1. Blizzard doesn't know WTF they're doing. They did not know that adding a socket would be a negative thing nobody should do in PvP.2. Blizzard did know WTF they were doing. They did know that adding a socket would be a negative thing nobody should do in PvP. They decided knowingly to not say a word about it because they wanted players to engage in mindless grinding even if it impacted them negatively.I cannot say which one is worse: utter incompetence, or pure malice.
Is it the socket that causes the scaling? So if I remove the gem, will that affect the calculation? My DK is really geared but I can't push past 2000, I thought it was because I sucked - which is true - but is my gear... actually making this harder for me?
When there is hidden multipliers on spells in PvP, why the hell does hidden scaling ontop exist? Blizzard truly are clueless.
Mine might be a bit of an unpopolar opinion, but i don't understand why we don't go back to the legion system. Fixed pvp template (easily for devs to balance) with a very slight advantage for geared players (1% stat for 10 IL). If we are talking about COMPETITIVE play, everyone should more or less start at the same level. I have 2 warlocks, and this patch tuning with corruption is so off the scale that my main WL is at 2.5cr, while my &*!@ geared 460 warlock with no corruptions sits at 1.9cr because i CBA loosing to bad players with 9x gushing wounds. Fairest system is PVP template, because even assuming a huge IL differerence, the actual difference in player power still makes it so the best player wins (imagine 40 IL means 4% more stats). IF gear must be a factor, then bring back resilience or something. The absolute worst possible system is this crap we currently have, where pve heroes just show up full corrupted and kill you with corruption damage. GW does literally 40% overall damage for most melee specs, it's not even funny. Literally a completely passive unavoidable effect does HALF their complessive damage. Also if they confirm legendaries/trinkets usable in SL PvP, then i can already tell you that's gonna suck as well.
tested it myself few minutes ago and i have to say i am actually quite impressed on what garbage is blizzard feeding us for past few months. It's absolutly riddiculous that everything in this video is true.
This is a complete farce. For the entirety of this expansion, including beta, PvPers have been questioning this system and suspecting it's not working correctly, even going so far as to asking the devs to supply the actual formula used by this "hidden" scaling so that we can know what's going on. What have we gotten in response? The lead PvP developer mocked us by giving us the MS Paint illustration that can be seen in Rextroy's video at 00:06. That's how Blizzard treats their customers.Blizzard, start treating your PvPers like honored customers instead of second-hand citizens.1. Remove the intransparent "hidden" scaling mechanic.2. Introduce the WoD extra PvP ilvls on PvP gear or the MoP PvP Power & Resilience system.3. Introduce a minimum ilvl for all players in PvP combat (just like Rextroy is suggesting in the video) - something to bring the bottom-most players "up".
That is, the socket gem is bug? Why is it always just with that paladin? In the game there are different classes, races, talents, racials, initial stats and in different factions that could vary a lot in theory and even be incorrect. It cannot be that a good use of the jewelry has affected throughout the expansion.
they should simply take scaling away, and give us what wee had for several expansion - pvp power in some sort, i dont really know why undergeared characters need to be scaled up - when you went into pvp without gear you were always smeared over wall, but you could get decent pvp set in few days, and you got powerspike at that point
Did I miss him accounting for the fact that he took less damage with a lower Azerite piece, but his max health also decreased, so he should take less damage anyway? Also, I don't think he checked if his DK partner maybe gained a buff in between attempts for the glove test?
Actualy when there will be pvp vendors, we can go back in time when pvp scale simply doesnt exist. But in current expansion this was a simple and imperfect tool, becouse of how rng and overall, how bad was pvp gearing during BFA. They had to do this, to avoid good but unlucky pvp players, its messy and terrible of course but somehow it worked -another system on the Top of the Great Pyramid of all WoW systems. Blizzard had to spend so much money on these trash systems, i hope they will spend another for more practical things in the future. I am optimistic, becouse of how much they are testing Shadowlands. I was very angry about amount of glitches in BFA, in combination with very sh..y classes and gameplay it was like the game from another studio, huge disapointment, the best thing on BFA are Freehold dungeon (except the first boss- i am playing melee:D) and Cinematics, these were phenomenal. PVP was just terrible, especialy combination of pve trinkets, essences, pvp scaling and in the end corruptions all of it in ranked arenas/BGs made game silly, truly "indie FTP tittle ".
