You are being largely disingenuous and frankly kidding yourself. They are not looking for civil discourse, asking the rhetorical question "Who?" when the article explicitly says who they are serves only the purpose of signaling that you believe someone isn't worthy of a mention. Period. Calling someone a fake nerd is gatekeeping, gatekeepers are not looking for civil discourse just looking to try to act like someone isn't worthy to be part of your community. There is no civil discourse to be had with those people, because their entire reason for commenting is to be explicitly rude and demeaning, which is why they are labelled as a troll. Asking why one person has a tribute and not another and saying that because that other person doesn't have a tribute the original person shouldn't is whataboutism and also isn't conducive to civil discourse.Also this isn't pandering to anyone or saying you have to like her, this is just noting that a well known member of the nerd community has gotten a tribute in the game and listing some of the things she's done that people who aren't her personal fans might know her from.Yep, she's one of us!usShe's not "just some celebrity who happens to play WoW", that's not why she's getting a tribute, she is responsible for a well loved web series based on mmorpgs and creating a channel responsible for many series covering multiple nerd topics like tabletop rpgs and card games among other things. My personal favorite and probably most well known: Critical Role was launched there and Felicia Day personally asked them if they wanted to stream their campaign online after hearing about it, Critical Role is responsible for a lot of people getting into the game of D&D as well as inspiring many to stream their own campaigns. So how is listing some of the things that someone is known for "pandering and condescending" you? The only purpose it serves is to let people who aren't aware of her know who she is, what she's done and why she's getting a tribute. If you feel personally attacked by someone else's career and feel like it's pandering to you then that's your own response to that information and no amount of "civil discourse" will change that.Comentado por ChunkyCoffeeReplying to Falschgott: She is a WoW player which would make her by definition "one of us" you may feel like the article is pandering to you, but they are providing a decent amount of information as to who this person is and why they are getting a tribute, your emotional response to that knowledge or how it is presented is your own.

Again, the question of "Who?" when the article very explicitly tells you "who" they are, is only done to signal you believe that someone is not worthy of a mention and is just done to be rude and dismissive of someone. The article bloody tells you "who", asking "who?" is just to be a jerk. Period. They weren't "dog piled" and weren't "bullied" it was a couple people calling someone out on being a toxic member of the community before said person's toxic comment were removed, and the mods delete any comments with quotes of the original toxic comment. Being toxic isn't going to ever spark an actual conversation, the person's entire purpose is to be a jerk.

WoWhead mods can remove any comment they want, and removing comments that only serve to attack the subject of a post is well within their rights as mods.
