In order to do this quest you need to have the flask ready, with either your bag open or on one of your action bars. When one of the caster Troggs begins to cast his spell(his hands will glow green) right click the flask. You'll collect the goo. He'll still shoot you though, so be ready to take him down after that.

To clarify: you don't need to enter Gnomergan proper (ergo: through the instance portal) - a trogg outside of it will do as well. Fight through the early leper gnomes (24ish in level) and then grind through the troggs (who are elite and thus a bit more difficult, but doable for lvl 33 fire mage) until you come upon the type of trogg that throws green goo at you. Kill one of those and use the flask near the corpse.

Just open the bag (where the quest items is) and right click it and your quest will be finished. Just is as a chicken =)

not sure if it was a bug, but the lift I took down into the gnomergan entrance didn't work to go back up (my character would just be hidden by the platform rising and would stay at the bottom). I eventually hearthstoned out but couldn't see how you're supposed to leave.

tried this quest just the way wowhead said and keep getting invalid target and got cant do while moving do i have to kneel or am i missing something

I just did this quest as of 4.0.1 and it works outside the instance.

Start by just getting in his aggro range and use the phial, then he will start casting "radiation bolt", so you will be able to get the phial without any interrupts.

A piece of cake for a decent amount of xp.

Since the accident, all Gnoarn thinks about or talks about is cleansing Gnomeregan of the trogg infestation and finding a cure for the sickness that plagues it, <name>.

Luckily, Razzle and I are close to some kind of cure - either that or the recipe for a really powerful rum. We won't know until we test! Naturally, in order to test our theory, we're going to need a few things; namely, fallout from the irradiated troggs in Gnomeregan. Fill up this phial with the green glow and bring it back!
