I actually really like the light touched undead. Haha!
this came out before april fools so not sure if april fools or not... if its for april fools well played! You got me! Everything was believable until the void skins.
April Fools jokes are meant to actually be humorous. This post has no comedy attached to it at all so it's just meant to fool people which makes it inherently mean-spirited. There are crazier toys than that Pepe one in the game so I could easily see it added. I could see those racial options being added too, Blizzard have shown that they have no qualms about giving Horde races to Alliance with extra customisation like they did with the Void Elves. Not a great look for the site when you're just reporting fake WoW news intended to trick people.
Considering this was just YESTERDAY (at least for me) I am 70% sure this is real.
I'm not sure if its a April fools or not lol
Yeah this is like admitting to your friends you got liver cancer or something after they've talked to you about how much you were partying and drinking and then going "April Fools though!" You don't set a very legitimate precedent for your gag, you make it at least slightly outlandish so people get confused by it. This is like mean-spirited and must've taken quite a while.
void touched would actually be pretty cool but the lightbound are appropriately off putting for AFD
Nice new alliance Undead there. Best priest race. <3 If only, and Undead paladins finally. xD Thank you wowhead, now let's hope this will be made real. :D
Yeah this was a seriously mucked up thing to do wowhead. We all wanted lightbound undead and it was teased like it was legitimate. This is like telling your buddy you're surprising them with a new Xbox and APRIL FOOLS!-- no new Xbox. "What a great prank haha that was so funny right pal!" To make it worse, you posted it early; blaming it on timezones is a pretty smooth-brained response when the majority of your readers are in the USA. Let's just chalk this failed April Fools up to the fact that jokes and humor just aren't a bunch of web devs' forte.
With massive screw-ups like this it's really starting to look like WoWhead is becoming nearly as out-of-touch as Blizzard themselves. No clue how all of the higher-ups could have possibly okay'd making fun of actual desired, realistic content and thought it would go over well. Might as well just thrown in a bunch of stuff about shamans finally getting reworked and being made playable again, just to ya know, really make people upset or whatever you were trying to do here.Just, idk man. Big yikes and all that. Dropped the ball so hard here it fell right through the floor.
Happy April fools <3 We all spent a ton of time on this (hooray, no PTRs as distraction!) and I especially want to thank Stevan and Anna for getting all the custom Undead models working in the viewer. They look amazing! I also miiiight have been sowing the seeds for this by talking about the Lightbound in recent articles/Wowhead Weekly ;)
A bit late to the party, but this was keen! The Pepe-o-vision especially was adorable.
I might have fell for it if you have not added the Void-Touched orcs and humans.
Seriously blizzard, the Pepe goggles need to be a thing.
shouldve put in the nazjatar map entry to make it more believeable
If I could've made a void-touched human, I'd racechange my warlock back and actually make her a void-touched human instead of just RP'ing her as one. The assets look top notch though; cheers to the team!
