Best mobs to kill for this is actually the Magma Elementals and such. At first I thought that the Hearts of Flame only dropped from Fire Elementals and Golem Oil only from the Heavy War Golems, but the Magma Elementals drop both. Just got one of each from one mob.. Go firgure :-)

You can find a lot of these guys down in the Cauldron in the Searing George rather than everywhere around. Inside there are also a bunch of other mobs that you need for other quests, so it's good to get it all in one shot.

you can do this together with Curse These Fat Fingers (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=7723) and maybe also with culling the competition (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=7729)

I found the droprate horrible on all mobs might be my luck and Magma elementals were not dropping anything for me....not even crap loot

This is a very difficult quest to do as a Fire mage. To get one of teh quest items, you need go grind many extremely fire resistant enemies. I tried for a while, then gave it up after I killed about ten magma elementals w/o a single drop. The chain does give a huge amount of experience though, I might come back to it if I find myself w/o enough quests.

I recommend killing the magma elementals, as they drop both the flame and oil.

Very easy quest, all of the mobs you need to kill are around the quest giver
and drop approx. 60% also, the molten elementals drop both.

problem is though, i had quite a bit of competition..
and there aren't many fire ele's there

We must strike where we will do the most damage: the four sentry towers.

With the four towers in flames, we can initiate an offensive before they have time to react.

You will need the proper tool to set the towers ablaze. To make the tool requires some materials.

Bring me four hearts of flame and four golem oil and I shall craft the torch of flawless flame.

The golems and elementals in these lands should be your first target.
