When you accept the quest, you get a 30 minute timer. It takes about four minutes to fly the Stormwind to Booty Bay route, and the Cold-Eye Basilisks are along the road and on the west shore in the middle of Stranglethorn.

I'm a lvl 39 hunter. I did it with 18 minutes left. Fly to booty bay. run north. The cold-eye basilisks are on the west side of the road just north of the Gurubashi arena. Then I hearthed back to SW. (I have Aspect of the Cheetah but even without, there is plenty of time.)

Hehe, level 37 Druid, no mount, hs set at stormwind. I had 18 minutes and 34 secs remaining, such a diddle.

I just changed my hearth stone to take me to Stormwind City before flying to Booty Bay, Plenty of time to spare, as a Night Elf Hunter with Aspect of the Cheetah/Pack, running took only a couple of minutes. Then just used hearth stone back to Stormwind and to the Mage Quarter I went! easiest gold I ever got!! Are there more like this?? :)

If two people do this, only one needs to pick it up and you can share and abandon quest between yourselves which ultimately means infinate time.

Very easy!! Lvl 39 Druid. Flew to Booty Bay, used the dash ability to get me outside quickly. Transferred to travel form and found my first basilisk at 37,40. Got the haunch on the first drop. Hearthed back to SW, 16 minutes left. Glad I read your other comments because I almost abandoned this one before quickly checking it out.

You might recognize the basilisks if you already did this Panther Mastery Quest as the Shadowmaw Panthers are in the same area. At least, that's where I killed all mine. :)

I did this with a 37 holy priest. Flew to Sentinal Hill, then ran south along river, then west to the coast. Killed a few Crystal Spine Basilisks for another quest otw to Arena area Coastline. Hearthed back to SW, and still had about 4 mins left!

This quest now gives 6550 xp, SW faction remains the same at 500.

Shattrath hearthstone = this quest done with 20 min 30 secs left on the timer. 40 shadow priest w/ 60% mount. Glad I found this one - am grinding rep with SW to replace my fugly elekk.

When the quest says "northwestern" remember that STV has a lot of North/South territory in it. The basilisks you seek are SE of Grom'Gol base.

Smoked this in 9mins sleeping as a lock. Gryph to Booty, Killed at 37,40. Hearthed back to SW and rode my mount to turn in. Easy as pie.

The Easiest way to complete this quest is to make the inn at stormwind your home, accept the quest then fly to booty bay, go NW up the coastline until u see a cold eye basilisk, kill him pickup the item (droprate is 100%) then warp to stormwind...I finished w/18min 35 sec left

This is extremely easy for a mage, did it at 36 as fire specced; run down there, even without a mount, then port back to Stormwind. Did it without a mount and had 15 minutes to spare.

Just completed this on my 44 Druid and got 6550 exp and 500 SW rep. Not bad for 10 mins work.

Finished with 22.5 minutes left. Had hearth stone set to the inn in Booty Bay so I hearthed there and footed it north. Killed 1 basalisk and picked up the item. Teleported back to the mage tower in SW and took a leisurely stroll to the Blue Recluse for the win. Maybe a little too easy for mages...even without a mount.

Wow! that was easy! I was on the road heading north from Booty Bay, and as I was turning left to go through the woods to get to the beach (31,37) there was a Cold Eye Basilisk right next to the road! I didn't even have to go the beach!

I just did it at level 70 and it gave me 500 reputation with Stormwind not 125 with each faction like stated above

Done under seven minutes as a lvl 44 mage. Took a gryphon to rebel camp, mounted, rode to the middle of STV, got the quest item and TP'd back. Quick quest and 6550 xp!

-Ride down to Gruulbashi Arena and kill the Cold Eye Basilisk aournd (30,40)
-Hearth to SW
EASY!

This does count towards Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms, this was the last one for me to get the achievment.

This quest is now made even easier now that you can obtain an epic ground mount at level 40.
And Rebel Camp is indeed the closer FP to the basilisks.

Weirdly enough, the in-game quest tracker says "Return to Angus Stern at Mirror Lake in Elwynn Forest" once you've picked up the quest item. Nevertheless, you have to turn it in at the Blue Recluse in Stormwind City of course!

This quest is just dumb. Why does the quest timer eventually start when you accept the quest?
The timer should be on the quest item if you think of it...

Does indeed count for Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms, it was also my last 700/700 baby...phew! Glad its over!

One of my most famous dishes is Chilled Basilisk in Lime Vinaigrette. But the problem is... the meat is impossible to keep fresh, and I must serve the dish tonight for a noble's birthday!

So if you can bring me a Chilled Basilisk Haunch from a freshly-killed Cold Eye Basilisk, quickly, then I will owe you a king's feast!

Cold Eye Basilisks are known to roam along the beach dunes of northwestern Stranglethorn, so you have much traveling to do. And be swift!
