There are multiple spawn locations for this item. 72,56 and 71,55 are the most common apparently. If you have far sight or eagle eye, scope out the locations before you blindly rush in.

Note for stealthers -- Druids and Rogues:
You DO need to open this to complete the quest.. it has a 3 or so second timer that gets canceled when damaged so you can't just stealth in and complete it, you need to clear the mobs around it to complete the quest from it and get the new one.

For those who want accurate cordinates:

71.6, 55.9 on the top of a crate sorrounded by 3 mobs (1 shaman mob + 2 warrior mobs with enrage.)

probably the easiest for a pally all you do is get close enough for them not to aggro you then use Divine Shield and run up to the plans and then just take them and you will hardly get hit

As a warrior, I took out the Alpha and then the Reaver. The casters were too close together to pull just one, so I just charged and did intimidating shout, which gave me enough time to get the map, complete the quest and the new accept the quest and run.

As sometimes happens neither coords now seem to be correct..I have gone to both locations plus a load of others. Does anyone have an update?

This quest can be done at level 39, despite it saying requires level 40.

I've just completed it on my level 39 pala.

The map given by Wildhorn is Exact.

That map given by wildhorn is no longer required. Just open your map (Default 'M') and on the bottom right corner click the box that says 'Show quest objectives' and a '?' will show up on your map where ever the thing is.

This quest is incorrectly flagged. As of today, March 31, 2012, it is still available. Just finished it.

Find the gnoll battle plans somewhere in the gnoll camps to the south of Camp Mojache.

Gnolls aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but they will no doubt have some sort of documented strategy on their recent activity. If we were to find those plans, then we'd have a clearer idea of what is making them so worked up.

I want you to head back to the Woodpaw and find anything that might resemble their battle plans. They have to have something; their attacks have been too coordinated to be done without them. Find them, and return to me when you have them.
