OKAY...lets talk about the witherbark portion. this should be no problem for people of correct lvl.
i was daring and did this at 30. though most of the mobs were 35 or 34 (not including the lvl 35 spiders)...

my suggestion (if you are doing this at a lower lvl) is stick around loc 68,61 (east side of the camp) that way spiders don't spoil your fun.

do not try this from the west... even though it is tempting... just save yourself a lot of grief and go in from the east

To get the wand you must also complete the quest chain beginning with Hidden Secrets http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1949 which involves a run to Scarlet Monastery Library. For the Horde, Compendium of the Fallen http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1049 and Test of Lore (Chain) http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1160 can be completed on the same run.

After completing both of these quests http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1952 will become available from Tabetha if you are at least level 33.

After seeing this get rated down I want to rephrase my comment.

To get the Icefury, Ragefire, or Nether Force Wand you must also complete the mage quest chain beginning with Hidden Secrets. That involves a run to the Scarlet Monastery Library.
After completing both that quest and this quest, the reward quest Mage's Wand becomes available from Tabetha.

An easier way is to grind the Witherbark trolls around Boulder'gor. Theres 5 spawn points around it, and the droprates are very decent. The mobs are 30-32 so its very easy for a lvl 30 mage to get his Totem Sticks there. Getting them charged is another thing tho.

Did this as a levl 37 mage, the only problem I ran into was trying to get into the outter binding without all the 39s killing me, but someone else was also around killing most of them so it was easy. But yea just watch out for that

This quest is completely do-able around lvl 32...

I did this at level 31, and this is how:

I summoned a mana agate and cast mana shield on myself. I then blinked straight into the circle, using a mana potion and the mana agate to maintain the shield long enough to complete interacting with the stone.

Luckily, the channeling time for making the brambles is very brief, only around 2 seconds. Then shift click to loot and you're good.

I found a very simple way to do the charging the totems part for players who have a higher leveled character. All you need to do is wait outside the outercircle of binding and then log onto your main and clear out all of the elementals and then log onto your mage and charge the totems.

i just walked strait up to the stone from the road and it wasnt even near any elementals either i was damn lucky or some1 had killed all out of my sight and leaved because i not seen corpse either.
so my tip is to go from to road strait up to the stone!

It was very easy for level 38. Just kill elementals one by one but don't kill last of 'em. Try to body pull before using totems in circle. Elemental will shock you first(just tank it), then will try to cast bolt which is counterspellable. Silenced elemental must chase you to hit(meele) and then freeze it to the ground. This will give you time for putting stick in there.

Watch totem and when it becomes lootable(just in case -you can see "Bolt Charged Bramble" text at tooltip while targeting totem), kill last elemental and just loot it.

Cleared this quest as a lvl 36 mage without any problems at all. Its simple just kill all the mobs you need to to get in to the stone one by one. Its not harder then that. =)

There is a way to deal with the elemental's if you are doing this at lvl 30 and don't have a main to clear them out. Go to 79.35 and kill the kobold's there. http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=2572 They drop http://www.wowhead.com/?item=4480#dropped-by which banishes the elementals! It is a dangerous place though if your on a pvp server as this area is right next to the horde flight point. Takes a little while to farm up enough charms but is well worth it(probably need at least 10). Of course you could probably pay a high lvl to do this for you but its just a helpful hint if you don't have the money but have the time.

Get the totems from witherbark village in Arathi then take them to circle of outerbinding stone, done!
took me forever for figure it out!

Hey guys I have a problem. When I come to the middle of the circle and use sticks, it fails. No charging, no waiting, no looting bramble...just failed.

is there any way to get the witherbark things easy without help or death at lvl 30? if not i just have to move on until 35

Solo'ed as lvl 34 frost mage. Definitely not easy, but doable. I have 3 miners, so the jade wasn't an issue to get ahold of for free. The stone circle was the only problem.

The trolls are not an issue at 34. But the elementals are still 37-39, with 3 lvl 39 in the middle of the circle. Went in from the road to Hammerfall, cleared out the first 2 elementals on the side, then went after the ones in the middle.

The trick I found to the 39s in the middle, since at 34 you're going to miss 75% of the time, is to stay at max distance. Once they run out of mana, they will not come after you. Then you simply have to outlast them and I just kept spamming frostbolt till they died, then drink/eat till you're back at 100% and go after the next one. When I had only one guy left, I started to get worried about the ones on the outside respawning, so I popped the mana shield, ran in there and stuck the brambles in the stone, then kited the last guy outside the circle, frost nova to keep him there for a few seconds, blink back in, and picked up the charged bramble. Health pot halfway to stay alive, and then died while trying to escape.

Not the most elegant solution, and then using your high level toon to clean out the place first may be a lot easier. Log in/out times seem to have gotten a lot worse with 3.0.8 though.

man, after i get all the 10 pieces annd go to the circle what exactly do i need to do there?
i tried killing all of them, put the thing in the midle and waited, but i coudent loot it.
Do i need to kill all the elements or leave 1 alive and then kill?

Is anyone experiencing problems with getting the Sticks charged?

I get all 10 sticks, put them on Centre stone and nothing, no matter how many mobs are there etc

I've now tried this a total of seven times and am pretty fed up !

I'm trying to finish this quest and can't get the totem sticks to drop. Killed about 25 trolls and not 1 drop. Got the jade but no sticks. Is this quest busted? Please help.

I just can't do it! I've got the item Jade, but I can't get the Bolt Charged Bramble! I come into the circle, "use" my 10 Witherbark Totem Sticks but The stick stay floating over the stone and can't do nothing! I can't right-click on it. What do I do? Is it a bug?

Update: I realized it was a bug of the server I play.

Did Blizzard retire this quest? Before 4.0.1 hit, one of my mages had this quest in his log. This quest (along with a few others) went missing after 4.0.1/4.0.3 hit.

I *was* able to re-acquire the other missing quests, suggesting the loss of quests was just a glitch. However, when I returned to Tabetha, she did not offer this quest to me again.

I've opened several tickets on this problem with Blizz's Cust. (Dis)Service Dept., but I have yet to receive a clear and definite answer from them. >:-P

The building of a mage's wand is not easy. Rare substances are required, and a vessel must be made that can store great quantities of magical energy. You must gather these things and bring them to me.

I have written onto this parchment that which you need, and instructions on how to get it. Bring me exactly what is on this list, and follow my written directions to the letter, for if you do not then when we make your wand things might go... badly.
