The felhunter killed me. Now it is not giving me any options. How do I summon him again without starting over completely. I cannot possibly be the first person who was killed by the felhunter. What do I do now??

If you fail the quest you should just be able to abandon it and pick up this quest again from Strahad Farsan to try again.

Don't know how you could die to the felhunter, he only has about 1000 health and doesn't hit that hard.

One thing that helped me is that since the Felhunter is not your summoned pet, you can use a summoned pet during the fight.

I summoned my VW and he aggro'd the Felhunter while I cast spells.

Worked great the first time.

this is a real easy fight, summon a VW befor u summon and sacrifice it (for the shild) and when felhunter pops out, nuke it with searing pain

Im just now on the second leg of the quest in the wetlands.all i see is the raiders where are the casters that have the rods?

In the progress it says 'Every <class> should have a felhunter at his command. Though it be difficult to tame, the powers it brings to its master far outweigh the cost.' but in fact this is a warlock only quest, and not for any class...it should say 'Every warlock should have a felhunter...'

As of 2.3 Experiance gained @lvl 46 is 5800

Just one lowly shadow bolt put it down at level 70. What can I say, I didn't need it to level...

So yes, you can go back and get it if you didnt get it at level 30. Cant wait to interrupt some people.

Failed First Attempt

If you happen get logged off after turning in this quest and re-log to find no "circle" (orjust messed up the first time) then you can abandon the quest, abandoning the quest WILL destroy the tome but after you re-accept, the tome "magically "appears again. Then after you have re-accepted "The Binding" he will cast the circle, read from the tome and get you felhunter!

If you fail, you can summon again =) it will say that the tome will be destroyed but when you take the q again you can do it all over again :)

I had my voidie standing in the circle commanded to stay and set on aggressive ... it went right for the felhound's throat instantly.

Guard came in and gaped at it when it was 90% dead, but didn't attack. They may have fixed this with the WOTLK patches.

all i have to say is the quests you have to do to get the felhuner was way easier than i thought. the eye of kilrogg really helped in getting the moldy tome. all i had to do is scout from the mountains until i found the moldy tome. then i took out 2 murlocs that're by them selves. then i tred to kill one more near the camps but the other two got agrroed,and attacked my VW. so i thought waht the heck, run in get the tome,and hearth back to the UC, and then makea trip to thousand needles. when i went on that trip i switched out the eye for the CoR, taht reall helped keep me from getting bumrushed. th toughest time i had was when my VW was double teamed. so then i went down the path to the right then i got to the waterfall,and looked on the ohter side,and saw the box taht had the manuscript, the redish brikem box. all i had to do was kill one more centaur. get the manuscript, and the trun in the quest in the UC. then i went to a warlock trainer,and got my felsteed,and taht helped get to the dragonmaw camp alot faster. i went to the back, and all i had to do was kill about 8 warlocks to get the rods. then i hearthed back to the UC,and took a trip from there to rachet,and trunned in the final tome quest,and then did the binding quest. it's actually alot easier than i thought. what i did was have my VW sit near the center of the circle,and summoned the felhunter,and my VW helped out big time. i barely got hit a couple of times, but my VW was laying the smackdown, and i was hitting the felhunter with CoA, Corrpt., and a few other afflictions,and finsished it off with drain soul. that guard came in but for some reason it ddin't attack the felhunter. i was like it's all good, lol. so anyhow, i gota soul shard from killing the felunter, turned in the quest,and got my felhunter, a lil cash,and a 16 slot soulbag, cool. i tested out the devor magic,and it works. jsut for fun i may go try to kill those undesd elited in the dead scar with it. cause i whipped they back sides with my other minons a few times,and i'll go to try it with the felunter just for fun. by the way doing all those quest for the felhunter had ,e less than 1 bar from 31. all i had to do was kill a few snapjaws to get to 31,and now 'im trying to get mt enchant, tailor skills up when i play again. i'm blood elf warlock,and i'm ivesting my tps in demonology to get the felguard among other skills, and waht not.

my bad on a typo i meant to type broken not briken, lol. but the quest for getting the felhunter was easier than i thought. but i got my felhunter at lvl 30 although it'll be awhile beore he's more usleful, but his devour magic is a nice starting skill.

well im lvl 40 and i cant find the summoning circle so i need somone to tell me find it or tell me where it is

Go to Ratchet.

Go to the flight point. Go uphill to the Warlock's tent ( in the cliffs above the Goblin Ratchet boss's digs ). Summoning circle is on the floor inside that big tent.

A way easy way to do it is to have your pet on aggressive and have him get aggro then the guard wont attack you.

i just used the voidwalker and was very easy the summoned hunter has 1000hp i did it at lvl 30 the circle is just inside the hut

lol this sounds freaking easy, kill a creature with 1000hp

succubus, immolate, curse of agony, corruption, seduction, shadow bolt. run around in circles and wait 5 secs for it to die...

your dots do at least 600, ur shadow bolt does like 175, and ur succubus easily does the rest

even if there is a guard, just searing pain spam and try to get last hit
gonna be easy

Very easy kill all u do is immolate, corruption then curse of agony and like one shadow bolt and all the time hav ur VW tormented him so u dont die and then he dies like that!

I'm having real trouble with this quest. I've completed all the components up to the binding, however, when I summon the felhound and defeat it, I do not get credit for the kill, and thus cannot complete the quest. I've tried the quest both with and without a demon pet; tried abandoning and restarting the quest; tried abandoning and deleting the book, restarting the quest, and tried bashing my face into the computer screen. None of these seem to get around the problem. I have a ticket in, but we all know how long it can take to get a response, and i was hoping the Wowhead community might know a solution.

We had the same problem with a level 65 warlock tonight. What worked for him was killing the summoned demon slowly. He dismissed his pet, tossed a Corruption on the felhunter and just stood there.

I have to add that the problem existed the succubus quest as well. The trick solved the problem for that quest too.

just finished as a lvl 49 lock and had no issues. killed the felhunter with a corruption, curse of agony, then poked with a dagger all while my voidwalker took the hits. perhaps it's fixed?

seriously. i got everything done, strahad drew the circle, i summoned the felhunter, and then he attacked it first! even though i killed it too, he walked away with MY FELHUNTER! and i don't know what to do. i don't want to restart the whole thing, it took a long time to do! I thought that wank*r was in the tent just to look, i didn't think he could steal it!

seriously i want to hurt somebody. any advice on what i should do? please don't tell me to restart is the only way.

p.s. i still have the book, but i need the summoning circle to be remade by strahad (and i don't know how to make him do that).

If you are sufficiently prepared, then we should begin. Let me explain the process to you.

I will begin by creating the basic summoning circle. When that is finished, my acolytes will use the rods of channeling to create the greater circle.

Once that is done, read the incantation from the Tome of the Cabal, and the felhunter will be pulled forth. Be careful, <name>. A felhunter is a powerful foe, and I'd like to see you keep your head on your shoulders.
