Everlook reputation and 75 reputation with ather Cartel.

This mean if you complete any quest with Cartel and resieve for example 500rep with ratchet you will also resieve 250rep (0.5x500) with ather Cartel subfactions. Tested in Everlook and Rathet. I suppose Booty and Gat quest works the same.

Ditto Yodii's comment. Even if they don't drop from the mobs, you are guaranteed at least one Fur every time you skin the bodies. Level 53 Rogue, completed the quest in under half an hour, not even actively looking for the Yeti's

I got lucky and got my 10 from the first 11 mobs I killed. However, I have skinning as a profession so do note that you can get the yeti's fur from skinning, it makes it way faster. The area I killed mine in was near the cave around 65, 40

A note to skinners: There's a 100% drop rate on the furs if you skin each one, so chances are each kill will net you two furs. Easy and quick!

I did this quest as a 52-53 Orc Warrior (dinged half way through) and i did it all off the Ice Thistle Yeti's and it took FOREVER i only got drops about every 4-5 kills so i would definantly do this with Rogue Ice Thistle Yeti's unless u like to kill alot of things?

Just as a heads up for those frost mage's out there (including me) these guys have a pretty good frost resistance so expect to be hitting half what you normally would with frost spells. Also, they will resist most of them anyway so try to use fire for these guys.

Got the furs today very fast. Killed the yetis infront of the cave at 65,41. Must have been buffed in some patch, because it was much worse last time I did this (during tbc)

I agree with the folks who mentioned that the drop rates were much better in the caves. I killed probably 15 of these outside the cave to get my first two, and in the cave the drop rate was probably closer to 40-50%.

This quest doesn't require level 52, by the way. I went through it all with a level 51 tank warrior rather easily.

This place would have been paradise if only I had skinning on this toon.
