One of those quests that you think there's a trick to, but there isn't. Simply type /Salute while targeting the questgiver.

If it bugs out, drop and retake the quest.

There really isn't anything to find, haha.
When you accept the quest, click on the questgiver, type:

/salute

and that's it!

Did this quest last night and its not exactly as you say.

first you have to /salute with no target (to stand in atention)
only after that you can complete the quest by /salute targeting the quest giver

It might be a bug, but once I failed the quest the quest giver despawned and didn't come back even on other characters…maybe I'll try again tomorrow :p

So I started on this quest, and after accepting it, I ran to the flight master to pick up the flight point in Org, and it said I failed the quest. So then I walked back to the guy, thinking it may come up again, but then I went ahead and abandoned the quest, again hoping the quest would come up again, but it hasn't.

:( Help! I don't know how to get this quest again.

i also abandoned the quest and the quest giver was gone when i went back, it does indeed work to go ask a guard for the rogue trainer, the guy will reappear!

Hey , guys ! i saluted him like 20 times but it doesn't work ! no he doesn't disappear when i abandon the quest , just like when i type /Salute nothin happens . I did everythin wrote up here but still ignoring me !

I picked up this quest while ago, didn't do it right away and came back after few levels. I did /salute and NPC only said "Well done.", but no credit for quest. I then did abaddon quest and took it again, then simply new /salute and got credit.

It's easy, you only must type /salute
If you abandon the quest just run into Ragefire Chasm a few seconds and go out. And the quest giver will be here again ;)

He has a timed respawn. I failed the quest because i didnt read the instructions, dropped it. ran back, saw thathe was gone, flipped out, went here to see wtf was going on, read about the guard crap (got a quick snack), switched back to WoW and there he was staring back at me. so it is a timer respawn, u dont have to tlk to a guard, go into an instance or any of that crap just get a snack, check ur myspace/ facebook and he'll be there waiting when u get back.

also, relax when u do this quest, u dont have to spam /salute. he will say "Did you see what i did?... ( blah blah blah)... I will give you the proper responce" THAT is when u then type /salute, but u may have to wait for him to "talk" it all out.

Also a simple way is to wait for him to do the salute to you, then /kneel and /salute. Doesn't bug out, tried and tested.

I tried everything but no matter what it keeps on saying i failed this quest. Any suggestions?

So are there pre-reqs for this quest, or is it just gone after 4.1? I'd like to get my thistle tea recipe, but can't seem to get it started.
