He can be found outside of the clean room. Once you accept the quest, the bomb follows you. Clear out the mobs on his way out and let him leave the instance. Once your done, go to Booty Bay.

You'll find him in the Dormitory, top-left room as you face the south ramped wall. (It's north-facing)

The dormitory can be found on the southern part of the far eastern side of the instance, south of the front entrance.

The dude you escort will follow you instead of leading the way, so you can take your time with no need to clear a path.

My group just went through Gnomer, and we cleared every one of the little "hole" rooms in the walls in the room below the Clean Room, yet we could not find this guy. Has he been removed?

It was probobly because one of the group members had done the quest.

He should be there even if everyone has done the quest, but he's hard to see. It's dark in those rooms, and, since he's lying prone, he blends in. On the Gnomeregan run I went to last night I checked the same room three times before I finally saw him.

ok we failed the quest and abandoned it. then went to find him again and could not find him. are we all blind or is it not possile to pick back up?

You lead Kernobee to the front entrance.

Doesn't count towards Achievement "Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms" or "Loremaster of Kalimdor".

Shortcut, you can take him out the entrance. Just fight your way to him, get him, and walk the cleared path back to the entrance to get this completed.

Apparently Kernobee only aggros other enemies if you fight them. Very easy for a rogue or druid to stealth by everyone. There is 1 ambush near the front entrance though.

I tried this the first time when I went into Gnomeregan. I failed because I was briefly disconnected. The group leader decided to take me back through, and we got another party member to stay, along to recruit a level 32 human warrior. So now we had a level 28 human paladin (me), a level 22 night elf rogue, a level 32 human warrior, and a level 59 dwarf death knight (who switched to his level 49 human paladin). We serached the entire room for at least an hour, even after the leader reset the instance three times. But today, when I went in here as a now level 32 human paladin by myself, I saw the golden exclamation mark on my mini-map. I found him, but was killed before I could even walk towards him. (gotta be careful with Consecration...woops!) You probably just need to clear your instances when you're NOT in a group to reset it.

Took me quite some time to find the questgiver, so here are some instructions to get to him.

Enter Gnomeregan and head to the safe room. Go through it and out the other side. On your right side there is a wall with holes in it. You can walk up this wall so take the top second hole. Quest giver is to your left when you enter.

How do you know if these quests count or not for Loremaster? You won't know until we've done them and we get a credit point for it....

The last thing I remember is being captured by a group of dark iron dwarves, beaten to within an inch of my life and then thrown in here with these filthy troggs.

Get me out of here, <name>!

Here's the plan: Lead me to the exit; if we make it out alive, you go to Booty Bay and let Scooty know that I went to Ratchet to warn Tinkerwiz of the dark iron's involvement in the making of that super rig.

Let's get going!
