Only EU guilds are allowed to win the race. Pretty much sums up the comments here.
In theory this is correct until the weekly reset. Then it’s back to a 16 hour head start. People complain about echo using Limits strats but did limit us BDGG strats or Lazarus Impeative’s strats since they killed some bosses before limit? High end guilds like echo and limit don’t need to steal each other’s strats, yes they can get ideas but they have been playing the game at a high level for such a long time it isn’t hard to believe they can come up with similar basic strat. People who say why don’t EU roll toons on US servers or vice versa why should Players be hampered by latency issues it needs to be a worldwide release just like when they release the expac,
People are still pointing out the 4h maintenance and bugs, but the biggest advantage is not starting the race sooner in day 1. Getting the loot resets a day before every week is way more important, specially in a boss like Denathrius where the gear was so decisive. Remember Echo had a 4% wipe without doing the hc splits. In any case, Limit is a fair winner but for Echo losing to a weekly reset must suck.
Grats to them, what a lovely Xmas gift.
I won't argue who won, but I'll state obvious things that people keep ignoring.Pros and Cons for NA:NA have 16 hours headstart - proNA gets to beta test bugged bosses - con or is it? read more!NA got(I'm not using gets because it's not 100% sure that each raid tier will happen) extended maintenace - conNow the next one is really tricky, but people need to actually use their brains to comprehend what's happening -NA gets to beta test bugged bosses - which leads to them(limit) farming gear instead of trying to kill the boss. There are 2 possibilities here if the boss wasn't bugged. They might've killed the boss real quick or for all we know they might've spent 10 hours trying to kill it only to then decide to go and get more gear to come back and kill it... We don't know if this bug was an actual pro or con for them.Pros and Cons for EU:EU start 16 hours late - conEU supposedly copies tactics from NA, although I'm not sure if people really believe in this when they say it, suggesting that some of the best guilds in the world can't think of a strategy for themselves, but whatever - proEU didn't have any maintenance issues or bugged bosses - prosEU or rather Echo instead of finishing all their weekly reset gear grind/splits they rushed to try and race on equal footing vs Limit. IF they didn't try to race head to head vs the 12 hour gear advantage(16 hours - 4 for extended maintenace) it's quite possible that they would've killed the boss A LOT faster. There was a tilt factor once you lose to what it feels like an unfair advantage which leads to stupid mistakes. Basically if they went to try the kill the boss with the same gear Limit was doing it things might've been different. I'm not mentioning pros or cons on this one since this was a situation thing that happened that people seem to not be able to figure out.Personally from these to me it seems like this tier Limit had an advantage(not by their choice obviously). The bugged boss they encountered just so happened to be a boss that would benefit from having better gear.Echo on the other side made a stupid decision in my opinion when they saw that Limit was, so close to the kill which ended up being quite a few hours later. If they didn't stop their splits things might've been different. I doubt that they would've killed it before Limit, but I'd wager they would've gotten the kille few hours later(3-4 hours) aka they wouldn't have stopped the raid.At the end I still think that Limit would've won, but just wanted to point out that people keep repeating stuff without delving on the possibilities and whether it was a pro or a con.Without rules and without the support from Blizzard these races will never be fair. And we aren't even taking into consideration other regions that have great players that just don't stand a chance at competiting for 1st place due to the massive release delay they have.
Echo (Method) went back to Heroic and did some clears to get some more gear. They then rested and took on Sire after finding out the other guilds were not challenging them as of yet. If Echo completed that heroic before their Mythic attempt, who knows what could've happened especially when the fight literally can turn around in .5 seconds or casting one spell too late.
"Limit" you say ?First of all, it is not Limit but Complexity Limit, keep that in mind.Because former Limit was losing big time in BFA even with 16 whatever hours of advantage. So for Limit to win they had to join forces with some other guild, typical Americans...Put yourself in a position to whatever race you might be part of and that your opponent has a couple of hours advantage, would you not feel demoralized from the beginning till the end?For Blizzard, if you are listening, I would just say that there is no moral in mentioning "World First Race" or confirming world first kills when you don't do a global release.Gratz to both teams!
Oof. 16 hours later. Let the coping continue, EU lads. :)
Limit won NA is on top all the matters.
