Ashlan Stonesmirk is situated at 50, 18 in Wetlands (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=1073). The next part of the quest sends you back to the dam in Loch Modan.

Jumping off the dam seemed very tempting for me, but I recommend you take the normal route unless you have slow fall or similar spells.
I did jump off the dam, only to die through falling damage even despite landing in the water, which in fact just isn't deep enough.
You'll end up having a looong corpse run, since the dam is followed by two waterfalls which you can't climb from down below.

Don't jump of the dam, go to the east side of the dam and down the ramp like the quest tells you, there's a bucket on the ground @ 56,13

It is strongly suggested that you put your hearthstone in Thelsamar if youre doing this, makes getting back much easier.
