Looted the pendant from my fifth kill, it was a murkshell clacker level 40.

This quest was excruciating. Took around an hour and a half to get it and around 100 kills. It's entirely in water, so the slow movement speed coupled with the terrible drop rate will make you rip your hair out. I suggest leveling to 41-42 so you can attack the crabs in Tidefury Bay. They are more concentrated in one area so you don't have to swim around as much. If you're not that high, there is a sunken ship near Theramore that has a decent spawn of crab people. If you swim in one big circle/oval around the penisula and stop at the boat, you should be able to keep a constant kill rate up, albeit slow with the swimming.

mhm that quest is damn lotto, i advice u if quest item wont drop from like first 10-20 mobs just abandon it, it took me like 7 kills on one char and like 300 on second one without drop, and yes i was killing right mobs and i had quest

At 55,62, there's a sunken ship completely surrounded by these crab people. Some of them are casters and heal themselves, so bring your kick/pummel/etc.

I got this off about 20th kill around 58, 63. Dropped off a razorclaw in the boat. There are a ton of them levels 42-44 here. Also, right behind the boat is a path through the mountains which helps tons for getting back to the town.

I've done this quest on so many different characters and it's always taken about an hour to get the drop. But I just did it on my mage, and it dropped of the 1st kill, a lv 42 Muckshell Scrabbler around 55, 61

The best part about this quest is the bugged mobs hiding behind the mud in the shoreline that damage you and you can't attack them back.

Almost four years and Blizzard still hasn't fixed this bug? Shameful. Just shameful.

- Nazeer Bloodpike wants you to take the pendant to Zor Lonetree in Orgrimmar.
- Give the pendant to Zor Lonetree, located just inside Thrall's Fortress.
= Experience and Faction with Orgrimmar.

Service to the Horde
- Speak with Zor Lonetree again.
- As thanks, choose between two ring rewards.
= Ring, Experience, 1 gold 10 silver, and Faction with Orgrimmar.

As of 2.3 the mobs involved in this quest are all level 36-38, but confirmed to still drop the Jeweled Pendant (I got mine off a Muckshell Scrabbler). Don't get discouraged and start thinking they've changed how to fulfill this quest, or thrown off by the fact a quest that's yellow at 42 requires killing level 36 critters (who are just barely green).

Damn, am so lucky! Second kill :). There not all underwater, the whole zone where they are (56,47) is alot of little islands that somtimes have them on, if not you can always pull them on if you hate fighting in the water, like i do.

Wooooooooooot omg I'm so happy, after my 572nd kill I got it, and thats not an exaggeration I'm afraid, took me a lil over 4 hours, but hey I guess its not broke, still something should maybe be done to help out the drop rate cuz I feel slightly insane =(

Alright, when i did my search i tried a couple things, my own aggro, and the guy that got two, thanks a lot man i happened to get it by my fifth kill but it was right by yours, and it was a crackler, so keep those things in mind.

Did this on my level 39 Hunter. I was lucky though. Started at the top of the bay, did some island hopping (one muckshell on every island) and got it on 7th kill, of a scrabbler.

I don't know if this will help much. I was killing these things in the bay, and I mean hundreds of them! I went from 50% of lvl 41 to 72%. Thank god I'm undead, having to surface every second fight would have had me cutting my wrists!

Anyway, what I wanted to share was that there are two spawns close together inside the forward part of the sunken ship in the bay (55,62). It dropped off of one of these for me. It may be random but give it a shot anyway.

I consider this broken. The drop rate is so insanely low with green mobs that I don't even want to waste my time grinding that it's just simply not worth the investment of time. I gave up well after 100 kills.

I am well over a hundred muckshell kills on my druid and the pendant still has yet to drop! I agree with a couple of the others posters here it is hard to resist wanting to give up.

On the way swimming back to shore, two kills in and the darn thing finally dropped.

lol.. I was killing the gray-blue crabs longer into the ocean for like 20 minutes before I read these posts here, so I went to 55,62 at the sunken ship and killed ONE green crab, and guess what, the pendant dropped 1st kill, so with other words, DONT KILL THE BLUE-GRAY CRABS LONGER INTO THE OCEAN, THEY DROP NOTHING BUT SHELLS AND &*!@!! ;-)

I had to go up and down the coast before I found it. 60, 69 is where the pendant dropped for me, which coincidentally is another ship wreck. So there's 2 ship wrecks surrounded by these things. I probably killed 30-40 before it dropped off a Scrabbler.

As a side note I have enough crab meat to start a beach party. :D

This Quest is Beyond Foolish for it's very very extremely poor dismal drop rate-----
At level 48 as a Arms warrior it took me over 70 kills it finally dropped on my 76th kill~~
That was approximately 1hour's worth of work for a reward that is less than 2 gold not to mention the very painful bitter taste of grinding on gray mobs that at best give u 20-30 silver. Unless your desperate for reputation do not absolutely do not waste your time like I and many other have on this quest!

This quest is actually quite easy except for the low drop rate (about 3% off level 35-36 mobs). The lobster dudes have relatively low HP and don't hit very hard.

I will have to say that this quest is now at the top of my “thanks for wasting my time” list. I spent three hours killing the muckshell crabs and no drop. I actually kept count and gave up at 178 kills. I opened a ticket thinking the quest may have been bugged but as usual, all I got from the GM is I may have a bad addon? Thank you Blizzard.

I Agree with lotta yas, its tempting to give up for me a 42 druid yeah not much xp but the quest is yellow, odd but ok, guess i got lucky 12th drop hitting scrabber after another think helps keep the drow rate higher, from exp on killing various mobs its not a proven theory, but killing same type of mob over n over i think will help raise the drop rate.

I feel really lucky after reading these comments on this quest's drop rate. I got it on my 18th kill from one of those on the little islands @ 60,59 I also got a Reticulated Bone Gauntlets and a green pair of mail leggings just before. Made my day after questing all day on my Shadow Priest lol.

THIS QUEST IS STILL NOT ANY EASIER. As far as a quick drop goes. As of today, you still have to kill a lot before the drop. I went to the two locations mentioned above. First went to the 55,62. You could get one there I suppose, however there's only a couple of the Murkshell there. South, close to Tide Fury Cove, (where you go for the high level fishing quest), I went to the above mentioned 59,46 as well BUT at 60.1, 67.9 is a sunken ship. There, you will find a BEVY of Murkshell, you turn around and there's another and another. I got my pendant here. GOOD LUCK!

This quest was pretty easy. drop rate is low but picked up pendent under thirty kills at 55.5, 65. You can see a ships sails then just dive in. Used hunter with tracking, red dots galore.

Two sunken ships one east, one west. Both have a chest spawn by the side of the ship

Two rare spawns can be found in this area;
Lord Angler, a slighlty larger murkshell walking on the surface beneath the water between the two sunken ships.

Hayok, a white wind serpent walking on the hillside just above the shoreline where you can find Lord Angler (the area of small hills on your map east of the water)

Holy crap what a low drop rate. I went throug 6 water walking elixirs (15 min each) and not a damn thing. I'm using Everyquest and Marg Speaks is the next available.

Okay I give up... after committing Muckshell genocide for a couple hours, killing over 200 of them, I still have not gotten the quest item. I have horrible luck with drops anyway, but this is just awful. Maybe, I will try again tomorrow.

While near Theramore, I spied a group of Alliance soldiers camped on the beach. And one soldier wore a pendant... a pendant laden with more gems than any soldier could afford!

That night I snuck into their camp and stole the pendant, but on my return to base a muckshell crab-man killed me!

<name>, you must find that muckshell and recover the pendant!
