This quest is relatively easy to solo if you single pull mobs. You can get Dal by himself if you are patient.

Did this at level 28 so the quest just turned green to me. Pretty straight forward quest- kick Dal's ass, rob him of his skull, return to Raene.

To Find Dal, head west out of Ashenvale following the paved road. Not too far after crossing the bridge is a path near a totem pole on the right side of the road, the path heads north. Dal will be wandering up and down that path. Simple.

I was able to drop him with 1 Pyroblast and 2 Fireballs. Dal is NOT an elite MOB, just a named.

At level 28 i got 2000 exp and 110 reputation points with Darnassus, 18 silver and Restoring Balm.

Very easy quest for getting nice exp. Did it at lvl 25 (on my druid) without any problem. Like OverlordQ said, be a little patient and pull it. In the worse, you can just clean the area a bit before you pull him. He's a simple lvl 25 teddy bear; easy to kill :)

Just solo'd with a lvl 22 priest. Not too difficult, but you should indeed wait until Dal Bloodclaw is away from his mates... 1 at a time is doable....

Killed the mob 3 times now, still doesnt drop the skull, i got the quest, very strange..

Soloed with a 23 druid. Could have made my way past the lv 23-24 mobs without prowl, but it was more fun. Dal was a breeze to kill, even with the other mob I picked up at same time. Just clear the path of the thong-wearers before his little camp at top of hill, and you will be fine. He wanders down the hill.

I found it on 39-36. I go on way ad when i saw gate a went around mountain and I saw next gate. In small are before gate was Dal Bloodclaw.

I completed this on my level 29 Hunter, She was level 28 cos i wandered into the cave and though the boss was there.

Soloable as a 22 Sword Rogue. You dont need to clear anything, just wait for him to get at 38,35, pull him down with a throw or gun and kill him. Be sure to put crippling poison on your weapon, as he will run away from you. Evasion helped a lot too.

They have a camp right behind Astranaar at (34,35), There is a trail that leads there at (31,46) right outside the left side of Astranaar.

Dal Bloodclaw: 31.35 you will see him and he comes with two adds.
They do heal him.

If you're very careful you can make your way back there only pulling when necessary and if you wait at the top of the hill above the camp he's in, Dal will walk towards you, solo, and you can take him w/o assistance.

Also followed a 25 priest in doing another quest and we traded kills up the valley, but came back solo and only had to kill 3 to get to the road as a 23 Hunter.

Solo-ed as a 24 Rogue. Stealthed my way up there, Dal was wandering about by himself, i killed him without aggroing any others.

I soloed this quest.. though as a lvl 26 xD
Well anyways, i found Dal Bloodclaw wandering around alone on the path in their village. So there is a chance, at least for a rogue, to sneak past the others & only just have to kill him for getting the skull. I only got to kill 1 bear on the way in, just because i wanted to.. Otherwise you can sneak your way in. This is though only usefull for rogues, you other classes should find another way -.- Hope it helps just a little :]

Solo'd as a 21 prot pally in a mix of deadmines and SFK blues, but it wasn't easy by any means.

Body-pulled them both from log, judged SoCrusader, had BoWisdom up, conc'd a few times + SoR, judging SoR whenever I could. When dal was around 50%, I GotN + r3 holy light. I did end up using a health pot, and got a lucky JoR crit as Dal ran.

Just did it with a lvl25 rouge. Really easy! He at one point is at a point with no adds thats where I caught him. That spot where he is alone is at 37.37

Soloed as a 23 rouge. Just clear a spot where he was going to walk and you can catch him alone.

Soloed today as lvl 80 warrior. Fury specc, dual. blue and epic gear. i found out you can sneak in dodging most mobs. had to kill some. used a couple of pots, but went fine.
the fight: charged in using fear immidiatly, so the adds could not heal. fought him down so i could execute. then ran as fast as i could with some mobs after me.... doable for other lvl 80's i think. esp if they have good gear.

Such an easy quest - if you find it hard killing him with the healing ads, wait until he wonders out of the main camp (towards a smaller camp on the east) and take him out while he's on his own.

There's a safe spot at where you can sit and wait for him to pass right in front of you. I'd suggest using Stealth, Prowl or Shadowmeld while you wait because, even though he's the only mob that used the path for the 15 minutes I sat here, he will aggro on you if you're visible.

As rouge 23 lvl with low gear it was easy- sap the healer,ambush,evasion sinister strike..... evi.....sinister....evi loot and vanish.hes guarded by 1 or 2 healers depending on the spawn.

can anyone tell me why this guy still has a ! in his avatar when you target him in the cave? there doesn't seem to be a quest for him anymore

Directly to the north of Astranaar are the Thistlefur furbolg. My scouts report that their numbers have grown greatly over the past few months. If they grow too great, they may find the courage to attack Astranaar directly.

Kill as many of their kind as you can, but bring me their chieftain's skull as proof that their efforts have been stifled... for now.

I shall remain here in Astranaar and await word from you. Elune be with you.
