I got very lucky and got it on my first kill, they hit pretty hard. Solo'd the one as a 55 frost mage, just kite them and you'll be fine.

First kill, twilight dark shaman, easy to solo.

Getting to the quest-giver is another matter entirely.

Before doing this, I recommend picking up Release Them (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=3372) and The Flame's Casing (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=3452), since you're going to kill the same mobs and go to the same place (though you'll probably end up there because of the first one anyway).

This was super easy for me. I'm a 57 warlock and i went to the cave to the left of Thorium Point, took out a fire dwarf 48 elite and got it on my first drop! Didn't even have to go inside the cave.

I did this with some help from a friend, lvl70, but didnt take long time he pulled one(A Geomancer) And i ran over to loot and there it was, very lucky...

after the Pach 2.3 there is no more elite mobs outdor so q is easy and drop rate is rly good,and the best drop is at 25.35

Completed as a lv 47 Frost Mage with ease.
Quest was orange for me.
Got the item on first kill. very easy quest.

The guy and mobs are around 30.30 just west of thorium point.
The path up there starts at 27.33
Just east of the cave at Firewatch Ridge.

Drops off mobs outside cave around 23, 36 - they are no longer elites.

i dont know about you guys but i killed 1 mob at the cage where i started the quest and got the drop :P simple

Don't say the quest is easy just because you get it on the first kill. You might just have been lucky, and getting it on the first, and people will probably get rather annoyed after 20 unsuccesful kills... Took me quite a while to get it on my hunter, so it isn't exactly a walk n the park(Even though the mobs are rather easy now)

Killed about 50, got frustrated abandoned and left. Came back to do "Release Them", re-accepted and it dropped on the second mob. =)

I killed a bunch (maybe 20) enemies before the item dropped. One of the enemies I killed was a 51 elite, Highlord Mastrogonde, right near the cage you get the quest from. He didn't drop the quest item, but he did drop the green Revenant Gauntlets of Power, which are pretty good greens. Good enemy to kill for the drops, and he was fairly easy; he casts one shadow spell, which does maybe 150 dmg/hit, so he's not much of a threat.

Yes, Highlord Mastrogonde is a rare elite.

Go down where you came from, and you will get a higher drop rate from there (23, 36).

I really felt bad for Zamael Lunthisle. I know he had done alot of bad deeds for the Twilight Hammer, but having his spirit caught on in Azeroth, without being able to transcend to the Twisting Netehr kinda made me feel bad.

Makes me think of Asterion being caught in Bashal'Aran

In the time it took to do this, I got two (2) copies for Cindercloth Gloves recipe and two (2) more for Cindercloth Vest to drop off the mobs.

As of the current patch, this item can be found in a crate just outside the cave entrance.

Though the questgiver now tells you to read the prayer instead of taking it to Darnassus, the prayer cannot be read.

Seems bugged to me.

As I stated, the prayer was etched onto a golden tablet. One of these idol worshipping scoundrels must have it on their person.

If you do recover my prayer, take it to Astarii Starseeker in Darnassus. It matters little that my faith has been rekindled after the countless malevolent actions that I have taken against this world and its inhabitants, but my prayer must be heard. Absolution is the last thing I expect.
