These also drop off of the Green Scalebanes and the Scalebane Captins near the Pool of Tears. They are level 42-44.

Drop rate is pretty good, I got all mine within 15 minutes or so. It would have probably been shorter if the paladin wasn't around.

Drop rate is not bad. This is an easy quest, helps with XP obviously and you are grinding the whole time so who cares? Its not like you have to run into an alliance base.

I have to agree that the quest can be very easy, Though the quest is in a contested, (and horde heavy,) area. Most of the high levels are on their way to Duskwood to Gank, and don't bother to stop and look around for alliance in the swamp itself. You will be bothered by little, if any, gank pvp. If you look around a little, the dragons respawn quicker than one person can kill them all. The drop rate, I admit, is pretty bad. But if you go at a time when server traffic is low (aka Not Prime Time) you should have no compitition for this quest and the drops will seem more frequent.

I don't have any Horde toons high enough to enter the swamp yet, but from what I have seen Alliance traffic is pretty much Ziltch. You shouldn't have to look over your sholder much.

For people saying the drop rate is bad - you are killing the wrong ones. If you look at the mobs who drop the Speck of dream dust, the Dreaming & Adolescent whelps have the highest drop rate by far, common sense would tell you to kill those ones, not the others.

I got my 10 from 13 kills. Very easy quest and fairly decent xp.

The hard part of this quest for me was not avoiding the horde but trying to out-kill the botters. There were a couple hunters in the area, and I couldn't kill fast enough to keep up. Very frustrating.

I did it at level 41 and the area was completely deserted. It was easy, gave me good XP and gold, and I managed to get a River Pride Choker in the process.

I guess I got lucky during this quest, cleared the area and got 5 Specks, waited for the respawn and cleared again, another 5 Specks in the bag. Picked up a Long Redwood Bow in the process too.

Can't say it was absolutely horrible, took five times of killing everything to get all ten items. On a bright note, I did manage to hit a gold, silver, and iron vein while I was in that area that spawned during the quest. On another bright note, killing everything got me my last bubble and a half to get to level 41.

There was one mounted Alliance Rogue that ran through, but he just kept going by.

14, 65 confirmed. I got this quest at 40, took me 20 mins, the drop rate sucks, but the respawn is quick! All in all, not to bad of a quest, they are casters so not many hps. They do cast sleep though.

Cleared the area around the lake 6 times on my 37 mage before i got the 10 dust. nice xp for the endless killing, but has to be the worst drop rate i've ever encountered anywhere.

If you choose killing Scalebane Captain, an Greens Scalebanes, they will drop the Dust for 100%.

Drop rate wasn't as bad as I expected Came down the hill started by the pond less than 2 laps around the pond had all my dust and since I'm a skinner got a bunch of Green whelp scales to boot Not bad for 15 min of killin.

Just finished this as a 37 shammy, very easy, about 25% drop rate took me about 10-15 minutes. The dragons go down fast and have a 2-second cast interruptible acid spit that did ~150 dmg to me, as well as being easy to pull alone. The only real problem I could see is there are level 36-37 swamp jaguars that pat around and could aggro while you're fighting a dragon. Otherwise, piece of cake quest.

I do have to say the dust also drops from the adolescents as well this is a pretty easy quest as a lock

Had an extremely low drop rate on all enemies mentioned above, except for Scalebanes, since I can't kill them.

Completely soloable for a bored level 30 Paladin. Judge and Seal Light and do whatever while you're beating on them. Lots of good mining opportunities... and if you're whining about the gankage, whyTF are you playing on a PVP server? That's what PVP server *is*.

4350 xp as of 2.3 !!!!!

Drop rate for me was weird... got my first 5 in like 8 kills, went 12 kills without one, then my last 5 in 8 kills also. So i guess drop rate is around 25-30%.

Drop rate on this quest was the hardest thing about it... Didn't have much trouble as a 37 Priesty. Though, I do have to admit, the amount of blindweed in the area seriously made up for the low drop rate.. :)

You can get this quest at the border of Duskwood and Swamp of Sorrows (at the tower)

Did this with a 41 Warlock and it took way longer than it should have due to low drop rate. I cleared the area at least 5 times before I got all the dust, and since I was above 40 I had to wait for the place to spawn again. I wouldn't bother with this one if you were over 40. As mentioned above I did combine this with 'Nothing but the Truth', but I found that quest even more annoying than this one. The shadow panther hearts are as low a drop rate as the dust from this one, and to make it even worse the panthers are low in number and invisible. I personally wished I hadn't bothered with either of these quests.

In the swamp area around 15,60 I had a great drop rate: 10 in 19 kills (almost 50%) from Dreaming Whelps and Adolescent Whelps. I did this as a lvl 35 Mage with average gear

Annoying quest as hell if some higher level is either farming the whelps or "leveling their skinning."

Has anyone noticed that we're farming cocaine off of whelps for a goblin to snort? I don't condone drugdealing, especially since we only make 26 silver for it at 80.

Its more likely to be a reference to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snuff though some of the stuff they used as snuff looks highly dodgy.

I picked up this quest while working through the Shimmering Flats quest hub for Loremaster. After WAY too much travel and ping-pong between Thousand Needles and Booty Bay, I thought this NPC and/or a quest designer was taunting me.

Yep. Found Dream Whelps & Adolescent Whelps in the glade at 14,66 (vanilla wow) in front of Itharius's Cave (treasure chest inside) in the far southwest corner of Swamp of Sorrows. Got the required 10 dream dust in under 10 mins (38 hunter).
