I beg to differ. Placing these babies in progressive situations outside of their comfort zone will increase their livelihood, even if they wipe five times to get there. I'm probably one of the most patient pick-up group (PUG) players of all time.Maybe it stems from a stubborn, ill-minded conception that I should pretty much never bail a group. So I'll be in the absolute worst group in the world, weasel my way into leader, and then assume total domination....er, explain to everyone why things are the way they are and lead the group to victory. It takes forever, and some people can't handle blunt leadership, but I beg to reason that if one is willing to take these people places they have never been before it will push them to go higher. They probably don't realize it, but if they're pushed hard enough they'll be thankful for it later. When I am in a new dungeon or a situation which I am not comfortable, I listen to the person leading and take mental notes. Next time, I lead it and I use the same strategies which worked for me. Of course, sometimes this is ill-conceived and we wipe, but hey crap happens. The point is that just as I learned from one, someone else will (hopefully) learn from what I have taught them. Through this empowerment, hopefully I never have to spend another dungeon wiping with those four people again. For someone who pugs a lot, taking four players off the list of "noobs I won't play with" is worth it. That's probably my ultimate goal, though impossible. Instead, I strive for the same objectives of Wowhead and spread that information globally so maybe it can make a more realistic puncture in the inflated balloon that is babysitting.
could of been cooler if you rearranged it to D.I.D. so i could try and sell badges promoting self help saying "i D.I.D. it :D" lol but seriously great layman's terms man
