so I am one of those people coming back to play because of shadowlands. First off, I hate the twitch client to have to get my addons updated, etc, but didn't know there was another option. Couple of questions. First and foremost, does this carry elvui and addons for it or do I still need to check the tukui website for that? Does this auto update your addons for you or do I still need to click each one to update, etc?
Been using Singularity Addon Manager after seeing a post on reddit about it. It seems more feature-complete, though no mac client yet.https://singularitymods.com
There's an infinite redirect on the ajour site going back and forth from the www subdomain.
GREAT! Twitch has become an over-cumbersome hunk of advertisement and streaming nonsense
Very simple, clean and efficientKudos to the creators
Adding another vote for cursebreaker. Great lightwieght and console based so it just work anywhere.
I'm a big fan of wowup.io as a replacement
so it's a addon for your addons? addonception!
I been using singularitymods there is about 5+ addon managers at this point its best to use what works for you.
This might be a dumb question. But if I switch from Twitch to WoWup.io do I have to redo my ui in game? Cause I use Bartender.
This looks great, but the link redirected me too many times and the site crashed. I personally switched to Curse Breaker. It works great, easy to use interface. Great if you already know how to use commands, if you don't, no worries, it walks you through how to use it.
Ok tried both Ajour and wowup.io on windows,I like both but if Ajour gets more dev i may switch from wowpup.io to Ajour, like the roadmap concept and it will prob get search function it looks like. But if you want stable id go with wowuoup.io.
The only concern I have by people using these tools, is that any support going to the addon authors (yeah, addon authors gets paid a very little amount but still) might disappear completely. It just about 2 years ago, when DBM was about to shutdown due to the addon creator not making enough money to support himself.
Overwolf is developing a standalone mod updater, separate from the overlay application that some people hate. It's hard to evaluate the Overwolf updater since it's not done yet, and won't be available to the public until a week before the Shadowlands launch (see https://www.wowhead.com/news=318197.4/overwolfs-shadowlands-roadmap-for-curseforge-app). It also won't support macOS until later.
I'm all for more places to download addons, but wasn't CurseForge throwing down the law against any upstart trying to pull users addon information off their site? So like, the addon creators would need to upload them off of CurseForge as well?
