The grind ewww and for those complaining about us complaining about the grind , yes it's an mmo and I expect a grind but when ins0end hrs a day grinding something I expect an equal reward for my time invested I have yet to see anything other than the never ending rune thats actually a reward . And don't say the cloak upgrades for the welfare legendary that thing is weak AF til u get the main stat proc
For me:1) Get goblin and worgen heritage armors2) Go to Voldun to search for elusive llama mount and feed & get it3) Make Vulpera and Mechagnome :D
A lot of work to get that backpack
Nope to all that.. Vulpera here I come!
Grinding should either be invisible or fun as something you want, but not the main mechanic for the game. If I'm not moving forward, I'm bored.
just knock out a quick 21 to be safe.... lol yea sure np!
I haven't been grinding at all this expansion.I just do things when I want. Sometimes I do the weekly isles for the AP, sometimes I skip them. Sometimes a month or longer goes by without me doing the islands or M+. My necklace is at 69, almost 70. I've got plenty of the essences I want, I can still clear heroic raids and M10+.I'm not mythic raiding, I'm not doing the hardest of dungeon clears, but that's not really my playstyle. Others have fun that way, in the same way that people can have fun speedrunning video games. Some people get a rush from being the most optimized. I just play in warmode and do things with friends at a leisurely pace. All this stuff coming up? I'm glad it's grindy. It means I won't have my hands in my pockets two months from now. I don't feel obligated to rush through everything, but I do feel like keeping up with my cloak. I think the assaults and visions look fun as hell. I played PTR mostly just to make a fox boy. Damn I love those anthro kids.Anyways, this guide was super helpful. I won't be checking everything off the box every week, but I like having a page to turn to if I do find myself scratching my head in a 'Now what' moment of gameplay.:)
The most annoying part of this is gonna be the 1.5 hour quest chain per alt to get more chances at rare drop loot, bah.
I'll just get those profession recipes that doesn't require abnormal farming and be done with it. Still they keep the bad stuff on professions. It isn't the matter of 'getting free loot' out of them. First, they keep expulsom BoP, UNTIL THE END OF THE EXPAC, so even toons that won't be using them, will still drop them, and keep them in bags, or vendor them, no use. Second, it is good to put some effort in crafting very high gear, but those are pornographic effort. Plus, Blizz is making people having to raid, to 'craft' gear? That is to sell mostly, as people with alts won`t bother much, sending these crafted to their alts, unless they can farm tons of expulsom in the character who will craft them. Third, will people even be able to SELL these crafted gear in the AH? If so, not so very much, as the prices will get very high.
I like a meaningful grind, but there is always a balance to the meaningfulness and the number. 8.3 has lost that balance, its multiple grinds to achieve one goal, which isnt really interesting its annoying. This feels like going from one nice paying job to get the things you want to suddenly being forced to take multiple lower paying jobs to get the same things. Its a step backwards, not forwards.
I need a TLDR version, like a checklist... with blackjack...
These grinds feel like they're part of a self contained loop. E.g. you grind for the materials to make a cloak that makes it easier to grind materials etc etc. There's some stuff in this patch which looks great: The raid, new allied races, some genuinely cool mounts to unlock. But I suspect its going to be with us for a LONG time (probably till November) and from that point of view its looking pretty threadbare. The decision to reuse old zones rather than create a new one seems... really bad for long term retention. I guess we'll see in a few months!
