The drop rate of the tusks is extremely low - don't start the quest unless you're prepared for an 1,5h+ grind.

Many people here during this quest so pick a point that has a low amount of people on.

Just combine it with the Troll Witchery quest, where you need to get 4 troll fetishes. That way you get them both in a single grind. And the droprate on the fetishes is even lower then the horns!

However! Watch out for the patrols in the area, they usually are in groups of 3 or 4, and always attack at the worst moment!

this quest was pretty easy, lvl 40 warlock. I hung around between the two ruins and solo'ed it. This quest should have been done already with the skulls from Grom and the skull necklaces. So the patrols should be easy enough to avoid, 3 groups of 3 that roam the 3 ruin's areas. just stay off the road.

This is a really easy quest soloed this with my level 41 mage. the drop rate isnt bad at all. at least not for me anyway, easy, easy, easy.

Completed this quest last night ... as of 7/31/2007 the drop rates was probably around 1 out of 4. Don't know if that was a fluke, or the norm though.

I recommend you to do this quest with those at one time:

Split Bone Necklace (drops from all Skullsplitter Trolls)
Speaking with Nezzliok (you will find 'em in Skullsplitters ruins)
Speaking with Gan'zulah (Ana'thek and other needed mobs foun around 46.42)

I just did this quest and I got 63% of my 42-43 level during the grind. Hellish drop rate but one has to level I guess.

Since 2.3, you gain 4800 exp for completion of this quest (and it is a nice exp grind!)

I noticed that drop rate arourd 34.49 (Balia'Mah ruins) is atleast 2x times better than around 46.42 (Ruins of Zul'Mamwe)

I did this with a 1 for 1 drop rate, Lev 42 Holy Preist. I found it very easy, the cords above are all good. Fun grind quest, takes about an hour solo.

Protection Pallies will find this quest easy. There are portions of the ruins that do not have any casters or healers. The hunter type mobs have melee pets as well. Easy to scoop up 5-6.

I hung around between Ziata'Jai and Balia'Mah and found the drops evenly distributed amongst the warriors, mystics, and axe-throwers. I underestimated the respawn time; strolled into an "empty" temple with my pet. One guy respawned so close, he should have asked me to dinner and a movie.

very strange thing...
for me (lvl 46 UD Priest) Kebok has not this quest, and i definetly have not done the quest...
also, i could not find any Skullsplitter Panther all over the coordinates you specified here or on the wowhead minimap...

does this quest and mobs exist anymore?

On the east side of the main road in Stranglethorn, there is a ruins called ziata'jal ruins. There are trolls there and them trolls drop what you need, the drop rate isn't too good, but there are quests that have worse, but better.

The whole Skullsplitter clan is located at about 44,34 (south of the Ogre Mound cave). Their about 39 - 41 mobs

Do it with Split Bone Necklace & Speaking with Gan'zulah & Speaking with Nezzliok.

Speaking with Gan'zulah & Speaking with Nezzliok are both chains of Bloodscalp clan heads

This quest is bugged because each troll has 2 tusks so after killing 9 trolls I should have had enough. I've killed about 30 to collect 18 tusks.... Blizz should fix this

To give you an idea of where they are, use the search and type in Skullsplitter Warrior. It'll pop up a map and show you where the npcs are.

I did this quest today and i picked it right back up.
It seems like this is a new way to grind and farm rep for lvling and for lvl 80
Can anyone else re-take this Quest?

Watch out for the co-rd, about 43,35. I got mobbed by about 5 trolls, 2 different packs have a similar patrol point and will quickly kill you

It's expensive and hard to kill enough tigers to support the export of tiger fangs to the islands in the South Seas. Luckily, we've developed a technique that allows us to take mundane horn-like objects and turn them into undetectable forgeries.

The closest match we've found, amazingly, are the tusks of the Skullsplitter trolls.

Hey, before you say anything, what the buyer doesn't know doesn't hurt them, am I right? Bring me a large number of them so we can get to work on the monthly shipment!
