Definitely people like me learn a lot from this topic. Thank you whoever got this idea.
Is interesting to choose by enchantment and tailoring, in my case I would continue with herbs and ores.
This has inspired me to try a 30 day token challenge.. but I think I'll start with a 110 and start the process with leveling!
I remember when I started playing (on retail) back in late WOD, I was facing similar challenge as I planned to be able to pay at least every other month by gold.I started with a character at level 20 (trial account) and staffed with as much as I could get in reasonable time. I had 1 heirloom from farming WSG, bags, few golds and XP boost from leveling with my friend using RAF.After my first month of game time passed (actually shortly before it), I needed to burrow like 10k gold from my friend to be able to get my token. Since then, I'm using only gold to pay for my subscription and I'm proud of that. My goldmaking skill increased since then and I'm now able to make more than just token price monthly.I know that economic situation was very different back then, but I just wanted to share my story :)
I enjoy the concept of this challenged. I just leveled a new warrior and have 8.6k in the bank. I’ll try to keep up with Lazy’s stream while I try to get you 120 myself.
1. Do the gathering professions quests using wowhead/zygor2. Download GatherMate, Routes, LootAppraiser and TradeSkillMaster3. Run randomly around 1 location for 1 hour to fill the database4. Create route from herbs/minerals and optimize it by clicking a button5. Add taboos if you find cliffs/caves/bugged nodes on your route6. Make your route smaller and smaller to loop only the nodes that are easiest to reach until you start gathering 20000-30000g per hour w/o competition or no less than 10k g if the route is very crowded.7. Don't forget the 3 items that prevent you from being dazed, increase your mount speed by 20% if you don't have pathfinder and allow you to gather while mounted. It is also a good idea to waterwalk if you can manage w/o riding on your pretty fox all the time.
In Legion, I did that challenge, with the instant 100 and grinding-farming raids. But I think that Legion was way easier than BfA.
Best way to make gold in 8.1.5 is to farm trash mobs in legion dungeons (Find one that suits your play style) and repeat the process. Second is profession mounts if you have time to gather material, this depends on the demand but the auction house in some servers works towards materials gathered in BFA and Draenor (Herbs sell more compared to ores in BFA while Ores sells the most in Draenor),Here is an overview of what I focus on if you want to sell on the auction house: - Demand (Always scan the market and see what people demands the most)- List (Open up any document such as google doc or even excel and organize a list of items)- Time & Date (Do not expect everything to sell fast, always remember that there is a time for everything such as events, holidays and weekends)- 30:10:5 (30 of the highest demanded items, 10 of what is the least time consuming and 5 to focus on)
It is really hard for a new player to get a token each month. I have multiple characters and I find it hard too get it!
Interested to see what's the method he'll use to get a token!
as a "new player" without any knowledge of the game i think it's pretty hard to do this kinda of stuff in the challenge, but if it's a veteran i think it's pretty damn easy and pointless to do it, as you know of every single thing to do and raise 110k. (on NA realms) So it seems pointless.
I definitely think you can save up enough gold on a fresh 120 to buy a token in 30 days, especially if you focus on farming profession mats, whether it's herbs, ores or skins. I reckon you could pull that off casually in 30 days or even push it to two weeks, depending on how aggressive you plan on doing it, because I think the game's got to the point where it allows you to do it efficiently while still having time to do other stuff at the same time. One could argue it's been this way ever since the token was first introduced, and this is coming for someone that isn't a gold farmer. Sure, if I'd go for alchemy/herbalism, I'd probably have an easier time doing it than if I were to pick any other professions, maybe even 2 gathering ones... But I choose to believe that it's more than doable with a single gathering profession.
For a 30 day token challenge, I would probably do it all wrong, but my instinct is to try to sell several "big ticket" items. I'd probably try to do mecha-mogul mk2. I'd use a gnome (a lot easier to get to max engineering), and a class that could be a healer or tank or both (to get goggles' hydrocores quickly, and then the parts from motherlode quickly after).Second profession would be mining, at least to level engineering as fast as possible, I don't like buying mats that I can gather. Then alchemy or herbalism then alchemy, for having a guaranteed expulsom source. The profit margin is probably going to continue to drop on these, but for now, you might probably still make enough after undercutting (to make a sale more likely) if you sold 2. And if I was having trouble selling the first one on that realm, then instead of farming motherlode to make a second, I could switch to farming old raids, but that's less fun to me.
Indefinitely believe this 30 day challenge can be completed easily. Either with herbalism, or also with the run of some old dungeons it should mean no problem for sure!
It’ll be cool to watch him earn enough gold for a wow token in a month hopefully I’ll learn stuff because since bfa started I haven’t been able to make decent gold so all my characters stay kinda broke lol and thanks for listing the gold making streamers I’ll definitely watch them and hope to learn things from them as well
6k a day (EU), it seems like a challenge with no capital... although I guess with actual farming it's more viable, I do all of my gold generating with flipping and am comfortably covering my token, but I had 200,000g to start with. Definitely looking forward to seeing how it goes!
My playtime used to be like this: 1-2 hours of farming herbs early in the morning + 4 hours of raid time in the evening. It was enough to make gold for a token and those ~2 hours were pretty much tangible effort for me. Now with all those new features which were intended to simplify things, it led to a dramatic price drop. With all that my 1-2 hours barely provide me even with a half of the token usual cost (180k on EU).PS. today prices for alchemy and herbs are ridiculously low even considering cheapening because of summer and "nothing to do" period. What should we expect in 8.2 with possibility to fly? Herbs will be provided free of charges in Orgri and Storm?
im just waiting to see the 30 day token challenge.
