I'll be the one to say it, I know it's the unpopular opinion: I am loving the Sylvanas storyline. It's so great watching her actually seem to doubt and feel and to cling to this because she thinks it's right. I love it.
I wouldn't mind if she turned on the Jailer, but that itself is not redemption. She should still face justice for her crimes. Perhaps one of her choices would be self submitment to the Venthyr.
This is interesting
Sylvanas redemption arc inc. We will never be slaves 2.0. All is forgiven.
This is certainly... Interesting.I feared a Kerrigan "I was on your side the whole time" type of redemption arc but it looks like this is not the way its going.Be it manipulation or actual remorse, color me... Intrigued.
Sweet. Although any remotely nuanced storytelling will annoy the plebs who just want 2D goodies who win and 2D baddies who get punished.
everyone crying about a redemption without knowing at all where the story may turn... for all you know, youre being set up to think thats the case and then it 100% isnt. chill out and wait
THAT WAS !@#$ING AWESOME
For those who are maybe a little too shortsighted, this isn't about Sylvanas' redemption. It's about Sylvanas' trauma at the hand of the Lich King.It was to be expected that this dilemma would be brought forth ever since the Sylvanas' short in BFA. She isn't afraid of being the Lich King (queen?) herself. She knows her worth and she has the knowledge and strength to be one regardless of the current situation. Beside, she basically was the Lich Queen in BFA.No, the choice is much more emotional here and it's somewhat related to hope. The parallel here is closer to being the one to create the Lich King and unleash the hopelessness that would ensue. This is why she hesitate. She can never be redeemed, but most villains have threshold they're not willing to cross. Sylvanas may or may not cross it, if only to spite Anduin.
Wowhead staff - RE: this tweet:https://twitter.com/Wowhead/status/1345507839129784320Please stop tweeting screencaps and telling us which characters are in cinematics you've datamined. While you aren't completely spoiling it in the tweet, you're still posting enough information that it changes the experience for players who want to be completely surprised. Be better, please.
Loving all the mouthbreathers who want their characters to be 2D charicaricatures with no remorses or inner struggles, or doubts or any facets. You people complained all through BFA that they didn't give her arc depth, she has depth and you simpletons complain. Blizzard will not and should not listen to anything you have to say.Anyway, very interesting dynamic, my guess is that she'll still be an ''antagonist'' role but she'll betray the Jailor for sure.
Actually there are so much worse villians that are in game potrayed still as heroes and nobody care. But when Sylvanas come at the light some people just start crying like childrens. I tried to find out why is this so precious theme for some people and why there are people who want to end her and who want to save her more than anything else. It's not about story...people just want "win" against second side. They want be the "right" ones in the end. I just hope Blizzard do not rewrite story just because some people can't divide their lives from the game. I personaly think that redemption story for villians is quite fresh story. I hate see every villian in raid. It's boring. And i can't wait to see what happen next.
This is cool AFFor the Banshee Queen!
You cannot redeem a hero. She is one. She struck down the evil Night Elves and freed us of them all. She will forever be my queen and warchief. For the horde.
Let’s not all jump to conclusions. I highly doubt just because Sylvanas hesitated doesn’t mean she is going to to be redeemed in this expansion. Besides, who knows what that sword she wields can do? Maybe she’ll finally get Anduin to break. We’ll have to wait for the next couple of patches to see where this story takes us.
This is the Sylvanas I have always seen and have tried to explain to people. So many are on the ra ra ra kill her train without understanding her intricacies. I have always and will always love her/the character and am hopeful now to see where her story goes.
