Coordinates 68.2 49.2 confirmed. You have to follow the shallow land starting at 66.0 48.0 that leads to the island, otherwise you get fatigued.

For the follow up of this quest, here is some info:

Mob: Affray Challenger (hostile)
Level: 26-27
Health: 860

They come one after the other with a 15-20 second break between. You kill them one by one, if too many Demoralize Shout to fear them all, and hunt them one by one. When you have killed the 5 (?) challenger, the boss comes.

Boss: Big Will (neutral)
Level: 33
Health: 1300

You might want to get full health points before going further, you got time to bandage or eat. He is easy, put a rend, demo-shout, use retaliation (if you are desperate) and he is down. Does not hit that hard either, around ~40 and crits ~70 (with demo-shout on).

This quest was really cool. Loved it. And really easy. the boss is easy too. Just rend him and heroic strike him. use execute at the end :P

How is the quest completing at the Horde ? The quest is starting only in SW. It says Both but its Alliance only.

this quest cant be obtained (for alliance) from warrior trainers in Stormwind as well as in Ironforge and Darnassus. whilst on this quest, when you are in ratchet horde characters become friendly units, so they can not attack you as, you can not attack them - (PvP server... i think)

Quest is incredibly easy if you demo shout each challenger as this will fear them. It should be cooled down and ready to use by the time the next guy aggros.

Torm Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff starts this quest if you're more into obeying cows.

Edit: This was relevant back in the day when Torm Ragetotem wasn't listed among the questgivers.

If you are very careful, you can actually walk to this island from the west without doing a single swim stroke.

This is the best area in which to level up herbalism from 85-150 or so (on stranglekelp), esp if you're low-level, because nothing is aggressive on the island. There are usually 2 stranglekelp nodes here at all times, respawning after about 10mins.

You need to go to the trainer in SW ( old town district ) if you are a human.

Depending on who you have the highest rep with determines which NPC you get this Quest from, I for example am a nightelf, but my highest rep was with Stormwind , therefore i could not attain this Quest from Darnassus but instead had to go to SI:7 in Stormwind... hope this helps :)

I have a level 30 Draenei Warrior and can't seem to locate the NPC to start the Quest "The Islander". I have visited Kelv Sternhammer & Wu Shen & Ahonan. None of these NPC's or nearby NPC's offers the quest. Is this a Draenei bug, am I not high enough level, or what?

I just got the quest (Level 30 Draenei) from the Warrior trainer Wu Shen in Stormwind and I have the highest rep with Exodar at the moment.

Not sure why the other draenei warriors are having trouble, worked fine for me.

Easy for a level 30 prot spec. Did this at level 30. Anyways, to find this isle without ANY addons, look at the map of the Barrens. There is an island north east of Northhold Watch and South East of Ratchet.. this is the Isle.

This quest chain is no longer needed to attain Berserker Stance, you can now train it from any warrior trainer.
I believe the quest is also no longer available as when i checked for the quest on my level 37 warrior it wasn't available.

Your renown as a warrior grows, <name>. Now it is time to pit yourself against your peers and see where you stand.

There is an island off the coast of the Barrens, south of Ratchet. It is called Fray Island and it is a place where warriors meet.

Meet, and fight.

Speak with the chief warrior of Fray Island, Klannoc Macleod. If he finds you worthy, then Klannoc will lead you further down the warrior's path.

To reach Fray Island, search for the sand bar shallows along the Merchant Coast.
