Not sure if i just got lucky but i ran over there and the first one i killed drop this. I spent more time running then killing things.

Hatefury Shadowstalkers are located in NE desolace, coords 71 17

Did 3 runs or more to the camp and killed all Shadowstalkers and no drop.

i think blizzard changed the drop rate. the drop rate is very good for me. i ran in to sageron and killed 2 Shadowstalker. they both droped The scalp.

I had to kill like 20 to get the quest item :(.

Seemed as if there were only two actual Shadowstalkers in the whole place, and I had to wait for their respawns. Found one at 71,17 and another at 76,23. The scalp dropped off the second kill.

Found mine at 79,21. It took 10 shadowstalkers before I got the drop.

These mobs are around 75,20.
Knowing this item has a 4,5% drop chance, you can easily calculate it will take roughly 20 mobs to get this item. Although, I have experienced a much lower drop rate, and ending up killing around 50 for this item. Overall, nice XP reward from both the quest and all the mobs, and since I was playing a hunter, It wasn't too bad at all. And you are highly unlikely to kill 50 mobs for it. ;) Worth the effort.

I found two of them at 72, 16 and i got mine off of the second kill as well, might just be luck but it didnt take long for me.

I found 6 in a row; one after each other on Cenarion Circle. Quest was Easy, third one dropped it.

More mobs if you go up to 72,13 there is a small valley the other side - 4/5 were there when I went. Dropped on the third. Watch out for the L37 Swoop.

Although it seems if you kill the others they respawn as something else? I killed a load of Tricksters and Rogues and they seemed to come back as Shadowstalkers. Probably quicker to just kill everything you see rather than run about looking for a specific type.

It would be nice if people/players stop using only coordinates. Not everyone has that program nor can install it in their computers.

I got the scalp off of other hatefury mobs, so you don't have to kill the shadowstalkers specifically to get this.

Interestingly enough, even though I made sure I killed the ones with heads, several of them didn't have any scalps.

As the screenshot above shows, the shadowstalkers are holding a large scimitar type sword in their right hand. Look for the sword and they are very easy to pick out from the rest of the satyrs there. It took me 3 kills to get the scalp.

I believe I can find this demon lord given the proper reagents.

If he is indeed as powerful as I suspect, I will need items gathered from deadly creatures. But you act in the Warchief's name, so I am sure you will accept my task.

First, I will have to break any wards he has against scrying. For this, I will need the scalp from a satyr--but not any satyr. The scalp must come from a Hatefury shadowstalker.

Search for them among the ancient ruins in the northeast of Desolace.
