Open the pod on top of the tower at 60, 53. Take the goo. Two spawns will appear when you open the pod, they need to be killed together within 10 secs. So bring one down to about 2-3% and kill the other, then kill the first. Loot the Encrusted Silithid Object, and deliver the quest.

The main reason to do this quest is for rep. If you are already lvl 60 and need CC rep, this isn't a bad chain for you. After you get the object from the tower and return to CH, you get 100 rep. Then you go to Moonglade and finish up the quests for another 200 rep.

It's a much nicer way to get rep than grinding twilight cultists and their dukes/templars for repeated item turn-ins.

Check around for uncompleted quests, there's usually some easy reputation there.

Solo'd as a Level 57 Warrior
You don't have to fight to reach to top of the tower.
Just run to top of the tower and die there.
Then recover your corpse there will be two enemies.
Dring a pot and fight only one of them .
When you kill it it will drop the object.
When you get it run for your life or ressurect from spirit master
You completed the quest...

rogue 57, solo, easy. in stelth go up, use quest item, use evasion + Adrenaline Rush, Blind 2 Hive'Ashi Ambusher. pick up quest item, vanish and jump in window.

Ran to the top of the tower and was able to drop the aggro of the three mobs before I got there. Opened the pod, killed one mob, looted and jumped. ;) Easy peasy. Solo'd as a 59 priest.

Confirmed about the 'They need to be killed together within 10 secs' thing, forgot that, i still killed all 3 the ambushers as a shaman though. Pretty easy, 1000 health left and 500 mana, but i did run up and died. Used ankh, drinked to full health/mana and killed all 3. They're very easy as a level 56 shaman.

Soloed this as a 56 shadow priest. The bottom of the tower had two of the druids that I pulled out to to kill first, each of whom spawned a bug. Once those two went down, three bugs spawned when I actually entered the tower itself. I dealt with those, and then there were two bugs at the top. I killed one, looted the item, and jumped out. The hardest part for me were the three bugs at the bottom that spawned, and I had to fear them around to handle them all.

Rogue 55. Went in... all went after me up. used vanish... got to top did preperation.. open the sack... killed 1 mob... looted.. used vanish. Easy q as a rogue.

did this as a 54 shadow priest, and I can tell you it wasn't easy! I had to die a couple of times before making it to the top of the tower. the easy part was up there, feared the two mobs, killed the lowest lvl (56 in my case) looted it and levitated out :) the tough part of this quest was the part where you go inside the tower and you have these three drones that pop up...especially cause i didn't know they would ^^ but otherwise quite simple and nice xp (6000)

and it isnt group quest!?
this quest is so condusing and stupid. but it was very nice for xp. and i coudnt make this with my warrior lvl 55 arms.
at the lower of the tower, i feared mobs and took major healing potion when hp was low, but that coudnt kill them.....
this quest is unbeliveble. i had to get help from lvl 58 warlock and thne we could togheter kill the lower guards, and at top, the ambusher never stopped spawning, and i took advice from wowhead, and well there wernt any good advices ....
i maybe did this 10 times to get past lower of tower, and i still cant loose my mind of wow that typing this quest as yellow for lvl 55, and more worse is that it wasnet a group quest....

Soloed as 56lvl affl lock. Killed two mobs at lower level, enough simple, main thing - is to take one wasp from VW, then at the top drink/eat/consume shadows, Took about 5 mobs, then ran out of mana..Sacrificed VW, looted corpses and ran out... This q is simple for lock, but even with VW it's pretty hard for 55 level...

The 1st post here is very misleading. I died 3 times trying to take one down to < 5% health, then kill the other, etc. This may be possible for a warrior, by as a 57 Rogue I don't have nearly enough armor to take that kind of beating. It wasn't until I realized that YOU ONLY HAVE TO KILL ONE OF THE MOB'S and loot it that I was able to complete the quest.

I was not able to stealth all the way up the tower (there is one mob right on the narrow ramp, and I could not see a way around him, so I just ran up, drawing several mobs in the process, then Vanished once at the top. I have the preperation talent, so I reset the cooldown on my Vanish, spawned the Mob's, killed the weaker one (there is a lvl 57, and a lvl 58), looted it, then Vanished again.

Confirmed that you only have to kill one mob, don't waste your time (and dura) killing both.

Just remember to kill and loot the mob. I forgot to and ended up having to run up and die then rez.

If your a shaman or capable of using a shield, it really helps on these quests.

Solo'd as a 57 Mage (Arcane / Fire).

I'm an Alch, so I used an invis pot, ran to the top. No mobs there. Opened the pod, 2 bugs spawned. Hit mana shield and AP and attacked one of the bugs. PoM Fireball, Fireblast, finished with Arcane Missiles. Looted, jumped, hit slow fall and ran.

I guess the easyest way to do this quest is the way Stompa said..
run like hell in an up as far as u can come, and die.. then ressurect as far up as u get.

then 2 lvl 57-58 mobs appears. consentrate on takin only one (then loot) and jumprun off.. they respawn only a few secs after loot, so dont try to kill the other one :P

I ran to the top of th tower died, rezzed at the top and opened the goo thingy. Two wasps spawned, killed one then died. I got back up and turns out yet another wasp spawned. So I loot the corpse of the wasp I killed, and jumped off the tower. Yelling "You'll never take me alive" and the impact from the jump killed me. So in this quest, I've discovered that the cenarion circle is made up of druids who want me dead.

Completed this as a frost mage but it wasn't easy. Happened like this:

1) In the bottom of the tower were two Tortured Sentinels ( http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=12179 ), each of which spawned a Hive'Ashi Drone ( http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=13136 ) when it was killed.
2) Food and drink time.
3) On entering the tower at the bottom three more Drones spawned.
4) Food, drink, and wait for cooldowns to finish.
5) At the top of the tower two Drones spawned when the goo was collected.
6) Dropped to the bottom and there were some more mobs but at this point I legged it so no idea what they were.

In all for me, two lvl57s and seven lvl58s. Note though that the mobs could have been a level lower and the sentinels don't always spawn a drone when they're killed. Note alse that at the top of the tower there is bugger all room to maneuver - I ran into one corner with mobs chasing to frost nova then ran to the opposite which was just out of melee range of the drones.

As a 56 Hunter I Ran up to the Top of the Tower and Feigned Death. Put on Beastial Wrath + Intimidation and Took out the first bug, then the second. then the third and killed about 12. Then looted one and Jumped.

I noticed in the end they only give 82exp per to someone the same level/lower level than them.

Finally managed to solo it with out dieing. I pulled the guys in the tower and killed them. Healed me and i changed to bear form and got in. I got upstairs and then managed to kill the three mobs by using bear>stomp>heal>barkskin>heal>bear. Then sumoned the 2 insects, killed 1, took the loot and run away!!!

i went up to the tower. in cat form stealthed, when i got up there was two Ambushers. so i killed one, a new one spawned, killed on more, a new spawned. after i killed seven, i though i needed a new plan, went to wowhead, and found out that i didnt need to click the hive, but just loot a bug..

If you're like me, and just don't care enough to kill the mobs, you've always got the option of running to the top of the tower and dying (or Feign Death). It's not a far run from Cenarion Hold. Resurrect, eat/drink up, and prepare for a 2-3 mob fight. Kill one mob, loot the body, and if you don't think you can kill them all, just jump off the tower. You'll likely die, but if you don't, then run.

Quest complete. :)

Mscofield has the right idea. i did it with my 59 resto shammy. i ran up the stairs, died, rez, then fought the two after opening the sack/hive thingie. then jumped off the tower. i feel sorry for those who don't know about WOWhead. essentially this quest is a pain in the butt.

This is quite possibly the worst quest I've ever done.

There are two Tortured Druids or Sentinels at the bottom of the tower, but when you go in, more mobs spawn or appear from upstairs. Even with Retaliation, Death Wish, Gift of the Naaru, a Health pot, Intimidating Shout, and a level-up that restored all my health... I still couldn't kill them. So I ended up running upstairs before I died, where I rezzed, opened the goo, killed the two mobs, and then jumped off to die again.

All the information is correct. The wasps see you, rather you probably bump one trying to sneak by it up the ramp. But you can, once they chase you, run up the ramp and Vanish. That dispelled them.

Then upstairs buff up-I did Elixir of Major Agility and Major Defense. Killed one... Tried to kill the other but another spawned so I looted the one and jumped. They chased but I had Sprint and away I went.

Of course the dying and rez at the top will have the same effect. That's what I thought I was going to have to do so I didn't use my buffs until the top not on the way in. Of course having the Duskbat Cape meant I didn't take any damage from the fall.

Okay, after doing this with a rogue this afternoon, I thought about how to do it with a hunter.

Pretty easy actually.

1. Get to the entrance to the tower...You can avoid most mobs pretty easily unless your too low of level.

2. Send pet in...(throw a mend pet on him/her), let her/him get aggro on the whole room.

3. Run around them and up the ramp. Don't know if my pet killed the bugs but after pet died the only thing that followed me were the druids to the top.

4. Feign death left me at the top alone (took a bit of a hit cause I didn't realize that the druids had followed me).

5. Revive pet, recharge.

6. Set freeze trap, wait 30 sec, raid the honeycomb and summon the two.

7. Freeze trap goes off, kill one get the Encrusted Silithid Object and jump leaving your pet to fight.

8. If you run out fast enough, your pet will despawn and you can summon it as you are running to Valor's rest.

You're done.

As a mage, it isn't too hard. Get up anyway you like and wait until you have full health/mana and all cd's are up. Summon the bugs, ice nova and blast away. When the nova breaks, iceblock until it's back up again. I popped a health pot as this point, they're very handy. Ice nova again, do some more pew-pew, loot, and slow fall off the tower.

It depends on luck and timing.

Solo'ed as 54 Feral Druid, was surprisingly easy!

Stealthed to entrance, popped a lesser invisibility potion (as someone else said above) and ran up the stairs, avoiding all the spawning mobs below. Then opened the hive box.

The 2 mobs that spawn are pretty heavy but keep your Regrowth active all the time and kick off a Rejuvenation every time you cast Regrowth. These 2 will fill your health up just as fast as it is drained. Kick off Innervate when your mana is getting below 40%. And just keep pounding at 1 of the mobs in cat form, ignore the other one. Then when it dies, loot it and jump off the tower. Keep a major healing potion handy in case of problems.

The whole thing took only 2 minutes :)

Just a quick tip... Don't run into the tower to pull the druids. I did that and it made the three bugs spawn so I had to bubble and run. Maybe I'm just an idiot.

The item to loot wasn't there for me, took me about 15 minutes of clearing the tower over and over before I tried relogging. When I got back in, the item was there.

I didn't really think this quest was too bad, I solo'd it as a level 57 Shadow Priest without using any potions, and here is how....

First of all, kill the two druids at the bottom of the tower. I pulled them outside because the 3 bugs don't spawn until you actually enter the room. After that, heal up with food/drink and put a PW:S on. Run through the door and up the tower, by the time you reach the top and the 3 bugs catch up to you, you can probably use another PW:S. Target one, VT -> DP -> SW:P -> VE. Target the next one, VT->SW:P->VE, and again for the last one. The first one should drop fairly soon after you DoT up the last one and then its just a matter of waiting and using MB on the remaining bugs.

If you need health even after all of the VE, drink up/eat and do the same thing to the two bugs that spawn when you open the goo. Done.

Worst. Quest. Evar. Level 57 Rogue. I stealthed into the tower, and was immediately spotted... So I blasted up the ramp and died. I then Rezzed on the ramp, healed up, then stealthed to the top. Here is where the fun began. Opened the pod to get the goo... faced off against the two mobs.... or so I thought. They kept respawning! Four mobs later, and I'm a corpse... so I make my way back to the ramp, rez, heal and back to the top. THEY KEEP RESPAWNING! Three mobs later, and again, I'm a corpse. Lather, rinse, repeat... SAME THING! I must've killed at least 12 mobs before I just swan dove off the tower. And guess what? THEY FOLLOWED ME! Dumbest quest ever. I better ding when I turn this in.

solo'd as a level 57 warrior, but I didn't bother with all that sneaking around and dying. Here's how I did it:

1. Ran into the tower.
2. Killed everything.
3. Ran up the tower.
4. Killed everything.
5. Looted crusty thing.
6. Jumped off the tower b/c I was too lazy to walk down.
7. Contemplated what a bad idea this was.
8. Died on impact.

I soloed it as a 59 holy priest and found it easier to not even bother running to the top while alive. I took the strategy most people did: Die. But if you want less hassle just run into the tower and stand in the middle of the bottom floor and wait for them to slaughter you. When you run back to your body, instead of coming back right next to yourself, climb to the top of the tower in whatever spectral form you posses and come back to life there. You will never be more than about 10 yards away from your body during this climb if you've done it right. Then heal and drink to your hearts content. Loot the goo and kill one of the mobs to get the item you need then jump off the roof (I took 1099 damage from the fall-so careful if you don't have enough health).
Also had the same reaction: Really Mr. Elf? You want me to anger the big bad bugs? Sheesh.

I solo'd as 57 night elf druid - took out the 2 undead and 3 wasps at the bottom, then ran to the top, opened the pod and looted it, killed one of the wasps that spawned, looted it, and jumped. I died on the jump but was in the clear to resurrect at the bottom.

A small add to the above - after looting the goo and (probably) dying from the wasps, run back up the ramp to just short of the upper platform. When you resurrect you will only have one wasp to deal with. The other can't get to you. At least it worked for me.

BTW, next door at Cenarion Hold is an airport. I didn't stay around to see if there is an inn or not, but there were many NPC's with yellow exclamation points.

I soloed as a lvl 56 night-elf druid. Killed the 2 mobs in the tower. Having killed those two mobs, the "death wail result" mobs came at me, and left me with half health (I had to summon some treant friends to help slay them whilst I healed myself) and next to no mana. Went inside to drink and eat.

Haha, how silly of me. ^^ I died very quickly when the three mobs attacked me.

After those were slain, I waited, then ate and drank. Got up the tower, and clicked on the thing that looks like a sea anenome, and was swiftly slapped around my 2 mobs. Killed one, rejoiced, started on the next. A third one spawned. I thought "screw it" turned around and spam-clicked the anenome, and ended up with goo.

Anyways, so I killed the second one (eventually) and turned to the last one. Or so I thought, as a fourth promptly popped in for a little taste of druid tears. When I finally killed that, I looted them all, skinned them all, and didn't jump off. Nay, I ran back down on my big kitty cat and got RAPED by the respawned three mobs at the bottom.

/Sigh.

Just to echo a posting from way back, this is the dumbest frickin' quest. Apparently, I got into the tower after someone else cleared the wasp drones as I didn't have to mess with them. I ran in on my horse and went straight up the ramp without aggro'ing the spirits. Got to the top and had to clear the wasps there - no big deal. Found the sack, looted it and was immediately attacked. When I got close to killing that wasp, another appeared. Didn't think about looting the first wasp (after all, who would) but immediately went to work on the second wasp. When it was almost dead, a third appeared, then a fourth, then a fifth. By the sixth wasp, I was dead. When in a battle with multiple mob, who ever kills one and then loots, kills one and loots, etc..? I finally checked wowhead and figured it out. Finished it, jumped over the side, and now I am here saying that is the dumbest frickin' quest of the 900+ that I have done.

Solo'd as a 57 Demon-wrangling Warlock. Here's the skinny:
1) Two Sentinals inside seemed no prob, even if they produced the Wasps, my Felguard was ready. He was doing fine while I stayed outside dropping DoT's. I ran inside once I was sure he was holding aggro, and 3 wasps appeared.
2) I said and ran back outside, but was followed by the new wasps. Felguard killed the sentinals, which both produced Wasps. FG was running out of mana, I was dropping lifetaps and Drainlife trying to keep up, but couldn't get FG to pull them off me. I died.
3) Immediately soulstoned and started to resummon FG, but decided to call in the Voidwalker. Ate a cheese and watched the wasps congregate inside the tower.
4) Sent in VW, who held aggro and I let him do all the talking; I just kept him healed. Took a while, but the wasps died.
5)Ran up the ramp, activated the goo, and let the VW chew on the 2 new wasps. Not sure when I got the goo-covered book. All the simulated bugs flying around can be kinda stressful.
6)Halfway down the ramp, was met by a respawned Druid. VW stayed on ramp, I ran out the front door. Called VW outside, and took on the Druid. Soon, the second druid respawned. Both cast Heal and DoT's. Painful! Both produced Wasps, but VW held aggro perfectly.
7) Ran out of town and rested with a refreshing soft-drink and more cheese.

After reading the posts here I can only say I wish I had known what to expect; my tactics wouldn't have changed much. I know it is do-able as a solo, though painful, and just an exercise in making use of your class abilities to their fullest. Can't imagine trying this as another class yet, one without a pet to take the heat off me.

As an aside, I just wish to express my hatred of all things insect-like in this game. When I was but a young warlock, fresh out of the mausoleum, I took nearly a dozen steps into Western Plaguelands looking for adventure. I died 3 times by freakish spiders trying to scramble my way back out. Took another 50 lvls before I was willing to go back. {shudder}. I Hate spiders!

This is a horrible quest and I am glad it is over. I had to turn the sound off just to get away from that constant buzzing.

I soled with a 56 Druid Night Elf. Used the Treants at the bottom to give me time to get up the stairs almost to the top before dying.

Rezzed and returned up the steps where I claimed my body. Again used Treants at the top and recovered the items. As a Druid I dropped to cat form and went over the edge with barely any damage. Then stealthed out.

The top is crowded and hard to see. Once I fell off the edge. Be careful and be precise - you will do fine.

I jumped off the tower with 1600 health and i survived. I yelled at the druid afterwards and got some odd looks from a passing Tauren, but it was worth it.

rezzed at top of stairs but ceiling too low to get up to top of tower. wonder if ceiling will clear if everything in tower is killed first. have to come back when im 70 i guess, as rez trick doesnt seem to work any more.

Well this quest was a bit unclear but thanks to WoWhead and you guys I finally found out.
Being a huntress level 80 it's important to not have any pets out or they will kill the mobs you need to kill.

Hive in the Tower

The hive needs to be addressed in Southwind Village, and I think I know a way to get at them. It's been my experience that the silithid hives are very sensitive to their environment; this explains their attacks when hearing the death wails of the spirits.

The silithid are strongest in the tower - the one with the mass of wasps circling it. Scale the tower and jostle the hive into activity. Report back what you learn, but be careful! If you uncover anything that might help, bring it to me.
