For the non-skinner: This quest is doable. you do NOT need to be a skinner.

For those that are skinners they can also get a possible drop of the Thick Yeti Hide making their time in the cave shorter.

Note: The cave is just on the other side of the 'cave entrance' which is just really a tunnel to the actual cave.

awesome quest for grinding, i had no problems at all as a 48 rogue. also, 55,56 are the right coords.

Easily completed this quest w/ my 42 feral druid, all cat form.
55,56 is the mouth of a cave, go thru it to the next cave, which is full of yeti, mostly 45 & 46 in there, a few 44 outside the caves. I easily ran thru them all w/o heal, killed about 8 straight before health got below 50% and I tossed on a heal. The 46 gave me trouble, had to switch to bear mode for a moment while the DoT heal did its job. Probably took about 30-40 kills to collect all the hides.

as a lvl 44 lock this was a cool quest. easy kills, nice exp. worth the drop rate. Of course the fact that the epic dagger Gut Ripper dropped from a Enraged Feral Scar for me...well then again I could be just giddy =)

Skinning these guys has about 80% dropchance of Thick yeti hide.

This quest is far easier as a skinner. The drops are terribly low, but skin them and they drop this hide almost 90% of the time. Did this in about 5 mins.

Easily solo'd as a 43 druid. Don't worry if you are not a skinner, I got more hides from drops than I skinned.

With a skinner it took me 13 Yetis:
6 dropped the hides
4 yielded hides on skinning
(2 yetis did both)
All of this outside at 56,56

Pretty easy quest as a lvl 49 warrior and lvl 49 Priest but the drop rate was astonishingly low. We cleared the cave and all the yeti outside and only after hitting the cave a second time were we able to get all the hides we needed. A skinner has a definite advantage here.

You can NOT get the hides from the Rage Scar yetis at 54,32. I learned this the hard way.

Ignore the fact that this quest says level 46. The mobs with the best drop rates are wandering around outside the cave, around 54, 56, and they're only levels 43 and 44. Well over 50% drop rate means that this quest is easily soloable at level 42.

As you're heading out of the cave, don't forget to Rescue OOX-22/FE if you've picked up OOX-22/FE Distress Beacon.

i got the hides when skinning 100%, you don't even need to go in the cave, 7-8 of them should be enough

If you're doing The Missing Courier questline, I suggest you choose the boots, since the last quest in that line will reward you with better gloves.

(Though if you are doing the quests at their approperiate levels, the gloves will last a little while).

Confirmed 100% drop rate from skinning. Extremely easy quest at level 44 with skinning; took all of three minutes.

As others have said you do not have to have skinning to complete this quest, it just makes it go a lot faster.

If you can, do the quest Find OOX-22/FE! at the same time, they dovetail quite nicely.

This quest was made for skinners.
Finished it in about 4 minutes minus travel time. Didn't even have to enter the cave or fully clear the mobs outside.

55:56 on Feralas Map kill Yetis and collect Thick Yeti Hide

The cave at 55, 56 does have Yeti but that type, i found, does NOT drop The hide needed. the cave at 52, 31 the Rage Scar Yeti drops the hide. I got them all clearing the entire cave once as a nonskinner.

Edit: Actually the cave at 55, 56 is for the next quest .

In my latest pursuit of high-quality materials, I have run across thick yeti hides. The Yeti are native to Feralas, with many found in Feral Scar Vale. I want some, and I'll give you a choice of one of my leather goods for a stack of ten. If that sounds fair to you, then we're in business.
