Tazan is just south of Ratchet in the Pirate camps. He is in between the first two camps and can sometimes be seen walking towards Ratchet. He is usually killed so be patient and if you do not see him when you clear the camps just come back in 5 minutes or so.

Trick quest!! he's in the inn in Org, hiding in the corner. But he's a soft target, so you will have to wait for him to respawn. Pickpocket him, you get the key, but then you don't have it in your bags......

go and buy your thieves tools and pick pocket the bag open. training for this next to therzok.

There isnt a key on this Gomen, i pick the lock but its still locked and there is no way to open it now. :/

Gamon is in the INN in Orgrimmar. You must pick his pocket to get the key. The key will go into your keyring. Open your bag with the satchel and your keyring. Click on the key, then move the blue hand to the satchel. You may have to try more than once. Once the satchel is open, take the journal.

If you purchase thieve's tools you can pick the lock after a few attempts and save yourself all of that trouble.

The quest is bugged, in my case. When i open the sathcel or bag or what is it with the key, nothing happens. Bag just dissapears.

Opened first time for me, maybe it's been fixed in a more recent patch.

dude its a low level rouge quest your rouges people just pick the dumb thing open duu thats what lockpicking is for

You dont get lock picking untill you lvl 16 so it would just be easier to Pick Pocket Gamon, why you wouldnt have done this quest a soon as you got to lvl 10 i dont know

You can just pick the lock instead of getting the key from Gamon, you will get skill level from this. Instead of opening the satchel and completing the quest, you can just abandon quest to destroy the satchel, start the quest again and you will have a fresh, still locked satchel to raise your skill with. Orange until 30, yellow until 55 and green until 105.

I'll leave it to you to get Tazan's satchel open, and return to me with its contents. The locking mechanism is complex, so it would probably be easiest if you obtained the key.

As you didn't find it on Tazan's body, I can only assume that he left the key in the care of another... Ah, yes, that's right. He had an assistant named Gamon. A drunkard, you'll most likely find him at the tavern. Perhaps you could quietly relieve him of the key.
