Does anyone have any insight into which of these two clans you should try to build rep with?. It seems each quest is geared to gain the upper hand with one or the other faction Gelkis or Magram. If there is no different please advise. Thanx.

Think the admins were hinting at what they'd like us to do when they titled the Magram quest "Brutal Politics" and the Gelkis quest "Strange Alliance". I.E. brutalize the Magram and ally with the Gelkis?

I know we don't have to swing it this way, but I'm going that way just to get it over with.

And I also found Warug at 74,68. North of the main village, in the hills by a bonfire. Can't miss it. ;)

BORING....I had to kill 200+ centaurs of the other clan to get my rep up high enough to finish this quest. I started at 2200 rep, and had to raise it to 3000. The thing is, I was only getting 5 rep from each kill, and some would only give me 1! Only start this quest chain if you are a true grinder.

I got 20rep points for each kill. it took about 20 minutes to gain the friendly rep.

If you ain't an Engineer it might be best to do Strange Alliance instead. It is really hard to get that Advanced Target Dummy in Gizmo for Warug.

Personally I find it weird that The Gelkis the Magic users of the centaur clan gives the good melee class reward and that the Magram the brutes of the centaur rivals give out the better of the caster rewards.

If you do Brutal Politics and follow through the chain you will get one of two items http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6789 Ceremonial Centaur Blanket which is a decent caster cloak or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6788 which is a good leather wearing belt for hunters and rogues.

If you decide to do the Strange Alliance side of the two quests you will receive one of two rewards. You will receive http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6773 The Gelkis Marauder Chain a decent mail chest piece or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6774 Uthek's Finger which to be frank sucks unless you are using a caster dagger or one hand of some sort other than that its pretty much useless.

There is a little insight for you.

Where can i find the boss or what is his name at Magram.......Because i dont know what to do with the quest where i need to get rep with Magram. I got rep with Gelkis but what do i do with the other quest and where do i find the boss at Magram. Uthek the Wise at gelkis was easy but the other one.... :( Thankx ! :P

you can find new leader of malgram ( Warug) on 75,68

The Gelkis are found around 38.85 and the magram are found at 68.72

As a 34 Paladin I soloed this easily. The quest told me which clan to fight against. You will not aggro unless you are already in a battle and another walks past or near. I recommend staying away from the Windchasers as they can heal themselves. The Stampers and Scouts will respawn fast enough for you to mainly concentrate on them.

Also, be sure you pick up the quest "Centaur Bounty" while you do this quest. Otherwise your going to spend a long time on these two quests ;]

If you just need a quest to grind out some XP, then there is nothing wrong with this one. If however you are a rogue, and/or a miner or herbalist, skip it.
Until you start picking fights with them, the Gelkis centaur are neutral - non hostile. A rogue can have a field day pickpocketing these guys without worrying about them turning around and attacking, because they basically ignore you anyway. If you do get aggro just vanish.
Miners and herbalists also benefit. Other than looking out for a random swoop or basilisk, you can farm the nodes in the Gelkis area with little fear of aggro.
Of course, same is equally true for the quest Strange Alliance.

I've been killing these guy all day, at least 30-40 of them and everytime I go back to Warug, it still tells me I am not friendly with them. What gives?

Exactly 46 kills of the gelkis with 22 rep each to gain friendly with the magram here didnt bother me much

I did the Strange Alliance quest, but the brutal politcs quest was next on the "to do" list. Will I accually have to kill over 3000 Gelkis Clan members to complete both quests? Or should I just drop the brutal politics?

Note that the earthcaller elemental pets also give you rep :O

Is there any way to switch factions to do this quest? I am friendly with the Gelkis so I can't kill them to complete the quest, but I'd like to because I'm trying to do the loremaster acheivement.

Does count for Loremaster of Kalimdor.

Also, if you did Strange Alliance you can rep grind this faction back up to do this chain. I do recommend that you try kill as little of the Magram as possible, because for every 1 you kill will need to kill 5 of the Gelkis to bring the rep back up.

well i did friendly with Gelkis first....i'm not sure if i want to kill all those gelkis to bring the magram back...

We must learn how to beat the centaurs, and to do that... we must ally with one of the clans. The Magram centaurs war with the Gelkis. If you fight the Gelkis then the Magram might consider an alliance.

Earn the favor of the Magrams then speak with Warug, in the Magram village in southeastern Desolace.
