GL with that challenge, and yea you choose wrong time to do it :)
Maybe I'm also trying the 30-days Token challenge. I'm on maternity leave, so I would appreciate, if I could spend ingame gold instead of real money for playtime. It would also be interesting how others put up with that challenge. :) An sharing ideas in the community, how to gain gold out of level drops!
My strategy would be running islands and selling the drops, as well as selling herbs
Wow, just even being able to level a few alts from 110 - 120 and have a start amount of 10k gold ... I had no idea! This is definitely an awesome looking challenge.
Make enough gold for a Token in 30 days on a freshly levelled 120? I think that would be impossible for me but its a nice challange and i would like to try at least. Maybe with some lucky drops of transmog items i could theoretically do it but selling those high ticket items might be a problem so idk.
First off, I already have the Dreadwake Mount from the event that went on pre-BFA, so I want to disclude myself from the contest. Let someone who doesn't have it yet get it. :)Secondly, I look forward to @Gumdrops' posts every single week. What has had me hooked on the posts was something he said early on in BFA that was along the lines of "how much gold do you have account-wide if you have alts?" (I forget which episode that was). It intrigued me, and I responded here on Wowhead stating I have a whole army, multi-realm, but didn't know how much I had all together. Right now, the total of gold I own on all realms I play on (42 chars) is 2,552,954g. I literally started taking a closer look at LazyGoldMaker's blog posts and started doing spreadsheets to just start tracking my liquid gold (excluding inventory). My average I like to keep per alt is about 20-100k gold each, depending on level (having 20k at level 60 is important to me because it doesn't take me long to get to level 90 from there and then there are the Garisson expenses). I am not anywhere near having the Dino mount, and my focus right now is turning tokens into battle.net balance in order to transfer alts on one server I have disliked for some time now over to a more favorable realm that I like more. I do have a tendency to "test" realms out before transferring or creating an alt army there.Thirdly, I appreciate the update on the Twitch resources to look into. A few in your list, about 4-5 of them, I didn't know had twitch channels and I followed. I've been following (sometimes interacting) on reddit over on /r/woweconomy, not so much discord discussions yet, and one of your "older" resources was surprised to see me pop into his twitch channel and mention reference to him being a resource listed on reddit. Actually a really nice guy! It was still a nice twitch interaction with him, as we happen to share a realm together and I've learned some things from Kittymowmow's past posts (that he says are now outdated, but his twitch is up to date when he streams). At any rate, I am definitely looking forward to the challenge by LazyGoldMaker! While his style isn't my personal preference (his biggest heartthrob in gold-making seems to be BoE sniping/flipping), his blog is HIGHLY educational, especially with mats flipping, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Especially to those who want to keep a (secret) tab open while working a non-WoW-related job and can't have someone chatting in a video or livestream while having a customer on the phone with you or therelike. ;-) I highly enjoy how he takes project management to a whole 'nother level in WoW. :) If wanting to further gold-making education, this list you provided is superb.
I am curious of the results of the 30 days challenge, especially the time investment. How many hours did he spend every day to achieve this. Plus the strategies at start and at the end, and how did he alter them, of course.
I don't think I'd earn enough to buy a token at the end of the 30 days. I'd still give it a try though.I wasn't aware that there are so many streamers dedicated to farm gold. That was the best part of the post for me.
Thanks for all the information you guys give us, really grateful.
I highly doubt I could complete the fresh 120 gold makers challenge of earning a Token in only 30 days. There are a few reasons, despite the fact that I currently fund my subscription solely with gold, and have done since Tokens entered the game. First, Legion professions have been losing value over time steadily, compared to to other expansions. Second, Table missions are no longer effective as any real supplement. Third, I have lost faith in the reliability of Transmog markets without a huge time investment on farming. Fourth, and this is the biggest reason, I’m just not that good (or determined) a goblin!I can leverage my two 120s, two 110’s and a Bank alt to earn me anywhere from 150-200k each month, but at this point it’s more about stockpiling to fund my WoW Classic plans than it is about anything to do with BfA.
Well, after my initial 30 day window, I was able to afford 3 tokens. Now, I have to keep in mind my layout varied from what was proposed in the article. I used only 110s instead of a 120, but I didn't limit myself to a single character. I think this more than made up for not having any BfA access. I also didn't use up my entire 30 days efficiently since I applied the challenge retro actively as I was already almost 10 days in on a current token period. I do have to give credit where it is due though. It was mentioned in the comments that some users farmed MoP raids for gold. I actually found this to be very profitable myself. Considering I was rotating 7 110s through the majority of the MoP raids for 3 weeks, I did better than I expected. At this rate, I will keep up this process for the next couple weeks to bolster the 5 tokens which was my original goal. Also, whatever happened to the giveaway? It doesn't look like this was ever updated with a winner.
