You need two items found in Uldaman to complete this quest. The first is found in the chest next to Baelog in Uldaman, Gni'kiv Medallion (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7740). Join this piece with the The Shaft of Tsol (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7741#00Rz), dropped by Revelosh further in the instance.

Join the two pieces together to form the Staff of Prehistoria (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7733). Once you have formed the staff, you place it in the ground in front of the hidden chamber to open the doors, and the boss Ironaya will come out. Once you down the boss, make sure you go all the way into the chamber to complete the quest.

Either way, as a reward you're better off with the Dwarven Charge it's 1.4g more at the Vendor.

The staff required to open the room is an homage to the Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indy assembles the Staff of Ra and places it in the floor of a map room which reveals the location of the Ark.

Similarly, you assemble the Staff of Prehistoria and place it in the map on the floor which opens the room to Ironaya.

Thanks to the new loot rules of random dungeons this is almost impossible to complete, due to trade between realms being impossible. Some random person always picks up the medallion and another always gets the staff.

Edit: This has been fixed since I posted it some time ago.

As of the most recent patch, 4.3.2 this is still completable. There is no staff items, you just click the key hole in the map room and the door opens.

Staff No-Longer Required - Quest still do-able.

In the Map chamber there is a model of green buildings on the floor.
On one roof is a structure which looks like a chimney.

Click on it , Staff appears , door opens.

Now for the task at hand.

There is a secret chamber, the Chamber of Khaz'mul, that must be explored. The problem is that the chamber's behind a huge, locked door! It's a lucky thing I know how to open it.

I've described everything in my journal, here on the table. My band and I are stuck here for now... so you, <name>, must find the chamber of Khaz'mul for us!

Read my journal, explore the chamber, then report to Prospector Stormpike at the Explorers' League in Ironforge.
