IMO we need ilvl brackets after this pvp gear change. I love the idea that my pvp/vers gear will be better for PVP content, but that still doesn't eliminate the fact that a lot of people use BGs to gear their brand new max level toons, which can massively cripple your team. As much as I enjoy BGs, I enjoy winning more, and you can't do that if 3 guildies on fresh alts (and of course, at least one of them is a healer) pop in to your match just to be honor farms for the other team. And before people come at me with "it's just QP bro", I get that, and it's still a waste of our time. I'm fine losing if we just played poorly, but it just feels worse if it was because we were vastly out-geared.
THANK GOD. I definitely DO NOT want to do PvP just to get certain trinkets for raiding. GOOD RIDDANCE!
This is an excellent change of stance from Blizzard. We've now gone full circle from WoD to SL. Only took Ion some ~5 years to realize that WoD gearing is basically the best we can get without forcing PvPers to PvE or PvErs to PvP - which we shouldn't!Yes, you will have to get two sets to be "fully viable" in both modes. Suck it up. Everyone who cares even the slightest about the other content already has that anyway, they require completely different stats. It's not like top end PvE gear won't be reasonably OK against undergeared PvPers anyway (and vice versa).Forcing hundreds of thousands of PvPers or PvErs to do tons of content that they don't want to do just so you "won't have to have two sets" on the off-chance that you ever wind up in a PvP encounter is ridiculous.
Im all for this, keep pvp and pve separate. You like pvp? go get pvp gear. You like pve? get pve gear. fairly simple really. What is not cool is forcing pve people to do pvp (or most likely buy a boost) because they need pvp gear to clear pve content.
nooo pls dont do this...pvp gear will be useless for pve again and i need to start raiding again
No thanks. PVP gearing in SL is the only gear that's been good to get, wouldn't be able to participate at all in any PVE content without it, not even close. I've done 10 14's almost every week for 3 vault options there, and killed a few mythic bosses for at least 1 option there, and only 3 times was the PVE piece worth picking.I suppose that means that the bigger problem is that PVE gearing is bad in SL, but making PVP gearing also bad will only make it worse.
Ye this is real bad. Ive had more luck gearing for PvE in PvP.
I'm waiting for the gears to be completely separated, diff stats like resillience and stuff, cause that's how it should be, PvP gear only for PvP and PvE gear only for PvE. Forcing pve players to do pvp and vice versa is idiotic.
3/4 of my gear is 220 pvp gear despite clearing ten dungeons and at least three mythic raid bosses every week. The 25% that isn't pvp gear is my lego, wrists, arms, and boots. My character is literally only able to compete it pve content because of the pvp gear, so if they are taking it away they better do something to compensate. There is no reason why by this point doing as much content as I do that I should still be under geared despite bad luck in the weekly vault.
does this also mean that those certain one-shot classes wont be able to instantly rank up enough to just ride out having highest ilvl gear in pvE things? NICE
Instead, why dont they make pve gear SCALE DOWN in pvp situations? That would be th biggest deterrent for people gearing up in pve in order to pvp.
Will not work at all
